Her eyes continued to stare elsewhere, far into the distance, as she mindlessly followed Julien to the infirmary. She wasn't really listening to what he was saying, if he was saying anything. Cascade had no doubt known that she was an abnormal child, but to be a "demigod"? She searched her mind, sorting through vocabulary. Taking her earphones out of her ears, she looked at Julien from behind. How did he feel about this life, here at this....secluded camp? Where was everyone else? Why were Greek gods' names being thrown about? As an Atheist, she had no Christian belief in another religion, however, she did spend time thinking that if she did have any religion to choose from, she'd choose "Greek Mythology", as it wasn't really considered one.
Julien suddenly came to a stop, and Cascade nearly ran into him. She scanned her surroundings.

(Haha, I'll just copy-paste my Taking a Stroll post since it fits in here...)'
Julien stopped, turning to Cascade. "Here we are, the infirmary," he said, stepping in. "I'll get an Apollo kid to check you out." For the first time, however, Julien saw the confusion on Cascade's face. It wasn't confusion as to where she was. It was the unmistakable confusion of what she was and, of course, what Julien was saying. "Oh, you don't know," he said, almost to himself.

She watched him as he disappeared once more, but then again, she hadn't really been paying any attention to what he'd been doing, only following his shadow. Feeling bad, she glanced around to see if he was still there, or if he'd already gone to find a child of....Apollo. Was it really possible to be a child of....a god?

(I'll just make up a character right on the spot since the only kids of Apollo are Lauren Gray, who isn't on, at the moment, and Sabrina Rivers, an SCA kid...)
Julien returned, another boy about 17 at his side. "This is Jeremy. He'll help you out," he said, pointing to the tan, blonde kid beside him.
"haha what a joke, greetings<3 Matt," Jeremy said, waving. "Come inside?" Julien had told Jeremy that Cascade didn't know about the gods and everything, yet, as was normal for new campers, but he was sure she was a demigod as he saw Hermes bring her here and her earphones didn't seem like they were of mortal design. There was something to them....
Not waiting for Cascade or Jeremy to take the lead, Julien stepped into the Infirmary and sat on an empty bed, most of the others being empty, as well. The only campers in the infirmary being ones that would get out, soon, or ones who still hadn't recovered from Shade's attack a few weeks ago.

She shyly waved back. Cascade felt fine. Why was she at the infirmary? Perhaps they could heal internal scars with magic. Scanning her brain for Greek gods, she thought of Hecate. The Apollo kid went to the back of the infirmary, and Cascade sat down on the bed across from Julien, her feet swinging. So far, the day had been confusing. Everything was changing.

Julien figured he'd midas well explain things, here. Hesitating for a moment, he began. "So, how much do you know? Do you know who that was that dropped you off, here?" he asked, hoping she wouldn't go into denial after he'd explained it. Maybe it'd just take a little power demonstration. Now, if only Julien knew how to use his. Sighing, he wished some of the other campers were here, instead of him, to explain things. It would probably sound a little more believable coming from people who actually knew what they were talking about, rather than a relatively new camper who still couldn't grow a flower.

Taking her sketchbook out, she began to draw. She drew the man who brought her to the camp, and at the bottom, scratched out the words she'd written. She'd written words that would give away secrets, secrets that she'd buried deep within. Writing something new, she wrote:
A man with wings. Impossible.
Then, showing it to Julien, she looked him in the eye, her deep blue stare, full of mysterious sorrow, lingering for eye contact. She did not waver, for she herself had promised to be strong from then on, before the man with winged shoes came for her. Was she in an asylum for her sins?

Julien laughed, looking up from the drawing to meet her eyes. "Correction: A man with winged shoes. You've probably heard of him, too. His name is Hermes, and no, he's not impossible." Wondering where to go from there, he paused.
At that moment, Jeremy returned with a small dosage of ambrosia and a small glass of nectar. "Drink," he said, handing her the golden nectar and setting the plate of ambrosia cubes on the bed beside her.
Julien nodded in agreement to get her to drink the nectar, turning his gaze outside. He didn't know what to say, next. So, he went on by asking another question, one he didn't wait to hear the answer. "You've never met either your mother or father, correct? One of them took care of you, probably, but the other seemed to have never existed. That parent was forbidden to care for you by divine decree. The most common stories for their absence are left without notice, lost at sea, killed in a war, died of cancer, et cetera, et cetera." Pausing, Julien waited for that to sink in, glancing at Jeremy for reassurance, but he was hard at work doing his job - making sure Cascade wasn't injured in any way.

Reluctantly, Cascade drank the sweet drink, and it tasted like her favorite drink. Thinking of happy memories just made her feel worse inside, so she didn't finish the drink, leaving the food untouched as she listened to Julien talk. Surprisingly, after drinking the strange fluid, her throat no longer hurt. "Father left us. Mother said he was a very powerful man." It was the first time she spoke of her mother in a long time, and the sound of her soft, high pitched voice sent nostalgia to blossom within her heart.

Julien grinned. "And he was very powerful. Not that I personally knew him, or even know who he is, I can assure you he was powerful, though probably not in the way you'd imagined," he said, scooting back a little further onto the bed. "Gods, I wish I could use my powers," he muttered under his breath. "Things would be way easier to explain with a demonstration." Looking up, meeting Cascade's eyes, yet again, he continued, unsure where to go and was now just winging it. "Your father was - is -, well, how should I put this... immortal," he eventually said, letting his words sink in and waiting for the 'what? are you insane?' rant bound to follow.

"I see." Not all of this was a surprise to Cascade. She remembered the nightmares and visions she had. "Who is your...immortal parent?" The only thing that shocked her was the sound of her voice. Before all the bad things happened, the voice she had now was her voice. Then, she lost her voice. She wasn't entirely sure if she should celebrate or mourn that she could once again speak.

Julien's eyes widened a fraction at how well Cascade was taking things. "Demeter, goddess of the harvest," he said. "I would do a demonstration of power but we're inside and I can't even make grass grow..." he explained, feeling a bit pathetic. "Do you have any idea who your dad was?" he asked, trying to change the subject, but feeling a bit guilty for pinning so many questions on her. She must feel like she's going through an interrogation, he thought.
Jeremy simply walked over and took the nectar and uneaten ambrosia back to a table before quickly checking a few others in the infirmary, nodding to Julien, and leaving.
"Apparently, you're good to go!" Julien laughed, seeing Jeremy leave.

Cascade tried. She really did; she couldn't think of who her father was. "I...um. I used to have dreams, where I imagined my father... but somehow I cannot remember them." In the corner of her eye, she saw Jeremy take the food and drink. Turning around to thank him, she bowed slightly. Hearing that it was time to depart from the infirmary, she stood up to follow Julien, wondering where to go next.

"Well, I suppose I'll give you a tour?" Julien smiled, turning to the door. "And it's fine, it's normal not to remember who your parent is or what they look like," he reassured her. Taking a few steps forward, he left the infirmary and stood outside for a moment, waiting on Cascade.

"Does anyone else stay here?" Seeing how the camp was so eerily quiet, she thought of how unrealistic this seemed. Was she perhaps in the midst of a dream? She walked out the door, but not before slinging her pack over her shoulder once more. "What are all these cabins for?"
