Arcane took the hilt, studying it for anything that would give anything away. Then, an idea struck him. "And you say Issac saved you with this?" he called, knowing she had wandered off to another part of the house. "Did he stab the monster?"

Jackie looked back "Yeah. He stabbed it..." she told him turning to him for a moment before turning back and picking up some random stuff before setting it back down. Memories flooding in. She frowned. Wondering if anybody took anything from her beloved house, the 'haunted' house according to mortals.

"Then there would be a trail of blood," he said, looking at the stairs. "You said both your parents died in your room, correct?" He hoped that Jackie didn't take that as insensitively as he realized it sounded. He wanted to apologize and reword what he'd said but he kept his mouth shut in fear of saying something worse.

Jackie nodded not really paying much attention to him as she continued her aimless recollection of memories. Why couldn't her life be the way it was before? When it was nice and easy, no worries, not frets. It was soo easy...but now...now it was torture. Her eyes then trailed to the shadows. Eyes narrowing suspiciously, she was a bit paranoid. She studied all shadows to be sure she didn't run into the monster that made her paranoid again.

Arcane was about to say something but realized Jackie wasn't really paying attention. So, he walked over to her, laying a hand on her arm. "Then whose blood is that?" he asked, pointing to the red stairway. "The monster got away but it left a trail. Or, so, it left a small trail. No doubt once it gets outside, the red is gone." He said the last two sentences practically to himself, wondering where it would lead. Maybe, if they were lucky, the trail would lead to an exit that would also explain how it had gotten in.

Jackie jumped slightly. "Um...I don't remember. Their could've been blood on my shoes as I ran down. Or I could've gotten hurt..." she shrugged not knowing what else to say as she continued messing with her father's things. Picking up a pen she vlicked it and pretended to sign a piece of paper "This used to be my father's favorite..."

Arcane took hold of the pen, gently, and set it down on a table, lightly tugging at Jackie's arm. "Come on, I think I may have made a break through," he grinned. He hoped he was right and this would be something important and not just blood from Jackie. No, there was too much blood on the steps to be from a little girl without her remembering it and too much for it to have come from the bottom of her shoes. It had to be the monster's.

Jackie looked at Arcane frowning slightly when he took the pen. Picking it back up she stuck it in her pocket and followed. "Ohh ok. So what did you find?" she asked him curiosly. She was glad she wasn't here alone. Because if she was she probable would still be standing in the doorway or the office.

"Like I said, whose blood might that be? It's not your parents' and it's not your own - you would remember bleeding that much even if you weren't paying attention to it at the time." Walking slowly up the steps, he studied the blood, taking in the scent as discreetly as he could. It was definitely monster blood, he could tell that much from the fading smell. "It can't be from your shoes - there's too much of it," he explained, acting as if he didn't know it was the blood of a monster. "I doubt Issac was injured if he surprised it, which I expect any demigod in their right mind would do. That only leaves one other body it could have possibly come from."

Jackie shrugged “I dunno…” but as he continued explained she snapped her fingers pointing at him with a grin “I see where you are going. You think it might be the monster’s.” she told him then cocked her head to the side studying the blood trail. How much blood does a monster need? Geesh… “Do you think it’s half human? Because usually they don’t bled a lot…” she told him pointing at how the blood stains seemed to just continue spreading across the floor.

Arcane shrugged as if saying 'it's possible but I really don't know'. But in all reality, his mind was buzzing with possibilities. If this monster was half mortal, looked exactly like him and was terrorizing little girls it was probably someone he knew - one of his half-siblings. But he had so many it was difficult to keep track of each of them. One lived up at Niagara, one out in Phoenix, Arizona. One lived down in Virginia with another in a small town in Ohio. One even lived down in Brazil and spoke Portuguese. None, however, lived anywhere around Manhattan other than him. None that he knew of, at least.

Jackie studyied him silently "What are you thinking about?" She asked noting he was very silent. Jackie figured he must be trying to match the evidence wig someone he knew. What else could be be doing??

"Nothing," Arcane replied, immediately. "I mean, I'm trying to figure out how significant this is. Just... nothing important," he sighed. Making his way to the top of the stairs, he saw that the blood ventured down the hallway and into another room down at the end. "The trail leads that way," he said, pointing, as if it weren't obvious.

Max shrugged at his fast reaction deciding better than to ask. And instead walked down the hall "wouldn't it have been faster out the door..." she muttered wondering why the beast went through her house.

"Too many witnesses," Arcane commented, following the trail into a master bedroom with a blood-stained silver blade laying in the middle. "Plus, you and Issac were probably there and it was trying to get away from you so I doubt it'd run right past you." Picking up the sword, he studied it for a moment to see if there was anything he could gather from it before setting it on a nightstand coated with ten years' worth of dust. "It went out that window, over there," he concluded, noting the blood trail that ended by it.
