Leon tilted his head, glaring a bit hatefully at the mist because he couldn't help it. The stuff was just dislikable. He refrained from speaking, sealing his lips tightly. Half because he didn't want to give away his position and half because he didn't want to know what theist tasted like. Then he followed the blood scent and identified Arcane, swining out again.

And, once again, Arcane blocked it, though the force hurt his side. But he ignored it, slashing back before retreating, once more. He realized that he stood no chance, continuing like this. So, he figured it was now or never to reveal his family resemblance with his dragon father. His clothes and sword, which would return as they were once he reverted to his mortal self, evaporated into a mist, his canine teeth growing into fangs and his fingernails and toenails into claws. His gray eyes grew and lightened into a pearly white. The rest of him was covered in a black mist, darker than that of the normal mist he could control while mortal. Being in his dragon form allowed him to easier use his powers of the hazy fog surrounding him.
Now, he could see right through the black mist and saw Leon not far away. Bracing himself, Arcane readied for another attack, this time ending with things different than they were, before.

Leon chased after Arcane readily as he tried to escape. That was when he stopped. arcane had begun to change. suddenly, Leon sensed not a human sized monster, but a monster in its real form. "What in the...sudden growth spurt much?" He asked into the mist.
He still couldn't see because of the mist, and that kind of frustrated him. Leon was curious as to what Arcane looked like in his real form. As a son of Ladon, he had to be a dragon, but he still preferred to know what he was fighting before he attacked. Noting the size of claws and stuff would be helpful. He stood still, doubtful that he wanted to just charge in recklessly attacking at an opponent with a larger size advantage.

Seeing Leon stop, Arcane grinned as best he could, wishing he could send back a witty reply or something. But he couldn't speak in this form and it was difficult to just change back, momentarily, to say something before reverting to his dragon form. Instead, he spread his wings and silently rose into the air as high as the tunnel and his still bleeding wound would allow.
He wasn't going to attack - not yet. He would wait a few more moments to see what Leon would do, now that he could see. Eventually, he would attack and reveal his true power but, for now, he would linger at the fringes of the mist, watching... waiting....

Leon looked up, following the scent. Arcane was on the move, and it bothered him. He was obviously being hunted here in the dark, and you could say he was beginning to become cautious. Not really afraid, just very alert. He raised his sword intentively, looking up. There was nothing to see because of the mist, but he could scent the blood traveling upwards. His opponent had wings. "Lucky..." Leon muttered, slipping a hand into his pocket. He had fought flying monsters before. He came prepared. A small little pebble didn't seem like much, did it? But it would help him pin point him. He tossed up the flat rock in his hand, and swung his sword like a baseball bat, sending it in Arcane's direction. He sprang, catlike, onto the side of the tunnel. The broken part of a wall giving him a ledge to stand on. He paused. He couldn't just jump up and grab onto his tail or whatever he could find. He would be at a great disadvantage in the air.

The rock hit Arcane in the chest, a foot from the wound. Wincing, he didn't realize the rock was used to find where he was. He thought of it as a weapon. It hurt like a weapon, forcing him to muffle a yelp. But looking down, opening his eyes, again, from the pain, he saw Leon had moved. He wasn't where he had been the moment before.
(Sorry it's so short...)

Leon heard it. Even if it was a slight sound, his keen ears would never had missed it in the silence. The stone had made a softer sound than hitting the roof of the tunnel or the floor. He had hit Arcane. Now knowing his location, he decided to take the risk after all. He began to change, turning into a fully sized lion. Before he was large enough to not fit on the ledge, he sprang into the air. His form turning agile and lithe. A heavy king of beasts weighing enough to maybe cause Arcane to land on the ground again. He tried to get a claw, or something on him as he sailed thrombin the air in his direction. Little did he know that Arcane could actually see through the mist.

Arcane had heard the sound of stirred dust as someone leaped from their position. Flinging his head around, Arcane spotted Leon jumping from the very ledge he had been on a few minutes ago. He had begun to change into a lion, which surprised Arcane, though he knew it should have been obvious seeing as how nearly all mortal-looking monsters have an actual monster form. Luckily, he saw Leon coming and flew forward a few feet, curling his tail to avoid Leon catching onto that, making sure he was out of the range of the lion.

Leon had missed, but it confirmed one thing he couldn't have earlier. Obviously Arcane could see through the mist. He landed gently on the ground, turning to look back upwards in his direction. If he wasn't going to come, obviously this fight was going to stay at a standstill. He just felt lucky that Arcane hadn't thought of swinging his tail like a baseball bat to knock him out of the air.
Leon morphed back into his human form, stretching uncomfortably. His swod returned to his hilt and of course his clothes were still there. How to continue then?

Arcane watched with amusement, letting down on the ledge Leon had been on a moment ago. He cleared away the mist around them, other than the mist directly around Arcane of which he refused always refused to let go for reason's he'd forgotten over the centuries. All that could be seen were his white eyes and a dark shape within the haze. Letting out a small roar, not earsplitting but not a whisper, either, he leaped off the ledge and toward Leon.

Leon tensed as the big mass of mist seemed to shift and clear away. He watched the area where he could sense Arcane, and it dissipated somewhat. He was surprised to see that actually, Arcane wasn't as large as he had assumed. But he wasn't small either. His lion form wouldn't match up to him right now. Beginning to hesitate, he stared at Arcane somewhat warily, holding his sword up in front of him. When the dragon leapt out at him, Leon's smoky gray eyes widened a little. He sprang to the side, out of the way. How to attack, exactly?

Arcane had missed, but landed perfectly, turning his eyes on his opponent. His would still stung but it would heal in time. He wanted to make some snide remark about how Leon stood no chance or was wishing Arcane had called it quits, earlier. Alas, he could not. It was impossible for him to speak while a dragon, so he made up for it with a menacing growl, awaiting Leon's next move.

Leon looked at the dragon, pausing for a moment to catch his breath. He stared at Arcane hesitantly, wondering if he had just run out of options. It had been a long time since he had run out of ideas. Then he got one. It could end up sending him to Tartarus instead of winning, but who cared? Risks just made it more fun.
Leon turned and ran back and hopped onto the ledge. He landed, swinging his sword playfully. "Come and get me, big dragon."

Arcane would've shaken his head in shame for ever talking to Leon after he said what he did. Instead, though, he lifted off and flew toward the son of the Nemean Lion, teeth bared, though Leon wouldn't be able to see them through the mist that surrounded Arcane.

Leon scented Arcane coming. He jumped up just as he burst out of the mist into view. He leapt off the wall at the roof of the tunnel. He slammed an iron fist into the top of the tunnel. Bits of rock rained down as a distraction. He was sent tumbling down onto the floor, though he landed on his arm, which didn't hurt him. The impact still stunned him for a moment, though. He turned and shot his sword as hard as he could at the area where Arcane was.
