Kathrine Woods frowned slightly staring up at the night sky. Where was Max? Was she running late? The daughter of Persephone seemed impatient as she tapped her foot standing on one side of the creek. The side monsters could get to, not that she knew that.
(Garret and Pyre don't come in until after Max is dead)
The girl had asked a daughter of Chronos to reverse time for her. Go back to the day she had found out her mother was Persephone and keep herself from finding out. Her green eyes thoughtful as she crossed her arms over her unbuttoned plaid shirt, white tank top underneath. She wore faded light blue jeans and black boots, her blonde hair lose and swaying in the wind. The cloud dark from a gathering storm.
Max didn't keep Kathrine waiting for long though. The daughter of Chronos emerging from the bushes "Sorry I'm late," she told the girl. Max having been occupied trying to reassure Garret everything would be fine. Her boyfriend had told her he was having a bad feeling about this, but she told him to stop fretting. Ignoring the her own strange feeling. She liked helping people. So she would help Kathrine.
Kathrine turned to face the girl studying her quickly. She wore a innocent white shirt and dark grey skinny jeans, Max's ivy eyes staring back at her awaiting her words. "It's ok. So can we start now? I'm sorry to rush you..." she mumbled.
Max smiled at her shaking her head "No I get it. But yeah just grab onto my hand. It will take longer since I have to find an exact place, and I have to go far enough back into your life that alot of things will change," she told Kathrine, who obediently grabbed a hold of her hand. Max closing her ivy eyes as she concentrated on trying to collect enough energy for the journey there and back. The air around them getting slightly lighter. "Ready to go back and erase everything?" Max said with a smile, her eyes closed as she felt time slow down. Though the present day still advanced.
Kathrine was about to close her eyes when a small sound made her green eyes flicker towards where it came from.

He yawned, standing uo from the couch. He had on crisp black jeans and a plain black t-shirt in. But if you looked closely enough, you would find the fabric reflecting the image of your skeletal system once in a while. Shade pulled his open-fingered leather gloves on, and then turned to the entrance of his room as there was a knock. "Is that you, Dark?" He asked, already knowing the reply. The shade strode in, looking like he could have been the boy's brother. His otherwise red eyes stared down at his master. "Let's go, then." The son of Hades said with a cruel grin, and they melted into the shadows.
The air was warm and a little dry, perfect for his powers. The bright sun attacked his eyes, and he had to wait a moment to adjust. "You master, the targets have been located, what is your priority?" Dark's voice brought him fully out into the world, and the demigod peered through the trees. There. Max and Kat. How convenient.
"Zarate will have to go first. She's too dangerous. I'll take care of her. You keep Woods occupied, and then I will join you." He told his subordinate, ruling out the plan quickly. He raised a hand, a black flame lighting at his gloved palm. Slowly, the heat began to grow in strength. "Go, Dark. Get the daughter of Persephone." His voice was bitter, but smooth.
The creature reacted immediately to the order, and so rang out from hiding faster than a bullet. His sword was out, Stygian iron tinged with red. Shade had sent a week weaving the power around the sword. It would burn anyone upon contact. Dark swung the blade out at Kat, his left hand's fingers growing into long claws. He had completely reverted to his shade form, and looked like a nightmare, as if he were made from pulsing darkness. His aimed more slashes, his goal to force the girl away from the daughter of Chronos. The son of Hades stepped out from behind the tree, a small smile playing over his heavy expression, "Sorry, but orders..." He pointed a finger at Max, the small black flame wavered on his index finger, turning an angry red as it shrunk, "are orders." A black explosion of fire roared forth in a whirl of fury. It headed straight towards her. The fire was incredibly hot, and it cause the grass in it's path to catch on fire, red fire. It was similar to the one he had shot at Zeke back at the first attack on Camp, but this time, he had meant to release it. He summoned his sword, shadow traveling so that he was between Max and the daughter of Persephone to keep them from helping each other.

Kathrine had seen Dark appear, quicker than she could image. A large vine shooting up between her and the creature only to be sliced in half by Stygarian sword. "What are you doing here?" she said both shocked and angry. As she stepped back to avoid his slashes. Dark truly was frightening. But Kat wouldn't let it show. Vines shooting up to block things that got too close. They were ruining her plans. She turned to look at Max the daughter of Chronos had the world slowing down now, time was nearly at reverse.
"Max!" Kathrine screamed a vine shooting up and pulling Max out of the way. The daughter of Chronos' eyes bursting open as she hit the ground. The ivy orbs flashing as she jumped to her feet "Who are you?" she asked Shade staring at him with distrust, curiosity, and fear. A fire starting and possibly even going to catch the attention of some of her classmates. Max didn't understand what was happening. Was this a demigod helping Hades?
Kathrine grabbed a hold of her sword and spun to face Dark. She had to get back to Max so they could reverse time. She had to. It was her only hope. "Shade don't do this," Kat pleaded shooting a despret glance at the son of Hades.

He had missed. Shade let out a sigh of disappointment mockingly. "Sorry, Kat, I've gotten my orders." He shifted his longsword, Akhos in hand. He didn't need Ania just yet. That would come when he got serious. "Besides, she would have been an obstruction anyways without you around. What you are about to do isn't safe." Dark moved forward again with a cackle, slashing at her arm to sever their connection.
Shade smiled at Max bitterly. "I'm your little ticket to Hades." Without so much as a second thought, his Stygian iron blade burst into black flames, and he took a slash straight at her arm as well, to get them to let go of hands. Then he took another slash at her side.

Max was freaking out freezing time. Everything stood still. Her ivy eyes large, she should flee. She should run back to Garret and tell him he was right. That she should have never agreed to help Kathrine. This girl would get her killed. It was evident the two wouldn't last long if Hades sent them.
Looking at the frozen Kathrine though she knew she couldn't flee. The girl having dove to the side to avoid Dark and try to get closer to Max. A sword in her hand. If the two could get closer they could reverse time to the point none of this happened. But the problem was she needed more time... She couldn't do it quickly because Kathrine was asking her to reverse alot of key events. Things the Fates had planned.
Blinking Max stepped away from Shade. She should leave. Surely Kathrine Woods can take care of herself? No. She couldn't leave her. But she couldn't keep time frozen forever either... Avoiding Shade's attack she moved away from him as time continued. Dashing over to the daughter of Persephone who yelled at Shade "You don't understand! She will make everything better, we can go back to living our own lives!" she yelled at him.

An odd sensation rippled through him, and he knew already that she had messed with the time. Hades' little sixth sense installed in his brain. He was a little woozy, but that was how he knew. He turned to see that Max was still here. He had expected her to flee. It was her decision not to, and a foolish one. He already knew she was going to be a difficult opponent. "To control time isn't a gift. It is a curse. The Fates don't like being toyed with. This is not just my father's order." With a sneer, he stepped in front of the daughter of Chronos to block her path, prevent her from reaching Kat.
"Living your own lives?" Dark hissed humorously at Kat, stabbing out at her with his sword. "Do you really want that to happen? The Young Master lived in the Underworld. If you messed with the time, Lord Hades would withdraw him from the camp. Hes just been living at the camp as a spy, my dear. He was never a friend."

At those words Kat froze, Max biting her lip, the daughter of Chronos had also known this. But hadn't thought helping the daughter of Persephone would cause the Fates to be angered. "The Fates sent you?" Kat asked a bit worried now. That meant this will definitely end right.
Kat deflected Dark's sword with her own "Nobody would know who my mother is when I fix this," she told dark. Her green eyes flashing as she threw a glance at Max who was now stepping away from Kat.
The daughter of Chronos shook her head, she had promised Garret everything would be fine. But if this boy was here. Then she had to move quickly. She must get to Kathrine. Hesitant "I don't know who you are, but this won't cause too many problems. If the Fates really wanted Kathrine to find out they would still have her find out another way. This is just to try to at least fix some of the stuff she messed up in. I really don't want to be in your issues..." Max told Shade.

"You don't quite understand." Shade sighed, straightening himself and making his sword disappear into smoke. "This is a large thread of Fate you are toting with. You're reckless with helping others and changing time. You're dangerous. The Fates don't like mpbeing controlled, Paige Max Zarate. You are a threat to their will. Who says you aren't going to do something drastic in the future? Change something that was meant to be on your own, and causing destruction across your path. Do you realize how much you can do by tweaking a little strand of time? Someone might be wiped from existence. A cure that could save all of humanity could be lost forever. Whatever happens," The son of Hades smiled, approaching her as she moved away, still standing in her way from reaching Kat, "is meant to be. The Fates have established that. You are not to change it for anyone's selfish reasons. And just checking, they haven't changed my orders yet. Nor has my father's."
He turned with a glare at the daughter of Persephone. Quick as anything, he shadow-traveled, grabbing a hold of her shadow and creating a rock-hard obsidian. With one fluid motion, the stone had been molded into a dagger, and he pointed the blade at her neck. The other hand had latched an iron grip on her wrist. "Now then, will you continue running, and count on your father time?" But he knew very well that Max could move back in time without taking him with her now that he had molded into her shadow. He himself was hesitating, like he always did when it came to killing someone. But this order was different. It was from the Fates, not his father.
Dark just sneered, half-watching the show. Kat did not understand what she asked for. This was something to big to avoid. This one secret had opened up millions of possibilities for the Fates, and they did not enjoy it being taken away. Fate against time. The Fates would have Max killed.

Max stood frozen. Her muscles tense as he held the dagger. His words making her eyes eyes darken with fear and defeat. If the Fates truly wanted her dead...then she would die...here and now... Dear Gods...can you just help me now... she cried silently. Her throat closing. She was accepting defeat. The son of Hades had a grip on her so turning back time to before she meet Kathrine would be impossible right now, not only that but she felt something strange, it must be part of his powers that kept her anchored. Freezing time would be no use. She wouldn't be able to escape his grip. Max shot a glance at Kat her eyes pleading. She had promised Garret...and they had both felt bad about this...she should have listened to him...she should have turned Kathrine down...
The daughter of Persephone lunged forward towards Shade. No. If Max died it would be her fault. She wouldn't be able to live like that...Knowing she had another person killed... Their was no point in pleading with Shade, she had to attack him. She couldn't do much with her powers though, the fire limiting how strong the plants could be since stronger plants had bigger roots, and right now Shade's fire had completely destroyed some of the land here.

He could feel her sense of defeat. Shade began to shiver, some part of him unwilling to drag the blade across her delicate skin, and pierce her throat. His hand trembled slightly, and for some reason, he didn't want to see the lifeblood pour out of people anymore. It was a little bit like a side effect of becoming kind and caring for a while. In the back of his mind, he knew he had enjoyed friendship and his new personality, but right now, he knew that it wasn't him. This was him. He was someone who killed and didn't deserve to have friends. His thoughts wandered to Lauren. "I am no hero."
Dark intercepted Kat in her path, his blade glinting sharply. Stay out of this, honey. We haven't gotten to you yet. Don't be so eager to die."
The son of Hades stared his former friend in the eyes with his hazel gaze. He swallowed, and looked away. "Paige Max Zarate..." His hand was paused in motion before he brought it across, and the sickening sound of a blade slicing through solid skin cut through the air. "I'm sorry. I will make sure you reach the Isles." He released the girl, stepping back and feeling more sick than he had ever felt before.

Kathrine screamed out "SHADE NO!" her green eyes wide with horror as the blade sliced Max's throat. The daughter of Chronos falling to the ground onto the growing pool of her own blood. Kathrine's stomach lurking as she stared in horror.
Frozen for a moment the daughter of Persephone stepped backwards. They were both monsters... Her body trembling as she backed up "Well I'm afraid to tell you, you won't kill two tonight..." she told Dark. The blonde stepping backwards and away from them. She felt horrible about leaving Max, leaving her dying body there to let life seep out. But she couldn't stay to die if she could avoid it. As selfish as it may be, she knew she was no help dead...at least no help dead when she hadn't fixed anything yet.

Dark sneered, at last the job was done. He nodded in approval. Then he turned to Kat with a hiss, "You going to run, girlie? Lord Hades wants your soul, and the Fates have gotten theirs. It's your turn." He started towards the daughter of Persephone, but Shade's voice stopped him.
"Stop, we didn't get an absolute order. We've done enough today. Allow her to flee like a coward." Despite his cruel words, he was shaking himself, staring down at the lifeless form of the girl he had killed. He felt his voice stick in his throat, choking. His eyes beginning to tear up. But he hid that devastated face from Kat. she had the right to see that he was a murderer now. And a murderer only. It was only an order he had carried out, so why was he feeling this now? Kat's scream still reverberated through his bones, telling him to stop. But he hadn't. At least...he could stay and dispose of the blood and corpse.

Garret had been worried. Pacing in his dorm and looking outside to check on Max. But she had told him not to go with her. The son of Poseidon had decided that it had actually worked when suddenly their was a fire. And he knew something was wrong. Running out of his dorm he grabbed his sword and sprinted. His heart beating fast. Max... the only thought that rang through his head and he ran down the stairs and dashed out the Academy doors.
Silver Creek was too far. He heard a scream. He felt his self speed up. He couldn't be late. He had to be there for her. He had to save her. Just as he approached the creek he saw a unknown boy standing over the lifeless body of Max, her blood on the ground spreading. Kathrine had started to flee. Coward... he thought angrily. "What have you done!" he screamed at them.
Max was dying. He felt himself drown. Where was the air now? The creek split in half Garret glaring at Shade. YOU KILLED HER! he snarled. Both angry and in disbelief. How could have Max died? He shot a sea green gaze at Kathrine And it's your fault. his voice dripping with hatred as the creek started swaying like an ocean. The water rushing off it's course to make a loop around Garret and hit both Shade and Kathrine. The son of Poseidon's body trembling from anger and grief as his sea green eyes stayed locked on the lifeless body of Max. She was gone...how could she be gone...

Shade wobbled, feeling slightly faint and tired from the expense of his energy. Dark appeared beside him, supporting him by the shoulder. They both looked up as they heard running footsteps. "Garret Williams, son of Poseidon." His subordinate informed him quickly. A son of the sea god, and master of waters. He could match him at full strength, but right now, he was anything but full strength, and Garret was visibly furious.
"I did. Kathrine Woods had nothing to do with it. It was by the order of the Fates." Shade replied simply to his raging accusation, not denying his crime. He watched the waves of water swirl about his head. "Impressive." And when they crashed down on the pair, they were gone.
There was a moment of oases, and Shade's voice sounded behind the son of Poseidon. "Careful, wouldnt want to wash away her body now, would you?" He had shadow-traveled to the spot, and he had the dead Max in his arms. He had stopped the flow of blood from the cold body. She could have been asleep. His uncle Thanatos had already taken the soul to the Underworld. It was too late. "If you think about it, I would have had a lot more trouble ending her if you were around." He said icily, his hazel gaze locked onto Garret, each stinging word aimed for his heart. He gently set down the daughter of Chronos down. "Now if you have any revenge you want to take, it should be either on me....or yourself." He held out his arms, eyes narrowed and his heart squeezing painfully in his chest.
Dark stepped forward, "But Young Master-" He was cut off by an impatient hand held up. The creature stepped back, bowing his head. He knew he would have to stay out of this fight.

Pyre had been out training, once more, in the arena when he caught sight of a fire. Sheathing his sword, he didn't expect anything more than an accident by one of the newer students who still hadn't learned to control their powers. He was further away from the creek than Garret so did not arrive until after he had already gotten into a fight.
He knew nothing of the deal Max had made with a daughter of Persephone, nor the risks it brought upon her. When he arrived at the site after what felt like eons, Pyre had to stop dead in his tracks and take a moment to take everything in. Max was dead; two strange demigods were standing in the area, one hostile and one fleeing; a strange, nightmarish shape was at the side of the hostile demigod, acting as an informant from what he could tell; and, quite possibly the worst of all, the still very much alive son of Poseidon he had grown up with was running blindly into a battle against who seemed to be the one to have killed Max.
Hesitating for a moment more, he ran out to Garret, attempting to stop him. Resting a hand on his shoulder, he pulled backwards, gently, his mind still not able to comprehend what was happening. "Garret, what are you doing?" he asked, softly. "We can't do anything for her but give her a decent funeral - there's no telling how powerful this kid is." True, he seemed a couple years younger than them, both, but power was not determined by years but rather by training and there was no telling how much training this boy did.
