Irissia bit her lip studying Leon. Well Arcane...she was lucky he didn't attack. Or rather he was lucky he wasnt stupid enough to do so...but still...maybe Leon would do the same... But he was a lion. Natural predator, he killed the weak and slow for food... he had admited it himself... And a week and a half wasn't very long.
Studying him she crossed her hands, fingers inter locking smoothly. "I would give you a chance...but my orphanage is very important to me..." she was honest. Those children were what she was loyal to, they were what she defended. At night most of the time she would sit outside and listen to the people come and pass. Any lethal monster was automatically shot at and killed on the spot. Not one miss. But there was one girl she watched with particular interest. Though she was far too distant for it to really count, she was one of her brother's great-great-great-grandchild's great great great grandchild. Making her a quite distant relative, but a relative nevertheless, sure the child had barely a drop of monster blood and couldn't do anything, but at least she could smell a hint of dog in her. And at least the child was a loyal as.
But he seemed to want to help...he really did. "How about this, Sunday we will go volunteer at a soup kitchen. Prove to me then you have control and will beable to handle yourself. And I will let you see the children," she told him.

"You defend what's important to you, and I defend mine. It's understandable. There's no way I would mess around. You'd kill me, and have a flawless and enjoyable time doing it." Leon pointed out, a bit grudgingly. He knew when to admit that he had lost in terms of strength. He respected other beings' turfs anyway. Even if he was still carnivorous and craving mortal, he wouldn't want to raid an orphanage, much less deal with Irissia. He had known of her before from rumors. He knew not to take big risks.
"That sounds great, actually," The son of the Nemean Lion grinned at the archer. "I promise I'll be of help. Well, let's just say I'm used to being around those, when I used to be a kid." He was alone on the streets back then, and he had been forced to learn to fight before he had grown old enough to gain his own powers and fighting capabilities. Since then, he died less, and food came easier. Now...he was going to go back. He owed mortals for a good survival so far. "I'm doing this to pay you back, and them, too."

Irissia grinned at his comment "Have you heard of how I can shoot an arrow at the moon and it will hit the target even if it's directly behind me?" she asked him. It was quite a sight. It got her about 400 drachmas once. Very good pay for one arrow.
Irissia nodded "Ok. I suppose then I'll test you there," she told him. Then her head cocked to the side "You mention paying me back for a room. Why is that? Surely you don't pay rent to live in tunnels?" she asked him.

"News spreads fast. They call you the second Artemis." Leon commented, finishing off the last of his food slowly. He sat back with a sigh, feeling the strain on his healing injuries. The scars were tight, and he was going to need to do some stretching later, no big deal. "I've heard a lot, trust me. Actually, it's kind of an honor as well as my pleasure to meet you. I just never mentioned it. I don't understand why my last name is Archer, but it should be yours."
When Irissia settled their plans, he nodded agreeably. He had lots of free time anyway, being a monster that didn't do his job: hunt. "Well, I owe you, and I don't like to leave favors unpaid, Miss. I earned my space in the tunnels myself. You, well, you're giving me a room for free, on such short notice."

Irissia shrugged "No Artemis is a goddess. Very kind. A good friend," she told him with a smile. She was find of the virgin goddess. Almost as find of her as she was of her brother. Maybe even more so. "Leon Archer...sounds like a nice name. I change my bane constantly, I don't really know my original name. But the first name I remember is Laodice, princess of Troy," he told him with a shrug. Then again before that name she was a dog. No mortal form really, or a need to have one. Until Aphrodite gave her one and made her a sort of representative of hers.
Irissia nodded "I suppose. But I would call it a gift. I give those out and expect no pay."

"Yeah? Never met her. Actually, never really met any god before." Leon said thoughtfully. He didn't attract their attention since he was just a mere monster anyway. He had always disliked them and their children, acting all high and mighty, killing monsters just because they thought it was heroic. Once he was born a monster, he was branded immediately as evil. He didn't get a say. But now, he had found that they weren't as bad as all the monsters assumed. Attacking, killing, and eating humans just proved their viewpoint right.
"Thanks," Leon replied as she commented on his name, "Mine's never changed, and I bet it didn't take a lot of imagination to make up." Leon literally meant lion. "A gift? That's the first time in this century that I've received one. You can't expect me to not be grateful."

Irissia shrugged "I've meet most of them. They are all good. Their children are as well, for the most part. I grew up close to Apollo and Artemis as princess as Troy. And close to Aphrodite as a mortal. Then I've ran into the other gods a couple times." she cold him thinking of her history eyes narrowing a bit.
"Gifts aren't rare. They just require giving. And accepting." she told him shaking her head lightly. Irissia then again had children to make her small paintings which she hung in her wall in her apartment sigh pride.

"Huh, you seemed to have been born of high status as it is. I wasn't significant enough. And I doubt they like me. I've eaten more than a few of their children before. I'll admit that was my fault." He grumbled. He took another sip of water to clear his throat.
"They're pretty rare to me. Like I said, I was never significant enough. No one really likes me." He was known for being a sly monster. He resembled more of a fox than a lion in terms of personality. He didn't mind, either, because if you trusted others in his world, it usually led to your downfall.

Irissia shook her head "I was born a puppy. No status," she told him with a shy smile. "When I was born I had no mortal, or at least form I can use. I lived like a normal puppy, but with my father's talents. My mom was a dog too you know. Beautiful husky. But one day I saved an old lady out of pity and it turned out to be Aphrodite," she told him. "The goddess changed my life. She gave me a mortal form, made me princess. And since then I've been her representative," she said gesturing to how she always seemed to look nice despite her actions.
Irissia shook her head "My gifts come from my actions. I was hunting to help Rome once, before they were a city. I was one of the wolves. Artemis came to me then remembering me as princess of Troy. I meet Apollo as a princess..." she shrugged masking her feelings for the sun god. "I've spoken to him a couple times after. He helps me out at times but he gets kinda busy. Then Aphrodite drops once a week. Just to check on me. And she sometimes has things for me to do, and some times I meet other gods," she told him.

"Oh...okay." Leon made a face like he was trying to imagine Irissia as a tiny Chihuahua jumping around with large wide eyes. He gave her a small smirk. She probably would guess what he was thinking, so he put his hands up to "surrender".
"The gods haven't bothered trying to contact me. They probably are disgusted by me." He laughed, but it wasn't a happy one, more of bitter scorn. He never really liked the gods back either. They were just born, and now they had control over everything, and lived a peaceful life.

Irissia rolled her eyes at Leon's face reading it with ease. "I'm a husky. Very close to wolves. But kind." she told him. Irissia then studied Leon "So how was your family born? We're you born mortal or like kittens?" she added the last part to tease him. Family... She had lost her brother to Archilles, the thought making her eyes flicker for a slight moment in grief... Her beloved brother... Dead...
Irissia studied him quietly "Well maybe you don't notice, maybe they have plans for you yet to be carried out..." at least Aphrodite does... She thought the last part silently. Remembering Aphrodite's last visit involving a monster and her daughter. Though Irissia didn't ask she figured Leon must be involved.

Leon grinned, glad that she was starting to speak to him with ease. She had joked back. At least it wasn't a frigid conversation anymore, "Um, my father never really told me, but I remember always being in mortal form. My father encouraged it since I was born into the rise of humans. It was easier to...uhm...get prey." He still remembered that his father had strictly hunted in his own territory because he knew mixing up with mortals was not a good thing. When they were starving, they had to eat what wandered in, including the Greeks. They were just food at the time. Then Hercules had come and killed off his father. Since then, Leon had split off from him and lived on his own. After all, his father took three ears to reform.
"Then the gods are no better than the Fates." He said quietly, knowing that the higher beings would not appreciate his words. He was being honest, though, and he never did it any other way.

Irissia smiled "So you were raised as a little boy? That makes sense I suppose. Since raising kittens isn't too easy," she told him. Shaking her head she said "My father was put in the sky shortly after my birth. So I was raised by wolves in Rome," she told him with bright blue eyes. She was fond of lupus lupus, they were a good species.
Irissia raised her eyebrow "The gods are nothing like the Fates. The Fates govern the gods as well..." she told him quietly. But she didn't say more on the subject. Her loyalty being to the gods as well.

"Yeah..." He replied, then nodded at her sharing her past. "We did what we had to survive. Humans raise animals all the time just to lead them to slaughter. When my father was killed off, I had to run to the woods. I couldn't really hunt, but I fit into the human community pretty well." It was the main reason he hated demigods before. They had made his past a desperate struggle for survival.
"You say so, but they can come off as condescending because they have things their way and we must obey because they are powerful." He was saying his own point.

Irissia nodded "Don't you guys come back though?" she asked unsure. See Irissia barely fit the description of monster, and she never died so she didn't know of she could even come back. And if she did it would probably take her a long time... Her brother died and stayed dead...so maybe she was the same?
Irissia sighed. "The gods also have their own weaknesses. They just know how to keep them hidden," she told him
