Pyre blinked in surprise as Garret mentioned Max. Maybe he felt the same way he did - that things could go back to the way they were. Smiling and laughing, he felt as if a weight had been lifted off his shoulders - the weight of insanity. Today was a good day - a day of new beginnings. Maybe things would turn out in all their favors. "So need any help with anything?" he asked, sheathing the sword, again, and seeing how many files Garret had in his hand. "Sorting or grading fake papers or something?"

Garret shook his head "Actually I was just collecting all my files, and running a few errands. Helping some teachers..." he said. "But I was heading over to my dorm to leave the files, I think I won't need them soon," he grinned motioning to their new life. Their new beginning.

Pyre nodded, picking up some of the closest dummies and throwing them into a pile. "Then if you wait a sec, we can hang out... just like we used to." He wanted to be around Garret as much as he could before graduation came and Garret was promoted to teacher and they couldn't hang out. He wished Max were with them but he couldn't find the courage it took to apologize to her for acting rashly and not even trying to understand. At the same time, however, he wanted Max to apologize, first, for not choosing one or the other or not choosing either, the not choosing either being better than choosing both in Pyre's eyes.

Garret nodded. "I've got all the time in my life in this school. I can donate some to your cause," he told Pyre with a grin as she helped collect the destroyed dummies and added them into Pyre's growing stack "So what did you do? Reinact a massacre?" he asked laughing

Pyre laughed, throwing a dummy head at Garret. "Yeah, you interrupted." He quickly picked up a couple more dummies and threw them onto the growing pile, putting the ones still in tact in a separate one. "Maybe next time you can join in. I'll just tie you up to a pole and..." he grinned, not finishing the sentence as his laughing interrupted it.

Garret laughed "Pshh you know even tied to a pole you wouldn't beable to take all this," he said gesturing to himself as he ducked the dummy head then picked it up. Adding it to the pile as he laughed with Pyre. Tucking the files under his arm as he bent down to collect the small rags from the dummy head.

Pyre laughed, piling on more dummies. "Yeah?" he asked, "I wouldn't be so sure!" He was about to bring up the fight at the dance, but thought better of it and picked up more dummies, instead. The dance was a touchy subject for them, both. Now that they were starting to be friends, again, he didn't want to ruin it by bringing up their fight over Max. It was one thing to try to win her over by outsmarting each other and passing notes. It was a whole other situation when they fought without holding back. Had the fight lasted much longer, only one of them would be here, now, they were both so mad.

Garret grinned tossing the last dummy on the pile "I'm 100% sure." brushing some dust off he then brought over a trash can to throw away the dummies. Tossing the dummies into the large bin without much thought as he grinned. He enjoyed moments like these, just being friends. Not enemies.

Pyre let Garret throw the dummies into the trash can. He turned and began to use his powers to clean up the dirt and hay and everything else inside the dummies off the ground, channeling it all upwards and back down, into the trash. "Bet ya can't do that," he said, laughing. He wished his life was always like this - laid back and kind. But his life was horrible. He'd been through more in sixteen years than the average person does in thirty. The murder of a best friend, him being the murerer. Insanity. Girl troubles. Fights with his new best friend. He wished it would all end and he could wake up from this nightmare to a life of friends and family - a normal, mortal life.

Garret laughed "In water, you know it. In air. Not so much," he grinned closing the lid and pushing the trash bin away. Then returning he picked up the files and faced Pyre "Ready for some fun exciting paperwork? I bet youll love it," he said sarcastically.

Pyre grinned, putting his hands in his jacket pockets. "Sounds exciting," he said just as sarcastically. "You'll make a perfect teacher, y'know. I mean your not even my teacher, yet, and already your having me do homework!" Slowly, he began walking. He wasn't sure where to, though he figured it would probably be the dorms, so he was letting Garret take the lead.

Garret laughed "I know. Your such a slacker that I need to pile homework early just so I know you can at least do some of it," his sarcasm light and joking. Pyre was no slacker of any sort, he was more of an over achiever. Always getting good grades

"Looks like I'll be failing your class," Pyre joked. He knew he wouldn't. He'd probably be the best student just to annoy Garret with all those A's he'd be writing. Usually, Pyre did slack off a bit, though. He naturally got good grades whether he tried to or not. Anyone would think he was the perfect guy - smart, kind, funny, good looking. Then you found his secret past and his emotional unstability. That is, if he ever decided to tell... which he never did.

Garret laughed "Ohh no. Poor Pyre. Having to repeat a grade all because of my class..." he grinned patting his friend on the shoulder as if showing symphaty. But it was all part of his pretending lke Pyre had a chance at failing act. Sure Garret would be tougher on Pyre to avoid favoritism, but even then Pyre would probably still have an A.

Pyre wiped away an imaginary tear before laughing. "So where are we off to?" he asked. "Poseidon dorm?" This was where they usually went to hang out. The Minor Gods cabin was crowded and the popular social gathering places around campus were always crowded, too. So he, Max, and Garret always went to the Poseidon dorm with Garret being the only resident. It was always empty in there with only those three in there so they got away from the crowd.
