Terry blinked in surprise at his voice. Shade's eyes were...black? Weren't they hazel? something was controlling him. Terry took a step back at the same time he stepped forward. None of his words made sense. He threw a quick glance back at Kat. What could she lie to him about? He smiled at whatever was possessing his friend. "I don't care if Kat lied to me, as long as it isn't about cheating." He cracked the joke, following up with a quick and nervous laugh. "Now get out of Shade."

The demon laughed at his words. "Naive, my child, naive. That is your fatal flaw." His sword disappeared in a hiss of smoke. He jabbed a finger into Terry's chest. "My dear boy. blind trust will be your downfall. Do you even know who this "Shade" is? He never existed in real life. The person you knew is very much gone. He will regain his old self and his old memories. And when that happens, you can no longer trust him anymore because of your girlfriend's lie." His black eye bore into his blue ones, digging into his mind. His words were aimed at his darkest fears. His eyes were hypnotizing. "I pity you. You seem to be closest and trust the people you are least trustable in your life."
Shade was walking along the darkness. He had remembered everything from his past. He remembered that he used to live in the Underworld. He used to work for his father. He was actually a cold and logical person. A person that acted on rationality. He didn't make friends. But who was he now? He was so confused. He had two identities. They were fighting against each other for control. His mind seemed to flicker on the boundary of both.
Terry, Kat, Jasper, and Matt. He remembered all of them. Their images appeared in his mind. He reached out a hand...and it slowly began to disappear from his view. Starting from his fingertips, they seemed to turn to dust and slowly blow away. What was going on? When he gained the memory back of his past, was he to forget what had happened ever since he went to camp? What was the camp's name anyway? Who were these people again? There was something about an important quest....

Kathrine was getting frustrated. Making vines grow to tie him up she gripped the large thorn. "Will slicing you open unleash Shade?" she said her voice slick, icy, and foreign as she stared at him with blazing green eyes. Trees started sprouting from the ground and their roots grew out their branches down as if grabbing Shade.

The look on Terry's face was a mix of confusion, annoyance, and nervousness. This guys seemed to know exactly what to say to make him stumble. He knew what bothered him. And he didn't like it. Terry blinked at the plants growing in agitation. Kat. She wouldn't lie to him, would she? The wings on his shoes fluttered nervously.

The shade laughed at Terry's expression. It was priceless. He loved messing with people's minds. They were fragile things. No matter how positive the person, they always had their doubts. He turned to Kat. "Then why don't you try it? You cannot trust this person anymore anyway. When he reawakens and regains his memories, he will be a completely different person! And his goal will be to destroy you, Kathrine Woods."
My name is....Shade. Aaron Shade. My mentor Dodge named me that. He raised me. I went to camp and met Terry, his brother. He is my best friend. I'm on a quest. With my friends. With Kat and Matt and Jasper and Terry. They are my friends. I have to make sure we all stay alive. I have to make sure we succeed. I trust them. We will save the camp...
But why do I want to save the camp?
I dnt know. I'm confused. Wait, who do I trust again? Everyone is covered in deceit. None of those people are who I think they are. I've already...forgotten their names...Wait, what was I doing? Where am I? Wasn't I...?
Calm down. I know who I am. My name is Aaron Shade. I go by Shade. I live in the Underworld with my dad. Dark is my assistant. He's a shade. A dark daemon. I was raised and taught how to fight by the fury Alecto. I'm still here... Now, why am I sleeping again?
The shade grinned. "He's almost done, both of you. I suggest you hurry up and kill him along with me. Because my goal is to destroy all of you." With that, he pointed a finger at Terry. A large column of black flame erupted and leapt forth straight at the son of Hermes.

kathrine wouldn't let this end lunging forward she knocked Terry out of the way. Her green eyes wide as the flames began collapsing. In haste she grabbed a flower and reappeared by a flower near Shade. With the torn in her hand she was hissed at Shade "Do you actually think you can kill me?" the ground burst with life, colums of vines covered in flowers. Twisting trees. In a voice only audible by Shade she hissed "I don't need to kill you. You're a waste of my time" torn in her hand died and she turned around to find Terry.

Terry was mesmerized by his voice. His eyes were whispering death into him. It was time... It was time... It was time-
That's when he was knocked out of the way by Kat. He blinked back in action as the column of flame shot past his face and over him. He sat dumbfounded for a while before scrambling to his feet. He watched as vines and plants exploded to life around him. He gripped his staff tightly to guard. His pale blue eyes searched for Kat and Shade.

"Strong." He mused. "Even though you're not the daughter of the goddess of harvest herself."
He grinned wickedly, saying it loud enough for Terry to hear. He raised his arms. Black flame erupted column after column. The crackling fire consumed the plants around him, incinerating them to the ground.
Suddenly, the shade stopped. Hid black eyes flickered to hazel, then back. He lowered his arms, then a voice that was pure Shade and not the shade's sounded.
"Get out, Dark. Who told you to use me?"
Yes, it was definately Shade's voice, but there was something off. Its tone was cold and merciless. Like he had the whole world to blame for any bitterness he had experienced in life.
Fear entered the shade's eyes. He turned to Terry and Kathrine with a crazy grin. "Ha! You both are doomed! He has awakened!"
"Get out. Who are you even talking to?"
The shade let out a screech and melted away. The creature leapt out of the shadow of the demigod. The figure was of pure darkness, with beady red eyes. The creature took on the shape of a human. He stepped back in salute to Shade.
The son of Hades blinked. It seemed familiar here, but he wouldn't understand why. He only remembered that he had lived in the Underworld all his life. He only came up to the world of living to do his father's tasks. That meant he was here for his father's tasks, right? He looked at Shadow.
"What does the old man want me to do now?"
His voice was slick and confident. It held no gentle, or shy Shade. He looked at Terry and Kat. His hazel eyes were glaring at the two.
"And who are you people?"

Kat opened her mouth shocked. "Shade? It's us Terry and Kat. We're your friends, we're working on a quest together..." she said her voice soft and gentle. Her green eys flashing from dangerous to worried. Taking a step morward she made the plants come back up, slowly and gently to calm the tension in the air.

"Quest?" Shade looked at the two demigods before him. He turned back to the shade. "What is she talking about, Dark? Who are these people?"
The creature grinned and pointed. "Theyre people the Lord wants you to illuminate, of course. The girl is the top priority because of her mother. You should know, right?"
Shade was silent for a while, his cold hazel eyes studying his two former friends. He didn't know either. He didn't care. "Let's just get this done with so I can go back home and feed Cerberus." He aimed a column of flame at Kat.

Terry blinked at the shade's words. "Even thought you are not the daughter of the goddess of harvest herself. But she was. Kat was the daughter of Demeter, right?" He didn't have time to figure it out because all of a sudden, Shade was back in control.
His relief was immediately replaced by horror. "Who are these people, Dark?" He didn't know? Those words hurt Terry a lot. He didn't know? The wings on his shoes fluttered nervously. They suddenly launched him forward. He grabbed Kat out of the way of Shade's sudden attack. "Shade! What are you doing? It's us! Its me! Terry!"
Terry set Kat down farther from them. He had a sick feeling in his stomach. It was the stupid monster's fault. "You know that thing?"

Top priority. Great. Paling she felt light headed as she was pulled out of the way by Terry. Since when did parenthood count? She felt frozen. She couldn't run forever. She can plant travel, but Shade can shadow travel and make plants shot up in flames. And by the looks of his powers she didn't think he would rest very often.
But as soon as she was set down the ground burst with life again. Grabbing Terry and a flower at the sane time she made them sink into the ground. She would have went back to the camp but she started feeling sick and they popped up by some trees. Which were only 5 feet away from where they left. Feeling green she heard a whisper in the back of her mind find a lake, and go into a hole. You will be safe after that, I'll help as much as I can... but Kat started ignoring the voice. The plants scared as they tried to create a barrier to protect her and Terry.
"Terry...just go with Matt, finish the quest..this doesn't pertain to you, it's just Hades sending his son to do the dirty work..." she told him not looking at Terry but awaiting the barrier to be burnt down. A plan quickly forming in her head.

"I don't believe I know any of you. And yeah, he's my lieutenant." Shade pointed at the shade known as Dark. He blinked as the daughter of Persephone (Terry didn't know yet) grabbed him and disappeared.
"Dark." Shade's voice was a command. His short left sword appeared in his left.
"Yes, sir." The monster grinned, figure as black as night. His flashing red eyes searched. "Five feet at three o clock, sir."
"Let's go." Shade slipped into a shadow along with the creature of the night following behind. They appeared to the side of Terry and Kat. With a wave of his hand, the flames engulfed the plant barrier. It disappeared, leaving the two in plain view. "Dark, who is the boy then?"
"A son of Hermes." The shade sounded suddenly nervous. "Sir, I think we should retreat back to your father's. Your powers are not at full capacity. You can't fight for long-"
"And why is that?"
The shade stumbled on his words. "Well, you have a scar, and it will pain you if you fight for too long. You had memory loss for a while, and-"
"I had amnesia? For how long was this?"
"Your father. He did it three years ago-"
"What? It's been three years? So these people-"
"Were your friends. But they are deceivers. Because you were a burden. Because your inability to fight. And that boy was the kid that gave you that scar. They never really cared." The shade had found his words now. He was back to his manipulating. His words made Shade's head spin.
The vision of his hand reaching out, and disappearing in front of him... Who was he for the past three years? He wasn't even himself. So, who had he been? What had he been doing? These people. All of a sudden, they were really familiar. Even the name Kat spoke. Matt. He remembered him...almost. For a second, he couldn't believe he was shooting his powers so freely. He had control over them. He couldn't believe he was talkg so confidently and ordering Dark around. He was too shy to do that. Shade blinked. He was thinking like someone else. He wasn't thinking like himself. He loathed that shy feeling. He wasn't! He was...who was he?
No! If what Dark said was true, these people never cared anyway. That wasn't him! Shade was who he was now. He didn't even remember these people. That meant he really never cared too much for them...right?
"Get out of the way, Terry. Or I'll kill you first." Shade almost talked like he knew the kid.

Terry blinked at Kat's words. His pale eyes burned for just a moment. "No! No way! I'm not leaving you! What makes you think I'll leave you?" He looked up just in time to see Shade appear. The monster was a problem. His lieutenant, right? He was more like a manipulator. It seemed more like he was controlling Shade. Not the other way around. It made Terry mad.
"That's not true! We care! Shade..." Terry wasn't sure how to continue because what the shade said was true. He had given Shade his scar. He was always afraid he would blame him for it. And now, his fear had come true. Shade's words mad him grit his teeth. He stood up in front of Kathrine. His golden staff shimmered to life in his hands. "I'm not moving. You're going to have to kill me first!"

Kat glared at Terry "Just go. I'll find a way out." she told him. Looking at Shade she smiled. The barrier being burnt down.
"Dear boy, ever heard of Biology?" and at the same time branches from trees swang down full of leaves. And strangely in the same moment they dumped water over Shades head. The cold liquid coming out of the leaves. This she learned in Biology, which is pretty interesting since she didn't know trees evaporated water through their leaves and that's how they survive.
Not looking at Terry she started her sprint. She might as well listen to her mother now. And to keep Terry from tagging along she made the tree's roots pop out of the ground tying him down. And sub conciously she ran into a tree. Which at first was very painful. Sitting on the ground momentary, but then she decided, her best bet was to get Shade to shadow travel while she moves through plants so that she can just get Terry out of this mess.
Getting up quickly she continued running. She needed Shade to see her, but not Terry. "Which way?" she asked a flower pausing to take a deep breathe. Kneeling by a small bush she was actually feeling tired. Which could be due to the whole, 'run but be seen by Shade' idea. "Maybe I should start thinking these things through..." she thought.
Looking back she wondered if Shade actually decided to fight Terry or to go for the possible death of Kat. Of which needer sounded great.
