(Just as a heads up, you don't have to reply with anything as long as this. It's going to probably end up being extremely long! I apologize ahead of time for making you read it all! I just figured I need to do something to make up for all the horrible posts I've had, lately! )
One hundred and twenty-five. That would be the number of dummies were set up, imitating opponents. Some were simply straw-in-body-shaped-sack figures. Others had full body armor and basic features drawn onto them with a Sharpie. All of them, however, were doomed.
Standing in the middle of the arena was Zeke Winters, platinum hair blowing in the oddly cold breeze. This was his way of letting off steam and calming down. If he didn't do this, every so often, he would most likely end up getting himself kicked out of camp. Instead, he butchered a few straw sacks and, as a gift to the camp, no young demigod would mysteriously go missing.
Ice materialized around Zeke, beginning with small snowflakes and enlarging into a snow-boulder. Zeke willed the snow together, compacting it into a dense sphere of ice with a Mohs scale ranking of about 13 - harder than diamond and just as lustrous. Suddenly, the ice-ball flattened into a razor-sharp circular blade.
This blade uncurled itself as if it were a snake, whipping outward and around, in a circular motion, beheading a large portion of the dummies. 100.
Zeke stepped forward, grasping the edge of the ice-blade, it morphing into two swords. Nick. He'd tormented him and Zeke was powerless to stop him. He'd nearly killed Renate, yet Zeke could only stand by, idly, unable to do anything. It had all escalated too quickly. Was he weak? Had he made himself vulnerable with his affection toward this daughter of Ares?
In a series of lightning fast swings, which very much resembled a whirlwind, several more dummies fell to the ground, diced into near-perfect cubes. 86.
A few others burst without any obvious reason, tiny ice crystals mixed in with the straw, slowly melting. 80.
One of Zeke's signature ice-katana began to morph, slowly, until it took the shape of a shield, which he used to whack a dummy aside, as he amputated the arms of a couple others. 77.
He had been so careless. He'd obtained a weakness. If anyone ever got to Renate, he would simply crumple. Why? Was it truly love? No, it couldn't be. He'd only known her a few short months. No, it had to be something else... didn't it?
His sword and shield floated in front of him, combining into a discus-like object, which was sent flying forward, spinning. 62.
The wind began to pick up, now, bone-chillingly cold in the otherwise blazing heat of the midday summer sun. Zeke had to resolve this. He couldn't just throw his hands up in defeat every time Renate was faced with danger. True, Nick had nearly killed her, but had he been more assertive, surely he would have given in and restored Renate to her body, sooner.
The straw dummies began to shake, slightly, before Zeke walked almost leisurely back to the center of the arena. Around him, the wind swirled, violently, until a cyclone had formed, the son of Boreas at the eye of the storm. Snow began to fall, gently at first, before it quickly became a blizzard. The straw dummies were thrown into the whirlwind before Zeke sent it around the fringes of the arena, collecting any remnants of other dummies.
He had to be decisive. He could no longer leave himself open. He cared about Renate but he could let her be his weakness. He had to come to terms with the fact she was a demigod, as well, and there would be danger for her, as well. When something happened to her, he had to think rationally, not collapse onto the ground, begging for her to be spared.
The tornado had by now returned to the center, where it dissipated, leaving the dummies in a large pile, fifteen odd feet in height. Zeke tapped into his reserve power, his eyes icing over. The pile of dummies iced over, as well, first with a simple tendril of ice snaking itself up the side, only for other veins of ice to follow, covering the sides in almost a dome-shaped cage. They then grew outward, connecting, before moving inward toward the center. Soon, every last molecule of water within the dome was frozen, hard.
That's when Zeke let loose his true potential. The dome of ice shattered, every fiber of straw and particle of cloth ripped apart and strewn across the arena floor, each the size of a speck of dust.
From there, spikes of ice shot from the ground in random locations and directions, slicing them even more. The wind picked up, once more, but this time it blew upward. Every last remnant of the dummies were flown upward with the gust of wind, sending it skyward far enough that, when they fell earthward, they would simply burn up in the atmosphere in a fraction of a second.
Zero.
Every last dummy was decimated, the arena spotless with the ice simply evaporating into a vapor before being blown away by a warmer breeze.
That's when Zeke noticed the figure standing at the entrance. The young demigod turned, the air shimmering around him as ice began to form into swords once more.
"Did you enjoy the performance?" he snarled, eyes glowing with hostility.
(868 words and probably the longest post I'll ever make on here! Lmao)
