Mr. D then faced the other campers "Any more volunteers? Or should I pick some? We have enough space!" his green eyes scanning them for any sign of nervousness or fear among the crowd so he could single them out and try to humiliate them.

Zeke was regretting his protest to the no powers rule. Leaping back, he dodged the strike, but he didn't retaliate. He would bide his time and dodge and parry any attacks Renate threw at him.

This was it. This was her chance. And who knows, maybe her opponent would go easy on her. Hesitantly, Skylar raised an arm. "I volunteer," she said quietly. When it came out in barely a squeak, Skylar repeated louder, "I volunteer!"

Renate watched Zeke. He wasn't attacking. Which meant either A, he didn't feel the need to and was over confident, which she believed unlikely. B, he just didn't know how to use a sword, which she found pretty stupid. C, he was trying to make her fight herself until she was tired, which wasn't going to happen for a long time. Of which she would keep him running as well.
A smile she laughed "No offense? Come on, don't bore me. I'm sure you aren't completely useless without your powers." she spun her sword awaiting his attack with amusement.

Zeke didn't reply, but merely stepped back and to the side, slightly. He knew he would have to attack or Renate would be on to his plan. You can't outdo a child of Ares when it came to fighting when your biggest advantage wasn't allowed to be used. So, Zeke swung the blade toward his opponent, preparing himself for total humiliation. Anyone who laughed, however, would be frozen to the nearest tree. After all, Mr. D only said he wasn't allowed to use his powers in the tournament. Freezing a person to a tree isn't part of the tournament, so, it was perfectly permitted. Ah, loopholes. Gotta love 'em!

Renate frowned "Can't you do better?" she asked her eyes showing her disappointment as she easily deflected the blade and with her left foot stepped forward to swip his legs out from under him. A simple self-defense move she learned at the age of 10. If he fell it would be fairly easy from there. If not well then he would stagger and she could press forward until he did collapse. The bigger the enemy the harder they fall no?
She sighed. This was like fighting a 6 year old "You know when people said they needed to avoid a fight with you or Silver I figured you would be something difficult. But no, it's just...boring. Rather like fighting a child..." she frowned her disappointment clear. She hadn't fought Silver yet, but this just disappointed her so much that she didn't think she wanted to...

Silene chuckled, watching the tournament when Mr. D asked for volunteers. She drew herself up to her full height with a prideful, icy green glare at Skylar who had volunteered first. "If no one will fight, I will." In other words, she was calling others cowards for not wanting to fight. The thin crystal clear sword at her side was shimmering in the light.

Zeke dodged the swipe, narrowly, as, though he wasn't the best sword-fighter, he did know not to swing a sword to the point where you are unbalanced. When he learned it, he couldn't remember. It seemed to just be one of those instinctual notions embedded into his head. "Maybe you'd like me to freeze your arm," he replied. "Then, we'll see how you fight."

Renate chuckled "Id find an advantage to that. Plus it might make fighting you a bit more interesting. Though I find your lack in knowing how to sword fighting surprising."
Silver's eyes narrowed at Silene but she didn't go forward wanting yo watch the fights before taking part in one.

Mr. D smiled "Good!! Skylar vs. Silene, lets make this a bit more interesting. " as if awaiting a signal the large vines shot up making something like a high ropes course. "Anybody else? We want everybody participating!" His green eyes amused as he planned a sky battle where the next two opponents will fight while on pegasi.

Zeke sighed, quietly. "I can't find a sword that fits, right. None of them have the balance I'm used to," he explained, which meant he must've been in a good mood, as he didn't often explain things to others.

Renate laughed "picky much? I can use every weapon, that I know of at least." As she spoke she thrust the sword forward letting go of it she hoped it will inflict some damage. Round house kicking age aimed for his head a second after letting go of the sword. Her brown eyes didn't show her giving any effort. The sword she had to admit was heavy which slowed. Her down but inflicted a lot more damage that the daggers she usually used.
Silver laughed. A sky war? How fun she was up for that. Twirling her clear sword age stood up and walked towards Mr. D who age supposed would be her half brother as well. "I'm up for that challenge " age said fearlessly.

Silene stepped up, eyeing the vines with a raised eyebrow. A missed footing, and anyone would not get a good step and their leg would slip through the holes in between. Out of all her skills, Silene credited her balance the most. Her crystal sword shimmered a pure white, ready in combat mode. The daughter of Khoine sprang upwards lightly, landing on one of the thick vines, awaiting Skylar to come join her.

Skylar's confidence immediately wavered as Silene volunteered. She had heard plenty of rumors about the daughter of Khoine, and she didn't like how she pictured the fight was going to turn out. Hands slightly shaking, the daughter of Athena took a weapon. It had a fairly long, thin silver blade, and was a bit light, but it was the most balanced weapon she had found at this camp yet.
Skylar sprang onto a vine a few feet away from Silene, stumbling slightly and grabbing another vine for balance, then got into position. The daughter of Athena glanced nervously at the vines. She was sure they would hold, since they had been made with a god's power, but make one mistake, one wrong step, and you're dead. Skylar hadn't been too bad at gymnastics, and maybe if she could use surprise to her advantage, she just might be able to land a scratch on Silene. But maybe it was best to just focus on not falling. Besides, this ropes-er, vines course was far from normal, in addition to the fact that there was no harness.
Facing the white-haired girl, Skylar managed a smile. It sucked that she had less training than most of the kids at this camp.

Zeke was about to laugh in response, but sidestepped and ducked, simultaneously, instead to avoid contact. "You're Ares's daughter! Of course you can fight with whatever weapon gets thrown at you," he said, realizing Renate had finally made a bad move, leaving herself without a weapon other than her own body. "Some of us aren't that lucky." Seeing for the first time that the others had some type of abnormality in their match such as pegasi or vine courses, Zeke wondered how he managed to always be so unlucky. He could fight a little better if he had an advantage, which either of those could have given him.
