Tori frowned. Stepping closer to Leon and away from Arcane. She felt unsure...but seeing that she was acting ridiculous she shook her head as he whispered something and she didn't catch it. "Um...ok Carter, let's just get going..." she said wanting to go hone now. Since for one seeing Leon's wound made her feel bad and two this double named dark alley guy was kinda making her feel insecure and nervous.

Leon just nodded in agreement. "Yeah, he just looks like another friend of mine. I just haven't seen him in a long time." He told Tori. He was a horrible liar, and she knew it too. So that why he wasn't looking at her when he said it.
Leon blinked at his comment, and replied quietly, out of earshot, "I'm not. She's my friend. you can't." She was more than his friend. In a matter of fact, he had kind of developed feelings for her, and it probably showed in his voice and face even though he didn't know it himself.

Arcane laughed but stopped himself as he realized he would probably say the same thing had he encountered Jackie... though maybe not with so much love filling his voice. Then again, Jackie could probably fend for herself. "Does she know?" he asked, wondering if she knew about Leon being a monster, and holding back a laugh at the tone in Leon's voice.

"She does, but she doesn't believe there are such things as monsters. That's why I have to stay by her side. I can't just leave her. She'll get attacked." Leon whispered back to him. He lowered his guard, relieved that Arcane probably understood. He let out a small sigh and relaxed a bit. At least it was Arcane and not some other monster that had found Tori.

Tori frowned at Leon. She had known him for a day and he was already lying to her! Was this guy really a friend? They seemed to have a super secretive conversation because all she saw was slight movement of their lips but heard nothing. Her hazel eyes went from Leon to Arcane and back to Leon nervously, why would Leon lie? Was there something wrong with Carter?
Biting her lip she stepped backwards towards where Carter had pointed her house was. Her fingers crossed that it would hopefully be there and that they wouldn't notice her stepping away from them both. Which made her feel even more unsafe.

"Whatever," Arcane sighed, loud enough for Tori to hear, as well. "Do you know how to even get to her... house, I assume?" he added the last part as a question, directed at Tori, though he didn't look back at her and didn't notice her sneaking away. Then, realizing what Leon had said, asked, "Wait... you mean she doesn't believe in monsters?" just loud enough for Tori to hear if she was listening, closely. Otherwise, it was just an undecipherable mutter.

Leon turned back to see if Tori was okay, and he noticed she was inching away. "Tori? You alright?" He stopped at Arcane's sudden raising of voice. His ears were sensitive and he kind of jumped. "What are you..." He turned back to Arcane, puzzled. why was he bringing it up? Suddenly, his wound gave an extra painful throb, and he had to stop for a moment.

Tori jumped when Leon spoke her hazel eyes widening slightly. Her voice shook slightly "Um...yeah...completely okay..." she lied. Of course she wasn't okay! This guy must be some demigod who decided he would suddently talk about monsters! Then the whole name incident definently doesn't give him trust points, and to add to that she wasn't sure why Leon lied to her and it made her nervous.

"Why didn't you just show her, then?" he asked, nearly laughing that Leon hadn't thought of showing her he was actually a lion. He was completely unaware Tori thought Leon was a child of Hecate. Then, turning, he asked, "You don't believe in monsters?"

Leon recovered, straightening himself, feeling slightly wounded. He let out a huff, "I'm not stupid, of course I showed her. It even showed her my skin. I frickin swung a sword at my own arm!" He protested.

Tori froze "Of course not. The thought is ridiculous and childish. You might as well as me if I believe in Peter Pan or that the Tooth Fairy goes to my room every night to rob me of my teeth," her voice was clear and strong. Her hazel eyes flickered with annoyence and a challenge. Why were they so persistent that monsters are real?

Arcane laughed. "What was your explanation?" he asked Tori, not feeling he hadn't talked to her, enough, other than with the intent of eating her. He couldn't believe how stubborn she was with her beliefs. Maybe she was just raised that way or maybe it was her convincing herself to keep her sanity.

Leon narrowed his gray eyes. He was making Tori uncomfortable. "Stop it! If she doesn't believe it, then she doesn't. Are we almost there yet, Carter?" He made sure he said his name right this time. He didn't know why he was helping his friend cover, since Tori really didn't need to be lied to. there was no one around anymore, anyway. The neighborhood was quiet and empty.

Tori was feeling rather annoyed "An explanation? Well the plain out truth obviously he's a demigod, like myself. And obviously your starting to get on my nerves," she snapped. From scared to angry. Maybe she was a bit bipolar...then again this monster subject was something consistently drilled into her and her father had hired enough help to convince her their was no such. Until now when no hired help was available...

Arcane rolled his eyes at Leon and Tori, sensing the son of the Nemean Lion's feelings for the demigod. "Alright, just curious," he laughed, walking on. "And we're not far, it's just ahead." He only knew the general location of the street, honestly, but he was sure that was sufficient to get them close to where they needed to be. "So, a Demeter kid did that to ya?" he asked Leon, desperate to keep talking.
