Irissia bared her teeth when he called her a puppy. Sure she was small and cute. But that was like calling her kid. Turning around she flicked her ears beckoning him to follow. Her blue eyes ahead as age trotted through the streets, with Arcabe who would appear to be some sort of owner. Then she paused. A police man pulling up as if to check and see if she was alone. Not wanting the pound to be called she trotted back to Carter and practically nudged his hand with a moist nose as if she were a dog.
Seeing an owner the police man called at Arcabe "you should put a collar and leash on your dog! Nearly thought he was a stray!" the fact the guy called her a he made her growl. Her blue eyes glaring at the oblivious police officer. Well that's New York...collar and leesh...yuck. Her head shook as she then started trotting away towards an animal shelter and past a pet store. Then pausing she looked back to check if her monster 'owner' was following.

Arcane threw his hands in the air in surrender as she bared her teeth. Then, she began to walk and Arcane followed. When the policeman pulled up he nodded. "I had one but it got caught on a branch and broke, earlier, so I threw it away in a trash can a while back and am taking her home, now," he grinned, innocently, adding emphasis to the 'her' in the statement after he noticed Irissia's growl. Stepping up, he pet the dog, saying, "Now, Pepper, you be a good girl, okay?" Then, in a whisper, he added, "You so owe me for this."
Then, the dog began to trot away as Arcane followed, wondering where she was going.

Irissia let him pet her then nipped his hand. Sure it would look kind and loving. But it was a warning as if saying in responce. 'you should be thankful I'm not biting your hand' and off she went with a trot. Past the pet store. Then their was a squeak. Like any other dog Irissia loved playing and without thinking padded in past the collars and leashes and towards the squeaky toys. And the...bones. Yup. Delicious bones. She would have but one, but she was quite full and more interested in the squeaky soccer ball the little boy threw down. Bending down and picking it up she began biting it. The shopkeeper hissing in frustration as she tried to take it from the now growling Irissia. The lady looking around wildly for the dog's owner. Seeing Arcane she practically snarled "Your dog must be watched and on a leash. We can't have dogs playing with our supplies. I'm going to have to ask you buy the squeaky toy," Irissia padding up to Carter and laying down as she tried and unsuccessfully tried to tear the ball apart. Oblivious to Arcane and his current problem.

Arcane nodded, pulling out a wallet he'd taken from a doomed mortal, as well as the mortal's money. He always carried mortal money around with him after an incident about a century ago in which he was trying to get close to a mortal but, in order to do so, had to buy something. Since he had no money, his goals had been set back a few days, in which time he gave up and attacked a weak, old mortal - something he would never do again as 1. canes hurt, and 2. old meat is stringy.
Taking out a ten, he handed it to the woman and picked up a bone, as well. "That should be more than enough to pay for the ball, this bone, and any trouble. I'm sorry she acted this way. Pepper is usually such a good dog." Waving goodbye, he patted Irissia's back, telling her it was time to go. Not waiting, however, he began to walk out the door. "I got a bone," he smiled, coaxing her out of the store and to where they needed to be, wherever that may be. "And next time you bite my hand," he whispered so only Irissia cold hear, "I'll make sure it's full of poison."

Irissia glared at Arcane and say still wrapping her paws over her new toy protectively and forgetting what she was doing. Her blue eyes narrowing at the monster and his bones. Flicking around she headed towards the rows of bones as if saying 'there are more bones here. So why would I go there.' the storekeeper snickering at Arcane's failed attempt.
Irissia layed back down messing with the soccer ball now and wondering how she got the name Pepper. She didn't recall making people sneeze...
Holding onto the toy she stated at Arcane and watched him. Her head cocking to the side slightly. Poison? She would've laughed. But instead continued toying with her toy. The shopkeeper laughing "Tried a leash yet? Or fetch?" she asked leaning against the counter and making sure Irissia wasn't biting the bones.

Arcane grinned at the shopkeeper's words as he returned. He knew he'd be mauled for this by Irissia, but he nodded, picking out a sky blue leash with little cartoon dogs on it and a matching collar. He knew this would embarrass Irissia so it would be perfect. Now, he needed an explanation for buying such a cute little leash and collar. "It's my little sister's dog so she'll love this," he smiled, taking out his wallet, again. "Here's six dollars," he smiled. "I think that's enough with tax and everything. If not, I gave you extra for the bone and ball." Walking over to Irissia, slowly an cautiously, he made a sudden movement, snapping the collar around her and grabbing onto it in an attempt to connect the leash. "I probably should have connected the leash to the collar before I put the collar on," he said, smiling.

Seeing the collar Irissia zipped forward feeling it tighten against her neck. But the leash miss as she abandoned her you and sprinted to the opposite end of the store. The collar being itchy and agitating and she squirmed and tried to get it off. Her glare back as her ears were pressed against her head threateningly as she glared at Arcabe. Then at her toy. She crouched low as if waiting Arcane to move so she could go get her ball then avoid the leash.

Arcane grinned as kindly as he could through the frustration. "Pepper..." he said, giving Irissia one of those 'come here or you'll be put in your cage when we get home for misbehaving' looks. "Come here, Pepper." Turning to the shopkeeper, though still watching Irissia out of the corner of his eye, he laughed. "Now, once I have a leash on her or she's at home, she's the best dog you can ask for. Once she manages to get off her leash, though, well..." he said, indicating Irissia's behavior. Taking one step forward, he was ready to spring at the dog/monster/girl if she tried to run.

The shopkeeper shook his head as if she wouldn't believe him. But decided to watch along with some customers who were laughing at Arcane's petty attempt to get his dog. Irissia baring her teeth at him threateningly. Obviously not helping his case as she crouched lower. If he leapt forward she would spring to get her toy. If not shed have to lure him away.

Arcane sighed, taking a few more steps. He would ask some of the customers to block any possible escape routes but he didn't know if Irissia would attack them or not and he wasn't about to take the chance. "Come here, girl," he said as if talking to a dog which, as far as any of the mortals knew, was exactly what he was doing. Why does she have to do this? he wondered. After all, when he changed into a dragon, he didn't go breathing fire on poor peasant towns only to be slain by some Prince Charming so why did Irissia have to act like a dog?

Irissia slipped past him when he stepped forward and got her toy crouching and waging her tail. The people laughing "Awe looks like your husky likes to play." A guy said between laughs. Irissia was like a mknjtire wolf. Soft and fierce. But she was a dog so she loved playing. The only reason she counted as a monster was because she was part magical mythical gifted dog. Irissia was different than the other monsters. For one she was owned by a goddess, Aphrodite. Second she was also friend of another goddess, Arthemis. Third she was more dog than monster. Her mythical blood usually more powerful in human form.

Arcane sighed and sat down on the floor. "Pepper, come on, it's time to go home," he said. He paid no attention to the customers as they should be going about their own business, anyways. Instead, he was completely focusing on ways to get Irissia to do as she was supposed to. "Why can't you keep your doors pet-proof?" he asked the shopkeeper. He wasn't even sure why he was doing this. It wasn't like she couldn't look after herself. She wasn't even a real dog. She was a monster or mythical beast or whatever she wanted to be called. Honestly, he liked the rude, untrusting Irissia better than the annoyingly playful puppy before him.

Irissia dashed away from Arcane and towards the man who spoke. Who pulled the toy away from her and practically teased her with it. Irissia completely forgetting what she was doing about half an hour ago as she jumped and tried tl catch the ball the man threw at Arcane. Irissia dashing after it quickly. Irissia if anything was quick. Her blue eyes were slightly lighter now and she didn't seem to hate anyone. Not even the strange monster on the floor.

Arcane laughed, catching the ball. Maybe if Irissia had the same mindset as a dog, she would be just as gullible. "I'll see you all later, I just got an idea," he grinned. "Thank you," he told the man before darting out the door, keeping the ball low and her bone and leash in the other hand. "Come get the ball," he grinned, hoping she would follow and he wouldn't screw things up, again.

Irissia was about to catch the ball when Arcane took it. Chasing after Arcane she lunged for the ball. Her furry tail wagging as she moved quickly. The customers clapping at his final success. Irissisa's light eyes locked onto the ball.
