"Stupid...of course." Leon muttered absentmindedly to himself, stabbing viciously at his food with the fork like it was all to blame for his disappointment of a life. "Nothing is infinite. Though immortal, defeat is always an option." And Leon was close to defeat. Falling in love with Tori was the largest challenge in his life. He was facing numerous monsters who booted out anyone who defended the demigods. He was working to keep his position a secret, but that involved killing so many. He wouldn't be able to manage it. "Do you know any safe houses, then? I have a feeling I won't have a home soon."

Irissia looked at Leon. Pity reflected in her eyes. At least Apollo was immortal…though he probably forgot her by now since the attack of Troy they haven’t spoken. But whatever made Aphrodite tick failed to her love for Apollo the god. “Well the stupid part of your love, is that you have a time limit. She grows old. You don’t. She dies in the process. You get reborn. She will move on to being a ghost in the Underworld. You will never see her again…” the words were her mind and feel out wthout a thought. She then cringed to the reality. How tragic really.
Irissia drank down her cup of water. A waiter coming by to refill it once more. Eyes resting on Leon once again she shrugged “I don’t stay in the Tunnels, and I don’t need a safe house. I have my own place,” she told him with a shrug “If you need a place to crash you can swing by. I can’t promise being there at all times though,” she told him. She spent her time at an orphanage taking care of little kids, and the rest doing whatever she could to protect mortals.

Leon swallowed his food hard, raking a scathing gaze across the table cloth to his food. Right, he had forgotten about that part. "I do grow old...I'm part mortal. I just don't die." Well, he aged extra slowly, at least. This appearance had come in a very very long time. he had looked like a kid before, which was deceiving for his old kind of prey.
He was surprised when she offered him a place to stay, and the son of the Nemean Lion looked up at her with startled gray eyes. "T-that's great, actually. Um, I don't want to bother you, though. Maybe Arcane will have a place or two. He has safe houses. I'm not saying that I have to stay there...when I get kicked out."

Irissia studied Leon "By the time the girl turns 30 you'd be what? 17 in apperance?" she asked him shaking her head. But she shrugged. Being limited in time when it can't to love always made it sweeter. More painful sure. But sweeter. Something work fighting for. Because if you were 100% sure you can never lose it, it won't be as strong nor as protected. Such a theory Irissia noticed through the ages she had lived through.
Irissia nodded "I know Arcane. He's alright..." for someone she trusted slightly. She didn't trust him completely since she always doubted monsters. But she trusted him enough not to go kill him for knowing the location of her beloved orphanage. "But my offer will stand. If all else fails your welcome to borrow a room in my apartment." unless he decided to eat mortals again. Then her offer will end and if he were the kind to hurt orphans shed hunt him, no doubt find him, and kill him.

"Yeah, I guess," Leon muttered, "Like you said, stupid." He chewed at his food grudgingly. "You know Arcane?" His expression was surprised, and he straightened in his seat, his gray eyes studying Irissia. "He's a good friend, really. He saved my life twice so far. He doesn't seem to mind I'm a demigod sympathizer or anything like that. He's quite carefree." That one word described the son of Ladon well, he was actually really cheerful for a monster. The subways didn't break out into fights because of him.

Irissia nodded "Yeah. He's like a puppy. Wouldn't go away," she scowled at the memory of the day. Or the parts she could remember. How horrid. "Yeah. He can be helpful." but she didn't call him a friend. She wouldn't even call Leon a friend, even if she trusted him enough to offer a room.

"Arcane's the puppy?" Leon raised an expectant brow at Irissia, prodding her with the slight tease. "Maybe since he follows people loyally, but I think it's ironic you're saying that." He gave her a tiny and light grin. "Nah, guess you didn't like him because he sticks to his menu, right?" The son of the Nemean Lion assumed, spearing some fish and popping it into his mouth.

Irissia rolled her eyes "Haha. Hilarious. No I was referring to the sense he won't stop following people around like he had no home," she said. Arcane having followed her to her beloved orphanage. Sure he was helpful afterwards. But she would have found a way to survive without him.

"Hey," Leon swallowed, pointing his fork at her for a millisecond before lowering it quickly, remembering his table manners, "The subways aren't that much of a home, if you can think about it clearly. The guy's a good guy, and the other monsters don't like him because he's one to avoid fights rationally. some of our neighbors are idiots." he muttered, referring to some of the other monsters. They just went around challenging whoever and wherever whenever that wanted to without assessing their opponent's strength. It was the reason Leon and Arcane had died much less. It had been twenty years since he had last died by a group of demigods' hands. It was smart to back off sometimes.

Irissia dismissed the thought "It's a home for murderers. And he had followed me to an orphanage," she told him. She shrugged. Avoiding fights was easy...at least for her it was. For one thing she was montored by Aphrodite, beautiful, net she was dangerous, if she wanted to hunt you she was destined to catch you, and if she was aiming for you no matter what it would hit you. So killing her would be an issue. Which is why she had never died. Aphrodite had only simply kept making her body young again so in a form she was immortal in her mortal form.

"Wow..." Leon winced at her comment about the "home for murderers". It kind of stung now that he didn't eat mortals and demigods. "An orphanage?" He tilted his head curiously, straightening in his seat. "So that's kind of like a volunteer job. You're kind." He noted. Unfortunately for him, he was blessed by no god, and didn't really want to be. He had always managed on his own anyway.

Irissia shook her head "You call that kindness? Going to visit homeless kids who had their parents murdered mostly by your roommates is more like something people should have to do. Apologize for the wrong their kind has done. Try to fix things. If I don't die, what else do I have to live for? They die, their short lives are ruined. Why don't I use my everlasting life to fix there's. Kindness would be actually defending them from that future..." she said.

"Oh, right," Leon nodded, seeing it from her point of view. Only now did he see it. Then what? Was eating animals also like that? the mortals went on killing sprees throughout their livestock. It was a controversial matter that he didn't feel like dealing with. "Maybe I could...drop by and help sometime. I...um...to repay you, maybe, for letting me borrow a room."

Irissia's eyes narrowed at his offer. She didn't even like Arcane going to her beloved orphanage. But he claimed he was vegetarian... "How long did you say you've been off human flesh?" she asked him quietly. Then sighed "Honestly Leon, I'm highly protective of the innocent. One missing hair means an arrow through your heart," she told him calmly before picking up her cup of water and draining it once more.

Leon thought about it, seeing the clear doubt in her eyes. "About a week and a half," he admitted honestly. "But seriously, I'm off. There wasn't anything appetizing about it in the first place. It was just the most convenient and commonly eaten around. Now I will admit it's wrong. I kind of feel sick thinking about it now." He couldn't really imagine going back to eating humans after talking to one. He had found that they were no different from him. It was like cannibalism, and everyone knew that was frowned upon in society.
"I understand your concern for their safety, I guess. Then I could...like...pay you rent. You could use it to help them. But I'd rather help with my own hand...just saying."
