(Well, better start the relationship, somewhere, so why not after a big explosion? Y'know, like they do in the overly-cliched movies! ) After he had warned her and escaped the explosion, himself, Carter ran over to Jackie with his sword sheathed, temporarily, to find she wasn't harmed. Leave it to Jackie to abandon a vehicle traveling down the road at high speeds without time to wait for a soft patch of grass and come out without breaking a sweat. "Watch your back," he told her, worriedly. He figured this was probably her first time participating in a large battle like this one. After a moment's hesitation, unsure of his actions, he kissed her on the cheek. He didn't want to come off too sudden but he still wanted to make his feelings known to her. Fifty years ago, he would sooner have eaten this girl than kissed her, but times were changing and so was his personality. He was more like a mortal, now, than ever before. Drawing his sword, once more, he made his way back into battle, choosing not to linger by her side with a battle going on around them. He had to stay focused. And, more importantly, he had to keep an eye on his brother. However, he knew his limits. He couldn't go up against his elder sibling, alone, and hope to come out the victor. Pheo had always been the stronger of the two. Instead, he'd avoid him as much as possible. Using the mist to his advantage, however, he did manage to sneak up on a giant son of Anax, slicing at its Achilles tendon, the monster collapsing, though far from defeated.

"Arcane?" Her words confused him, and before he could demand what she meant, she charged. And then again, when he reacted, a monster tackled her to the ground. What in the? He watched, a humorous smile, lighting his lips as he watched his sibling battle it out with her own subordinate. Quickly, before much else could be said, he stabbed the monster through as Kim untangled herself. He was waiting for her to get up before he fought her, being ever the gentleman. (Notice the use of sarcasm.)
Leon turned to Kim with a snarl. "Trying to copy me with that armor of yours?" He was desperately hoping that Tori did not come running across in the middle of the battlefield. That would seriously suck, and there was nothing he could do about it. He hoped she was going to stay put. He located her by Irissia and a ring of guards. Good, they would hold out. He feinted a stab at Kim's shoulder, bu then slashed out at her side with a quick flick of his wrist.

"Why thank you for saving me, my prince." Kim rolled her eyes. "That ball of fat was crushing the air out of me." She got up and dusted herself off, her eyes still fixated on her brother with a menacing glare.
"Oh, you know I have some of the Nemean Lion's blood in my own mix, older brother." Kim saw out of her peripheral vision that the demigod was escaping. Of course her subordinates would fail her. They were so pitifully weak, after all. It didn't matter, because she had just wanted to toy with her brother. Killing the demigod was a bonus. Nonetheless, she waved her hand to signal a few monsters after the archer and the demigod. In the corner of her eye, she saw his hand flicker, and not paying attention to the feint by pure luck, having being distracted by her foolish companions, she swung her arm down on the blade with her dagger, blocking the attack. Her sleeve was cut, and the dagger was also cut halfway through. She mentally scolded and calmed herself. Kim had to focus. Who knew what kind of tricks Leon'd pull on her? Her slow reaction time and oblivious self had hindered her speed in escape, and now she'd ruined a perfectly good dagger. Cross, Kim focused on her target, which had changed over to Leon from the demigod. If she could glare any harder at him, she would have, but she was already maxed out on the glaring. So she smiled. "If only you could cut me like this ever again, Leon." She pulled out a new dagger and swung it downward, and if going as planned, it'd hit the sword away from her. Of course, Kim knew that with the demigod's life on his shoulders, Leon would be more focused, but she knew she wasn't aiming to knock the sword out of his hands. She merely wanted the sharp object away from her hip.

Irissia suddenly noticed a group of monsters rushing over. Grabbing Tori she pulled her close. "Stick by," she told the girl turning into a large husky. The husky was slightly larger than Tori's waist making the daughter of Aphrodite's hazel eyes widen.
Irissia was not about to waste arrows on creatures she could tear apart. Her hunt in mind. Kill them all before they kill Tori. The objective clear she suddenly lurched forward in impossible speed. Like a blur. There was no way she would miss her aim, the nearest throat. Her mouth clasping it and dragging it to the ground to tear at it. The monster bursting into dust just as one decided to make a swing at the unarmed daughter of Aphrodite.
Tori instinctively ducking as Irissia pounced on it's back. Ripping it into gold dust. Her light blue eyes seemed to be carried away with the hunt of the shrinking group of monsters. The more she tore down the more they hesitated. The daughter of Laelaps never missed. She was like her father, she always caught her prey.

Pheo held back a laugh at Arcane's small show of affection. Well why not show her his own affection as well? Sure it may involve killing her, but it will show his feelings for Arcane, and his lack of feelings towards the girl. His partner mumbling something as she looked down at Arcane with disdain.
Mist thickening she began his decend downwards towards the girl. If Arcane was smart he would notice this as a clear attack on the girl, one she wouldn't be able to see through much due to the dark mist. Since she obviously could see through the other Mist.

Arcane caught sight of Pheo in the corner of his eye - the only give away to his untrained, mortal eyes being the gathering of mist. He was heading for Jackie. Mist began to cloud around him and, without hesitation, he transformed into his dragon form, whipping away three smaller monsters with his tail before leaping into the air above the mortal assassin to intercept his brother. He knew he didn't stand much of a chance against the stronger opponent, but it was either attack, now, or Jackie would die. So he attacked and hoped for the best.

Jackie felt her face blush. Like a switch she blinked with bright blue eyes and flashed him a smile. "You should do the same," she told him heat rushing to her face. She wasn't sure how to react. Jackie had always been...too troubled to actually have feelings for anybody before. Yet she felt flustered and embarrassed by Carter, the boy she believed to be son of Nyx.
Jackie pulled out both handguns taking down monsters with ease with them. But her eyes constantly going back to Carter. Now she couldn't focus. When he attacked the son of Ajax though she became worried. What if he died? He couldn't die on her? Aiming for the monster's forehead she shot at it. In the same instant a mist became darker above her. And Carter. Her trusted friend and possible infatuation had transformed...into the beast of her nightmares.
Jackie blinked stumbling backwards away from Carter, putting one gun in her belt as she started trembling. He wasn't son of Nyx... All she could see was him fly upwards into the mist he surely created, having created more mist before transforming. Was this some sort of joke to him? Help her hunt him down for the amusement of seeing her unstable?
She felt hurt. Like someone took her own gun and shot her. Holding one gun tight she aimed straight up at the dark mist. Her hands shaking. Shot him. He could die. This was everything she wanted. Just shot. One bullet would bring him down. One bullet would be the revenge she thirsted. "IT WAS YOU?!?" she yelled at Carter both hurt and angry.
But her mind was spinning. Carter. How could he? How dare he betray her like that? She had trusted him! The first person she had trusted since Isaac and he betrayed her! She wanted to shot, her anger making her eyes dark. But at the same time she couldn't bring herself to pull the trigger. How could she shoot and know she would never be able to talk to someone who knew the true Jackie Robbin? How could she shoot and know that those gray eyes would never show up around her place to go hunting for...for him. She had been hunting him since she started fighting...and now...she couldn't bring herself to shoot. I can't do it...ftw... she thought bitterly feeling her eyes start watering as she turned around and ran away.
The one person she trusted...that was what hurt the most. She finally trusted someone enough with the truth, and what did they do? Go make false identities and trick her? Play games with her head. No. Running into the forest she headed over to New York. To the place she called home and though it tormented her life, it never lied to her...The one place she could clear her head.

Pheo heard her words and saw the handguns. Then an idea struck him. So she didn't know Arcane was a monster... A smile forming on his dragon lips as he pulled upwards away from Arcane and keeping out of sight of Jackie. He would let her believe it is only Arcane.
Then he noticed her bright blue eyes flashing as tears threatened to escape. He recognized her. She was the small girl he had failed to kill when she was younger because a demigod had distracted him. Well he got revenge on the son of Helios eventually. Helping cause this 'heart failure' that killed him. And well, he hadn't ran into the girl since. He figured she died on the streets at the hands of another monster. but obviously she hadn't, she has been infact training judging by her skills with her handguns, and she has been meeting his ever so loved (sarcasm being used) brother Arcane.
Oh if she thought Arcane was betraying her...it would ruin their relationship and that would also hurt Arcane mentally. So Pheo could do both. Rip his little brother to shreds and watch the pain physically, but before watch the pain as Robbin the assasin pushed him away and hopefully out of revenge she wanted towards Pheo, attempt to kill Arcane who she thinks is him (Pheo). How brilliant this plan was! Beckoning Palmaria to leave he told her to find out where Jackie was going, but not to attack. Just follow her around and report back.
(So now do Pheo and Arcane fight a bit or does Pheo go attack Jackie in NY?)

He glanced around frantically, seeing that Tori's truck had exploded. He blinked as he caught sight of Irissia protecting her. A huge weight lifted off his shoulder in relief. He trusted the daughter of Laelaps to be able to protect her. She should be in safe hands. Taking his eyes off of the daughter of Aphrodite, he stepped back from Kim, taking the time of her occupation with monster dust to look for his friends. He caught sight of Arcane in his monster form and then Jackie racing away from the scene. What was going on? He couldn't imagine what would scare her away. She was a well trained assassin. But then a slight tweak of memory reminded him that her parents had been slated by a monster. He caught the words in her scream barely. Oh, that's what happened.
He had no time to worry about them, though, because Kim was back on her feet. He pulled his sword from the swing, making her slice at empty air with her dagger. He countered, stepping to the side and stabbing the shimmering golden blade at the side of her shoulder. "You have no idea."

(Pheo goes back so that when he does attack Jackie, Arcane is still on the journey)
Arcane realized he'd been seen but he couldn't let that distract him. Not now. As much as he wanted to stop everything and explain the situation, he had to be sure Jackie was out of danger. Thankfully, she'd fled, probably back to the city, but her words echoed in his mind and he immediately regretted agreeing to come, at all. Pheo was after him, not Jackie. She was just a bonus and he knew that. As much as he knew Pheo hated mortals, Arcane also knew he wouldn't come all this way just for one assassin. Arcane was his target as always.
Landing, seeing the problem as passed with Jackie safe, away from the battle, he transformed back into his mortal form, the black mist still swirling around him. Drawing his sword, he lashed out at a harpy foolish enough to swoop down and attempt an attack at the distraught Arcane. In a shower of golden dust, the monster disappeared as the sword passed through at the stomach. His head whipping upwards, he caught sight of Pheo still flying above, though Palmaria seemed to be missing. The mist was probably concealing her, though, or so Arcane convinced himself, wanting to give Jackie a while to cool off and gather her thoughts. He didn't want to push her. She was already bordering on the insane. She would need her space for a while, and that was what he would give her. He'd finish the journey and speak to her once he returned. Hopefully, she'd come to understand.

Pheo watched Arcane for a moment. Sure he was distracted with the fight below he flew upwards and away from Arcane and the battle, hidden by the mist that would have looked like thunder clouds to those who couldn't see through the Mist.
Pheo had headed towards New York. Leaving the fight to pay the young girl a...visit.
(Sorry it's short _._ my muse feels killed. Like Jackie shot it with a imperial gold bullet then stabbed it repetitively with one of those daggers -_-)

Arcane continued the fight from the ground, utilizing the mist. It swirled around him, intimidatingly. For the monsters who approached, the mist immediately surrounded them, blinding them as he came in for the kill, slowly making his way toward Tori, hoping to better protect her. He trusted Irissia to do her job to the best of her ability, however the sons of Ares weren't exactly the greatest fighters he'd seen, lately. Looking around the battlefield, he saw Leon in battle with another monster - Kim, he presumed. He'd keep an eye on them, both, ready to spring into action if his friend needed help. For now, however, he was doing his job and defending the demigod, turning to dust any monster which got too close, taking some pressure off Irissia.

Her arm was a blur with its intense speed to catch up with his sword. Silence was about them, for both fighters were intent on winning. Kim knew that neither one of them were very big on losing. She parried his blade with one of her own and used the momentum to flip over the sword's tip and end up on the other side. More monsters flooded in, and she was surprised to see ones she didn't invite barge in uninvited. A Sphinx child grinned at her. "We brought friends!" Kim sighed and rolled her eyes, once again refocusing her attention on her opponent. This battle was such a drag, but there was nothing to do when her brother seemed so tense about his precious demigod. "Looks like we have uninvited visitors besides myself, my brother." The other monsters would perchance be more powerful, but would still stand no chance against Irissia. However, Kim did see a handful of monsters catch her eye. Sons and daughters of the Nemean Lion. More half-siblings. Leon's siblings. Hopefully they could withstand Irissia's arrows. One passed by and hissed at Leon. "A brother of mine, weakened by his love for a demigod? You are dead to me." Kim was secretly glad they were oblivious of the fact that she was their half-sibling. They seemed to be treating their sibling terribly. Nonetheless, Kim flung two spinning daggers straight at Leon's neck.

Narrowing his gray eyes, Leon withdrew his blade upon contact with her dagger, moving aside. He knew that he could stay out of the range of her dagger by keeping her at sword length. If he occupied her well enough and kept her on the defensive, then she wouldn't be able to throw one of those things at him. If she did from this range, it would be difficult to react.
For a moment, he was distracted by new arrivals added to the battle. More monsters? Some of them were his own half siblings. He was considered the strongest of them all. They just had patches of invulnerability like him. He had more, particularly his arms. The moment he had hissed back at his younger brother, Kim threw her daggers. He knocked one away with his arm, the other glancing off the hard skin on his neck. He had steel skin there. Kim would have to figure out just where all the spots of armor were. He stepped forward, aiming multiple slashes at her, particularly going for her legs. He spun, adding kicks along with his whirling blade. He wanted her disabled, not killed, though he couldn't be choosy at this time. He had to go help Arcane and Irissia.

The large husky of Irissia turned to Tori having scented the half siblings of the demigod's boyfriend. Tori looked around searching for Leon but ducking away from attacks. That was one thing she was good at, avoiding. Then suddenly she felt Irissia, now human form pulling her away in a run. Tori running to keep up, luckily the daughter of Aphrodite did workout enough so she did keep up...for now.
Irissia hissing about something until someone grabbed a hold of her Irissia spinning and shooting the son of the Nemean Lion in the eye, knowing perfectly well he would have iron skin and unsure of where his weak points were. But like dragons, the eyes were automatic weak points. The dark haired sibling of Leon cursed at her as she pulled her arrow back out shaking some blood from it as Tori cringed at the sight. Irissia kicking the boy in the head and sending him to the ground before pushing Tori forward to run again. Some of Leon's siblings hesitating after seeing the gorey sight of their brother on the ground, he wasn't fatally wounded. But it was painful and he would be permanently blind until he was reborn.
