Leon raised his eyebrows, not too sure what she was talking about. "I stopped eating mortals and demigods a week ago." He sighed, deciding that trying to gain her favor was the only way to have a decent conversation with her. She obviously hated him just for being a carnivorous monster.
Well, that explained it. Irissia was the daughter of Laelaps. Part dog? So she had to have a sharp scent. He probably had Tori scent on him. "She's actually my friend.." He trailed off, making a lame attempt to explain. What were the chances of her believing something like that? He wasn't a skeptical person, so he pretty much believed what came out of the female's mouth. She was cavorts by the gods, clearly. There were signs of them everywhere on her. Her archery was the mark of Artemis, and her faint glow of beauty was a piece from Aphrodite.

Irissia stated at him with blue eyes. Her posture straight and superior. Her eyes narrowing as if deciding on wether to believe him or not. Her legs were crossed and her hands folded neatly, and for a moment you could see a faint glimpse of the royal air. But she then looked down as if fascinated by the napkin but she instead folded it. Speaking without looking at him, not because she was hiding something but rather because she was bored "So I suppose this friend of yours must mean something for her to change your diet temporarily"
Aphrodite's scent lingered and Irissia ignored it, having been used to it for so long and not thinking that this girl he spoke of was the daughter of the goddess who owned her. And if something were to happen to the girl, Aphrodite may not be so fond of Irissia got not saving her.

Leon sat back casually in his seat like any normal teenager at this time would. He easily adapted to the shifting cultures and made them his own. And quite frankly, he kind of liked the way things went in the current time period. The kids didn't have to act so uptight. Looking at Irrisia now with his light gray gaze, he was amused. She was so regal and uptight with her form. It didn't fit, but it was interesting.
At her comment, he turned red involuntarily. The moment of embarrassment lingered for a moment before he wiped it off as quickly as it could come. He shifted at the conversation topic and coughed, "Um, yeah. She's a close friend, I guess." It wasn't like he was going to go glancing it out to anyone, though he was so bad at lying. It had been clearly readable on his face earlier. "Yeah, so how do you get your money then? I got a job working at some places."

Irissia watched his color change, her eyes narrowing and for a moment thought of the scent. A similar scent came from him and it wasn't from the goddess herself. But rather someone involved. The X-Princess of Troy laughed, "Looks like someone is going from lion to house cat all due to an enchantress," her laugh wasn't playful, but rather taunting. As if laughing at his weakness.

"You don't-" Leon stopped himself from replying her comment quickly. He was irritated by the words, but he decided to hold himself back from snapping at her. He always minded his manners. "What about it? Can't I be more docile? You're pretty friendly with mortals yourself." He pointed out, shifting in his seat and narrowing his eyes slightly.

Irissia snickered "Docile? Try interested, I know you aren't giving up your way of life unless your planning on being tamed, let me guess. Sweet, girl. A bit feisty and stubborn, but captivating." Irissia had been around Aphrodite enough to know a bit about love, not that she felt it towards anybody mortal, or monstrous or half god.
She rolled her eyes "I'm not a lion. I've never eaten not craved mortals, or demigods. You, obviously, have eaten mortal at least once." she told him quite sharply. The answer should've been obvious, who is mans best friend? A dog. Who's loyal to man? A dog. Who's patriotic and kind? Dogs.

Leon couldn't help but feel flustered at Irissia now. "Tamed.." The word brought a chill through him, and he shook his head. "I'm still the same. I live in the subways, wander around with nothing to do, and train with my friends. I'm respecting her, and maybe she is all that." He replied grumpily. It didn't matter what she was. A mythical creature just didn't keep in tough with humans. "Yeah? I did eat mortals before. But I found other things more appetizing now. What, do you think I should go back to eating humans?"

Irissia rolled her eyes and chuckled "I believe you went from king of the jungle to house cat all due to a simple girl," she told him in a mock "But wait, not only a simple girl, but love. Good old Aphrodite," she said shaking her head. She didn't notice the scent of Aphrodite coming off him, but from her it would be obvious, since Aphrodite does somewhat own her.
Irissia looked at Leon from a moment "Those weren't my words. Now of you'd like to start by the girl who is combing your mane and making you a cat. Instead of a beast. Or would you rather kill her best friend unconsciously and cause her grief and anger? Maybe you should target the poor old man behind us who wishes to join his long dead wife, or maybe the small child over there who is crying over his food. Or are you more of the druggie guy? Aiming for the drunk guy who went down that path because his family died in a car accident, do you feel better about killing the deranged man in the alley? How about the slut who works to feed 5 children in the Bronx? Take your pick, it's not like these mortals have lives to you. It's not like they do things for a reason to you," she told him flatly.

Leon met her gaze with his murky gray eyes. He didn't say much, but listened to her words tentatively. They stung like a razor sharp thorn, but he had already picked the rose, and taken in its fragrance. He couldn't let go no matter how much it hurt. "Alright, sorry." He couldn't help but sound annoyed as well. "I'm never going back to that again. Besides, we were raised to hunt. You expect a lion to grow up eating broccoli? But I'm changing it now. I was never that picky on my food."
Leon had to admit that everything Irrisia said irritated him, but all her words rang true. House cat? He was doing some foolish things for Tori. But the fact that he loved her was...wrong? Was it really wrong? Yes, of course it was! She was just his friend... He could help but curl his lip, his sharp fangs glistening against his white teeth. He restrained himself from saying anything more because he hadn't thought about mortal lives. They were just food- a simple treat.

Irissia snickered “I expected a half mortal beast to put some thought to how his mother would feel about the whole situation,” she told him in a way that was a bit cruel. Obviously no warmth towards him was developing through oral speaking, though her deep blue eyes were relaxed and looking behind Leon studying the surrounding mortals.
Her eyebrow raised “Poor lion, he thinks I’ll fear him with a show of teeth. Well that in a dogs life is a challenge, but I don’t think you’d be stupid enough to do so,” the words flowed out without thought. More of a small sidebar message that needed no conscious feelings for it.

Leon's eyes flashed dangerously. Before he said anything, though, his bit his lips tightly to seal them. Think it through before you speak. Always think... He took some breaths, pausing before replying, "I've never thought of that. My father raised me, and I have never seen her. When I learned about her being a mortal, the Greeks had just killed my father. You think I'd really consider her?" He had thought about it a while back, but he had dismissed the thought quickly, without care simply because he was far to angry with the demigods and their kind. Heracles and his stupid son of Zeus cloak. He deserved the death he had gotten.

Irissia frowned "Well the gods turned my dad into a constellation, but I didn't hold it against them. They caused me to be raised by wolves and later living with King Priam as Princess Laodice, his daughter," she told him with a shrug as if she didn't really care. But maybe, maybe a faint flicker of longing could be seen. The daughter of Lealaps missed Troy, she missed being Princess, she missed living with King Priam, talking with Hector, shooting with Paris, she missed dining with Apollo, and she missed her old life. Sure she had gotten over the time change, its been years, but she still missed it...

The corner of Leon's mouth pulled upward into a slight grin. "So, you were a princess, and I was a peasant. Funny." It was kind of amusing to him, but it wasn't like he cared. He was raised as an animal of sorts, and humans were the prey. He had nothing else to eat when Athens, Greece expanded. He had been born in its Golden Age.

Irissia's eyes narrowed "Amusing I suppose...The mutt as royalty and the king of the jungle as a peasant," she said softly and with a shrug. As if it didn't surprise her. If Leon was king or prince the gods would've most likely have been angered and sent their sons and daughters to steal the throne from him for the mere fact he killed them.

"It is, I guess," Leon shrugged, "The Fates love playing games. Irony is something they love to play around with." The monster was pretty sincere with his words. They were pretty cruel beings. Honestly, everyone- even the gods- were their playthings. If he had been raised differently, would he be the same person he was now? Would he even be a monster?
