Shade dove to the side just as Kat mentioned biology. He cursed at himself for not paying attention.
"Dark! Go track her!" Shade gave Terry a nasty glare. This person was not someone he knew. Just someone he had to kill. He threw his sword at the rooted Terry. How convenient of the girl to help him. his right sword fizzed to life and he grabbed it. He would materialize the other first.

(Hwa! Terry isn't going to let that happen!!! He will chase KATTTT!!! XD)
Terry blinked in surprise. The roots... "Kat! What are you-" They took off running, chasing her. He gritted his teeth in frustration. He knocked aside the sword Shade had thrown at him. The looke he had given him had made Terry's heart throb with pain. Shade hated him.
Terry had no choice. He whirled his staff, and the edges grew out into long blades. He slashed aside the thick roots, then pulled at them. His wings flapped, and he was soon free. He shot after Shade. "I don't think so! I said you'll have to kill me first!" He zipped through the air in front of Shade.

Kat's annoyence was clear when she heard Terry's voice approach. Smiling she felt the presence of Shade's 'lutenant'
"How about we settle this privately?" she said is a icy voice. Touching a tree she did something she knew Terry couldn't, but Shade could. This way they could get rid of the boy who, in her eyes, was about to go get himself killed for a reason that didn't pertain to him.
Plant traveling is exhausting. So when she popped out a tree ways away from Terry she sat still for a moment, listening to hopefully hear Shade, and not Terry's wings. Keeping away from shadows she stood in the moonlight making thorns grow where her own shadow was. A safety precaution.

The creature let out a hiss. It slipped into the shadows, following Kat. He was a shadow. He lived in them. A shade was a rare monster to come across, and he was one of the more powerful kind of his breed. He melted out from a shadow, fingers like sharp knives. Claw like fingers extending. He slashed out at Kat from behind.
Shade turned around in annoyance at the sound of the boy. He shot a ball of flame at him in frustration.

Terry grinned as his attention turned to him. He wasn't going to let Kat face them herself. He would never leave her. He flew out of the way as Shade shot some flames at him. He returned by throwing a few rocks he had taken from the ground. He threw each with precision from the air. "Come get me!"

Shade blinked. It was dark, so he could barely see the rocks. He deflected them off his black flaming blade. He flew? Well, he kind of remembered...that...
Terry had fallen last time he had accidentally set up a flaming wall.
Where had that memory come from? But it was useful. He created a tall flame that burned hot. It created a thick cloud of smoke blowing directly into the flying son of Hermes.

What the-? The smoke blew directly into his face, making him choke for a moment. The wings flapped once, covered in soot. When they were dirty, they were blinded in perception. Like he was right now...Crap!
Terry plunged out of the air. He reached out, knocking off the ash on one wing and coughing at the same time. One more wing...

Kat wasn't deaf so the panicked whispers of flowers really sent ger diving forward. Spinning around she faced the shadow. No use fighting it. Deciding on how to follow her mother's instructions she looked around trying to find water. How was Persephone useful during these times?
Glancing at the shadow she said "So why does Hades send you after me now? Why not before?" she asked hoping to stall some time.

Shade watched as Terry began to fall out of the sky. Looks like it had worked. He shot his sword straight at him. He wasn't paying attention anyway. All of a sudden, right after he threw the sword, he got a strange feeling. Like he had lost all of his energy. His hands began to shake involuntarily. And a red pain flashed out from his back. He winced, sitting down at the sudden weakness. He felt like he could barely stand. So this was what Dark was talking about...

"There falls a bird..." a flower whispered keeping her updated on Terry. Frowning she looked at Dark "Why is Shade wasting his time on the son of Hermes? " she didn't want Terry hurt, which was the whole point of the plant travel and get Shade away thing. But obviously he was still with him. The idiot, why didn't he leave when she told him to?

Terry hadn't seen the sword until the last moment. He knocked off the last bit of black powder from the wings and he swooped upright...just in Tim for the sword to make a slash across his side. Terry yelled out in pain and surprise. He tumbled out of the air, clutching his burning side. The blade had opened a cut. The flame had caught onto his arm. He quickly slipped off his jacket. And rolled to the side to avoid the rest of the fire. He held onto his bleeding side.

Dark glared at Kat. "Because of the boy. I had convinced the Lord that he wasn't being like he should be. He was acting all kind and shy. It was disgusting. And your mother is good at keeping secrets, girl." The creature turned suddenly, as if he sensed Shade's drop in power. The monster let out a hiss and Kat and backed up into a shadow.
He melted away and reappeared next to his master. Shade was slumped against a tree, trying to catch his breathe from the sudden exhaustion. "I told you, sir. You used too much power. We should go back. The Lord has the power to heal you."
Shade looked up at Dark, then at Terry who was on the ground. "Do you want me to finish him off for you?" The shade had noticed Shade's glance.
"Do what you want." Shade replied coldly. This made Dark grin his sly grin. His claw like fingers were sharper than knives as he walked towards Terry.

As soon as Dark disappeared she touched the nearest plant and got to Terry. Eyes narrowing in the smoke. Coughing she waved her hand and saw Terry's arm. Dashing over she glared at Shade
"Shade! Terry is your best friend! He was the one that helped you cope with Dodge's death!"

"Dodge?" Shade sat up slowly, pushing against the tree. "I don't know a Dodge..." He sounded really confused.
Dark hissed at Kat as she appeared next to Terry. "Best friend indeed! This best friend gave him his scar!" His words made Shade even more confused on who to believe. But he knew Dark better.

Terry was gasping. Wow. He didn't know it hurt this much to be hit by Shade's sword. Those flames had been really painful. Terry's vision was blurry, but he could make out Kat. He reached out a hand that grabbed onto her sleeve. A gesture to keep her from leaving his side. He wasn't going to let her leave...
