Max was standing outside and watching the silent night. Not even a breeze blew. Taking a deep breathe she tried to concentrate. How could the night end without problem?? The sounds of footsteps made her turn around and she forgot her worries as she watched Garret approach. Smiling slightly "Getting too stuffy in there for you too??" she asked quietly.

Garret smiled warmly at her "I suppose...Is that the only reason you stepped out?" he asked her as he approached. His sea green eyes locked on her eyes as he searched them for an honest answer. He didn't want to have her say something he didn't want to hear. But he wanted to know the truth.

Max was about to nod yes when she suddently felt herself blurt her worries out. "I don't want to screw things up. I don't want time to tick past. I don't want this to end." she faced him her ivy eyes locked onto his sea green eyes "I don't want to never see you or Pyre again. I don't want us to end..." she told him tears brimming the corner of her eyes. As she tried to force them back.

Garret stepped closer. Wrapping his arms around her "Don't worry. I won't be going anywhere...and you don't have to. " Looking down he smiled at her. Feeling a bit of ease and grief. He had been thinking around the same lines, and hearing it from someone else relaxed him.

Max looked up at him. "I know...but it won't ever be the same..." she told him feeling her eyes stinging as she tried to brush her hair out of her face. It would all be her fault, she messed it up, they wont ever be the same as before.

Garret looked down at her hesitantly. Then lightly kissed, a feeling suddently spinning through him as he broke away looking at her and whispering in her ear "Don't worry, it will be better...I promise," he told her feeling his stomach heat up from the moment. His face turning red from embarrassment. The actiong came out of nowhere, but it happened.

At that moment, Pyre spoke up. After a moment's hesitation, he'd followed Garret out here, hoping he was okay and there was nothing wrong. Apparently, there was quite a bit wrong. "Yeah, it'll all get better, won't it?" he asked, anger and confusion filling his voice. He wondered why Max was out here and wanted to know why Garret had just kissed his date.

Max for a second forgot where she was. Her head spinning. And when he pulled apart she blinked startled. But she could already feel the words tumble out sloppily as she smiled. Feeling a bit lost as she forgot where she was "I belive you..." her reply was soft as she breathed it into the cold air.
But Pyre's voice snapped her into reality. She blinked and spun around to see Pyre standing there. Her voice seemed small now. Guilt flooding in as she stammered "It's not...I didnt mean for you to get hurt..." she was going to say but only half of the words came out and the other half could barely be heard.

Garret smiled and felt enough joy to kiss her again. When Pyre showed up. Garret looked up to see Pyre, angry and confused. And Garret was silent. He knew Pyre liked Max too, but he should be over her. She chose him not Pyre.
"Pyre what are you doing here?" he asked wondering why Pyre had followed him out rather than go find somebody else to follow, or a date to go with.

Pyre glared at Garret, venom in his voice. "I'm here making sure there wasn't anything wrong. Apparently not, seeing as how your kissing my date and all." This time, unlike the last which he couldn't remember, he was putting the blame on Garret. Last time, he hadn't caught Garret kissing Max. Last time, he saw that Max was to blame. This time, though, he saw his best friend kissing his date and thought Garret at fault, not Max.

Garret's jaw clenched his muscles flexing as he let go of Max. "Pyre, Max is my date. Not yours. I was kissing my date." he snapped feeling a bit angry at how Pyre was trying to make it seem like he was confused and thought he was with Max at this dance.

Max looked from Garret to Pyre unsure of what to say. Her body frozen as if time froze on her. This was her mess, and she didn't know how to clean it. Infact she was kinda scared of the materials it took to clean it. She wanted to say it was her fault. But the words were stuck on her throat.

"Your date? She chose me, not you." Walking up a few steps, not wanting to get into a full fight but perfectly ready to start one if Garret continued on like this. "She came to me just before the dance and we came here, together." He knew Max had chosen him. They'd come here, together. They had spent time together for a while before she wandered off and he lost her for most of the dance afterwards. Garret didn't come with her. He came with a mob of girls including just about everyone but Max. How could he think she was his date?

Garret snorted "You know Pyre that's all bull shit! She went with you as a friend, she didn't want to hurt your feelings. She came with me as a date. She danced with me. She is still here with me," he told Pyre quite harshly a nearby puddle of water moving threatening to shot out at Pyre who was really pissing Garret off.

Pyre was really getting angry, now, half wishing he had a sword with him to see if maybe that could cut his ego - and a few other things - down. "She came with me as a date. We talked and laughed and we danced," he said, strangely quietly, which was a bit of a habit for Pyre. Instead of yelling, he grew quieter the angrier he got. "What I'm saying isn't bull shit. It's who I'm saying it to that is!"
