Irissia suddenly felt her anger rise. "You can't hate the gods if you don't know them," she snapped defending the only creatures she would give everything for, Artemis and her Apollo. The sun god for personal reasons the goddess because Irissia was still interested in the position she was offered. "And if you take out the anger you feel towards a god at its offspring. I swear my next shot will be through your head," she hissed. Still feeling protective of demigods, more specifically the weak orphan ones who believed themselves to be normal mortals.
Irissia shook her head "Oh yeah cause a sane clear minded mortal assassin is definitely less dangerous than a reckless unstable one," she mutter sarcastically.

"Uhm," Leon almost flinched at his friend's scolding tone. He raised a brow, trying to laugh it off. "Yeah, about the whole hating them thing...I kind of got...over that? Some of them can be different. She's like a mortal since she doesn't know how to fight." He knew that Arcane wasn't going to be easily convinced, so he was going to let him think what he wanted.
What Irissia was pointing out was true, but he really had no replies for them. "I know it's stupid. We've been over this. I don't...really care if it's fine with you both." He laughed nervously and rubbed the back of his neck, knowing that it wasn't going to be okay with either of them.

Irissia's eyes narrowed at Leon "I have no say in it. Like you said a patron goddess of mine is pulling strings. Because she also like excitement," she said shoting the last part at Arcane. Her mood having taken a dark turn due to his previous comment. She was fiercely loyal, like any dog. But unlike dogs it was to the gods. And it had been that way sincevsgecreceived her mortal form and walked into the dining hall of King Priam's palace in Troy. Apollo greeting her with a beautiful poem and a bright sunny smile. She had been loyal ever since, and even more protective of Apollo and his children.

Arcane glanced at Irissia, wanting to shrink away, in all honesty, though forcing himself to play it cool. "The gods are fond of you because your father was allied with them. What of us? I may never have met them, but what they do has repercussions throughout the world - very few of which have benefited me or most other monsters. We were cast aside because of our ancestry. In fact, my father was even allied with them - still is, for the most part. Me? I was cast aside for giving in to my monstrous instincts when I was born." Deciding to explain for the first time in his life to another what had happened at his birth, he continued.
"I ate my mother, you know. She was expecting a mortal baby. However, when I was born, she freaked out. I was a scared monster child so I lashed out and ate her. She never even gave me a name - that's why I don't have a last name like the two of you. I adopted the word Arcanus, shortening it to Arcane, and it became my identity. Centuries later, I began masquerading as Carter Velius." Sighing, he added, "That's another reason I am fond of mortals, I suppose. I learned to use my mortal form at an early age - 24, if I remember, correctly - but I appeared as a baby. They raised me." Even though I ate most of my adoptive parents, he added, mentally.
"If she became sane, she would be able to see not all monsters are evil. She'd be a bit more wary of killing them unless they attacked her, first. And I can't do anything about that.

Leon glanced at the two, kind of just shrinking out of their fight. He didn't like the gods either, though he was less spontaneous about discussing them. They were probably watching and growling at Arcane right this moment. He had gone over this already with Irissia anyway.
He made a face at Arcane's story. To be truthful, he wanted to tell "Dang, that's sick, dude!" But of course he didn't. He didn't remember ever seeing his mother. He had come out in mortal form, or so he had remembered. His father could mortal form himself too, so it wasn't really a surprise. "You went along eating your foster parents?" So much for gratitude. But Arcane was still his friend, of course. In fact, he was as fascinated as disgusted.

Irissia glared at him "I was born a puppy no god or goddess looked at me twice. But because I choose to save Aphrodite from thugs on her search for Paris I was given a mortal form. Because my actions gave me my own identity as princess of Troy servant to Aphrodite. So don't come to me with your whole monsters are cast aside thing because I was a dog that gained favor and received a mortal form,"
Irissia sighed "But you never tried to fix that. Even after given a mortal form I tried to help others. And because I tried I meet other gods except for Apollo and Aphrodite. I meet Artemis during a hunt while I was trying to collect food for the founders of Rome." she said "Because of my actions I've won their favor, you haven't done anything have you?"
"She's had her family ripped from her. Do you think she will stop once she becomes stable? No she will beable to make better more thoughtful plans then. She will relies there are many other children who have lost their families as well. Its a non stop cycle, it's part of her being now to kill monsters..."

(Sorry for all my late replies, I'm busy at the moment multitasking)
"I was born without any knowledge of the gods. That's how I lived my life. I taught myself everything - relied on myself. Life was a struggle for decades until I got the hang of the whole deceit thing. I never met my father until I was 3 centuries old! I had to decode the Latin language, myself, to learn to talk and, again, with the English, Italian, and Greek languages once I encountered them. By the time I learned of the gods, I'd strayed too far from their favor for them to bother. Did they ever try to teach me and help me - a poor, lonely child wandering the streets of Venice alone? Nope, never heard from 'em," he said, unintentionally sounding slightly whiny. "For them to gain my respect, they need to earn it just like everyone else. They were never kind to me so why should I be kind to them?"
"And, just as an F.Y.I., I have done some good deeds over the years. But they never rewarded me. No, instead, it seemed like every time I did something good, something bad would happen to me. So, I've resorted to being the stereotypical monster for the past few centuries." Glancing at Leon, he stated, simply, "A monster's gotta eat." Then, Irissia's comment struck him. Maybe she would become more aware of others' stories and begin more complex and devastating plans. Perhaps she wouldn't. "Kill her, then," he said, glaring at Irissia, his anger rising. "Be a hero and send an arrow her way. From what I understand, it wouldn't be much trouble for you."

Oh, boy. Yup, this was something to back out of. Maybe the two would start fighting or something. He didn't want this to end like Tori and Arcane's first encounter. He scooted back just a little, deciding silently- silently- that he agreed with Arcane on this one. The gods had never been kind, though they didn't have time to go favor a monster out of their way. They had killed of Leon's father because he posed as an inconvenience. And he had had to try surviving on his own. They were eating mortals that wandered in because th species had chased every other kind of prey away.
The son of the Nemean Lion nodded with a half smile at Arcane's comment. He couldn't have chosen something more ethical to chow on, like his neighbors or something...He didn't complain, though. He raised a brow as the conversation took a dip and became more of an argument. He sighed to himself.

Irissia voice raised "Not kind to you? At least they didn't send their children to go kill you while you were that poor little lost boy. What should I feel pity for you?" her voice a hiss "I was raised by Roman wolves my father casted into the sky, I don't feel pity for anyone except the deserving," she snapped. Her light blue eyes blazing.
"And you know sometimes it's hard for the gods to even help out their own children. So how in the world were they supposed to know that poor lost boy in Venice needed help Wgen they were too busy running the sky across the sky to even stop by for a day," she snarled feeling frustration at Arcane for not being understanding as she had been with Apollo as he had explained her everything centuries ago.
"Kind to you." she laughed a bitter laugh "Have you tried earning anybody's respect outside the Subways? You've been eating our own parents, the people you were born suppose to respect!" she snapped. Ignoring the shrinking Leon as he slowly backed away.
His last comment on Jackie made her bristle in anger. Irissia flashing between a threateningly large husky baring it's sharp teeth to a lethal girl her fists clenched "Shot her? Do you really want me to shot a defenseless mortal your soo keen on protecting? It's like Leon telling me to shot Tori. He's already decided to give everything up for her, I'm not going to go shot her when you guys know no matter what I won't miss. And no matter what you won't beable to kill me cause I always catch my prey." she told them angrily.

"Who said you should pity me!?" Arcane shouted, no doubt gaining the attention of monsters in nearby corridors. "I don't want pity, I want recognition. I've gone through far worse than most any other monster in this place, I'm one of the most powerful, and still I'm cast out," he said, though it wasn't completely true. Sure, he did want recognition, but it wasn't the reason for the argument.
"Do you have any idea how many gods there are? Hundreds - probably thousands. Not to mention the nymphs and everything that help out on Olympus, too! I'm sure one of the minor gods could have come down and helped me. I'm not saying they should treat me with special care, but I was left along for centuries. I had to raise and teach myself and find my own source of food." Arcane was angry, now, and the only thing holding him back from attacking Irissia was the knowledge that she could kill him without effort. "All they had to do was just inform me that there were others out there - to inform me I wasn't a freak. I grew up around mortals - Venice was a quiet place. There were no other monsters to take after. The ones that were there were vicious and lived in the canals. They ate humans, too, or anything else that came their way, for that matter - sometimes each other, I've been told. No one told me eating people was wrong. It was my instincts so I went with them - you would have done the same in my situation."
Then, Irissia began to question why Arcane would suggest shooting Jackie. "It was sarcasm, okay? You shoot her and, while you may end up killing me, my sword will be laying by your head - only your head - by the time you do." Maybe he was a bit protective of Jackie, though only because she was his only way to live the mortal life he's wanted for so long.

Leon tried his best not to roll his eyes and growl at the two, but his voice did come across as stern as he spoke, "Hey, come on, you two. You're attracting attention- the last thing I want right now." He slide his glaring gray gaze at some of the eavesdroppers, picking them out by scent. They knew he was watching, and he saw some of them flinch away the moment he looked at them, watching their shadows disappear.
"Okay, the gods are selfish. They usually wouldn't mind removing a life from existence if it simply conveniences them. That's the way they are. That's the way they've always been, Irissia. They pick someone random to boost up in ranks because they want to look good like they're doing something nice, in the end, you become someone that will follow their orders. We were never favored in any way no matter what. Even the gods make their mistakes." He sat back, watching the two like they were some kind of drama. Though both sides were true because they had a story behind them, he still felt more agreeable with Arcane.

Irissia laughed angrily "Recognition? For what eating the mortals and the help you received? Oh let me go tell Hepheastus to make you a medal," she clapped announcing in a voice that dropped with venomous sarcasm "Arcane, he's obviously the worse off of everybody down here come one guys give him the recognition he sooo badly deserves," she stopped clapping her light blue eyes icy and cold.
Irissia snorted "Oh yeah cause sending a nymph your way would've helped you. You would've just eaten her like you did to all the mortals! The gods are busy they actually have jobs to do, if they can't even visit their own children why do you think they'll visit a strong little boy eating people in the streets of Venice?!" she shouted her eyes blazing.
"And you know what? I wouldn't have done the same if I were you. Why? Because I have some decency to not eat the innocent! You know Jackie isn't the only person like that, she isn't the only person unstable! Ok you have her, who was born lucky enough to see through the Mist, and brave enough to actually train to go hung down what the rest of her world calls a fantasy! You think your life is screwed up well at least you have time to fix it and make it better, what can you say about the mortals who have to live without their family because of people like you following your 'instinct' doing what seems easier because you don't think of the consequences!" she yelled at him. The daughter of Laelaps obviously loyal to the gods and mortals. She was a dog after all, best friend to mankind...
Irissia rolled her eyes "Ha! I'd like to see you try to even raise your sword the second I let go of the string!" she told him bitterly. Her hand clenched on an arrow, her muscles tensing as she fought back the urge to morph into a large oversized husky and rip out his throat.
Her blazing eyes snapping on Leon her voice below freezing cold "Let them watch, if they have something to say they can step forward and have their throats ripped out," her voice a snarl as her eyes flashed to the fading shadows. But the fact Leon also agreed with Arcane made her bristle with even more fury "Selfish?! Really do you think they have enough time to go to every ungrateful being on this planet and make them happy? Sure they can make mistakes but at least they don't expect every one of you to bow down in prayer, at least they don't pity themselves and convince themselves they have it the worse when in an hour you will go eat a unsuspecting human because it's easy. In an hour your make another mortal unstable because they will have witnessed you murder and they won't know what to do!" her voice a hiss as she bristled with fury trying not to turn into the large husky she was close to becoming.

Arcane rolled his eyes, sighing in frustration. "You would if you weren't a dog. Dogs are born loyal to mortals; dragons aren't. If you didn't feel natural loyalty to them, and your species enjoyed the taste of raw human meat, you would have. Everyone would. Maybe I don't have it the worst, maybe I do, but either way I can't change what I am and what I am is a killer - it's in my genes," he said, ignoring Leon's wishes to end the argument. The monsters knew not to approach an angry Arcane, some from experience.
"I do what I do because of instincts, yes, but you can't ignore them. Your instincts are that of a dog - protect the weak from the strong. You're protecting the mortals from the monsters. It's what you were born to do. Me? I was born a monster and I am destined to be one. I can't change that - believe me, I've tried."
Irissia's next statement made Arcane even angrier. "I can't live off of mortal food. I've been slowly adding more of it to my diet for about fifty years, now, but I can't live on it. It doesn't agree with my monster metabolism or whatever. I don't have a choice! It's either I eat a mortal or demigod here and there or I starve to death. At least I have the decency, though, to make the kill somewhere out of the way - it's how I've always done it. I've driven one person insane in my life and that was because they were already going through a lot of other deaths. When he learned his fiance went missing, he broke - not exactly my fault."

(Mine are so short...)
"Hey, come on, you two!" His voice was mainly a whine right now instead of a protest. He didn't want them arguing anymore. Not only was it attracting attention, but he thought that they would have become good friend's of his together. Obviously not now that they seemed to harbor so much hatred for each other. He held up his hands in a kind of surrendering motion when Irissia turned on him. He sighed, allowing her to blow off whatever steam she wanted before returning to Arcane. It was the way most girls worked, he had learned. You let them yell.
"Truthfully, whenever the gods go out of their way to help someone, it is never a monster. I would like to see you name one example, Irissia. The gods have a bias to our species, you know." His voice was earnest, but nowhere near argumental. He didn't want to add oil to the fire as it was already a roaring inferno ready to erupt into an exchange of blows. "And it's kind of true, mortal food does kind of give us indigestion. So I've been going around looking for some rabbits and squirrels..." He wasn't a dragon, he was a lion. Dragons had their own menus that were necessary. He was sure humans were one of them. It was true that it would be hard for Jackie to accept him for needing to eat humans, though.

Irissia glared at him. Her voice a growl "Killing people isn't in anyone ones genes, it's a choice, your part mortal aren't you? At least you don't only have dragon instincts," so what she was 100% dog, she was being stubborn because defending mortals was her instinct and her blood. But she'd never admit that. She was raised by wolves so stubbornness and feistiness was part of her as well.
Irissia rolled her eyes "Your destiny to kill mortals, oh yeah sure because it's definitely your destiny to be like every other thoughtless fool in these tunnels," she said sarcastically. Her hatred clear once more.
Then Leon's comment made her turn on him in complete fury "I don't see why you are even bothering to talk. Male lions are known to be the laziest animals around. I'm not surprised you eat mortals, or used to," she snarled. Ignoring his feeble attempts to stop the argument
"And you know what? My father was that lucky monster cast into the sky because the gods didn't want to kill him and showed compassion towards him because him and that stupid fox wouldn't stop running around. And do you know why they went out of their way to stop that chase? Because my father deserved it, he served faithfully to them at King Minos, something monsters don't do," she growled her eyes flashing angrily. Her fist tight around her bow as her muscles tensed as she tried to keep from morphing or from shooting Arcane out of pure hatred towards him and all monsters.
(all chill mine is too this time xD)
