(Haha, yeah it will be pretty fun seeing how this turns out... but will they actually stop trying to kill each other and Arcane end up helping her? Maybe we should make a plot thread for this... xD)
Arcane laughed, snapping him out of his fate thoughts. "Yep, I'm gonna kidnap you. My white creeper van is parked over there. If you go quietly, I'll give you some candy!" he said, smiling. He didn't know where this was going, he'd planned on getting her alone, by now. But, whether he would admit it or not, Arcane was having a bit of fun. He actually felt like she was a friend... y'know, other than all the glances she gave him as if she were trying to figure out who he really was... which is what she was doing.
As Jackie turned out of the mall, Arcane followed without hesitation. He'd just say he wasn't paying attention to where they were walking, though in all actuality, he was glad they were leaving the mall. Too many witnesses.

(agreed xD)
Jackie laughed "Ohh yes I would definently go with you to your creeper van for some candy. " her sarcasm a joke as she smiled. Her pace casual but her mind whirling with both suspicion and friendliness. She wanted to have fun, but she knew the dangers. And frantically she didn't want to die without killing the monster who killed her parents.
Walking outside she took a deep calm breathe the cool air calming her instantly. She glanced to the side at the boy. Carter. "So where is the van? Or can I not get kidnapped tonight?" she asked with a laugh as she scanned the night for witnesses. If he attacked shed kill him, no hesitation.

(Okay, I'll make the thread...)
Arcane followed Jackie outside, stopping a few feet out. "Well, I guess I'm just becoming a pathological liar," he said, chuckling. "So I've told you my life story, pretty much. Time for me to ask some questions," he said, continuing to walk. "You never told me what you're doing out here." Arcane normally wouldn't ask questions, but he was both enjoying her company compared to other monsters who couldn't hold up their end of a conversation for the world and because he wanted to find exactly how well she could lie.

Jackie laughed at him then shrugged welcoming the questions and her responses. "Well my friend wanted me to drop off something for a guy who lives or rather lived down that alley. When I got there we had a bit if a fight over my friend and how he should stop messing with her head. You know drama. And he just packed his things and left to go somewhere. I suppose to live with relatives." this story was common in New York. People constantly move in and out for the silliest reasons.
Jackie without thinking started heading towards her house. Her mind no longer on killing him as she focused in her lie not wanting to mess things up.

Arcane silently complimented her in his head for using a lie that contained elements common in their location. "So, I guess he wasn't the nicest person in the world," he said, trying to make it sound as if he didn't know what exactly to say. He followed Jackie down another street. There were still a lot of people out so he decided to wait until they passed a dark alley before he would make his move.

Jackie shrugged "Some guys are jerks," she said simply. She didn't seem to pay much attention to Arcane. Rather she watched her surroundings. Looking for mobsters, shadows, anything...in a sense Jackie was paranoid. But sane, to a certain extent. "Any more questions?" she asked grinning

They turned the corner and there seemed to be no people on this street. Grinning, he decided he may make his move, here. But, he hesitated, wondering if he should. Deciding to wait, at least, until they got further into the middle of the street, he waited. But they passed a dark alley and Arcane caught something in the corner of his eye - movement. Stopping, without saying a word, he glared into the darkness. Had he been in his dragon form, he could have seen straight through to the end of the alley, which looked like it ended in a dead end. But he couldn't give up his cover and become a dragon just because he thought he saw movement.

Jackie felt a strange prickle like somebody or something was watching. Her hand wrapping around the poisonous needle in her pocket and her warm skin brushing against the cool bronze dagger that was hidden. Her blue eyes were attentative as she stared at Arcane who was glaring at the dark. Was he as paranoid as she? Jackie paused. Her pace slowing slightly as she studied each shadow with caution and care. She moved behind Arcane and whispered softly over his shoulder and nearly into his ear "Is it me or does it suddently feel like we have company?" she asked.

Arcane didn't reply. Instead, he slowly moved toward the shadows, fighting the urge to draw his weapon which he'd been sure to hide as best he could from Jackie. Vaguely, he wondered if she could see it now that the side of his leg it was strapped to wasn't facing away from her. But he didn't care at the moment as, now, he was concentrating on looking through the darkness within the alley. He would wish there were lights in every alleyway but that would make things harder on him, as well.

Jackie frowned when he didn't reply. But shrugged it off. Until she caught sight of a hilt. Her suspicion of him to its max "So...Carter, tell me, why do you walk armed?" she asked stopping next to a dark shadow without thinking as he moved ahead. She crossed her arms over her chest. Though it wasn't like she was innocent either. Her bronze dagger hidden.

Realizing she had noticed the sword, he decided it was time to reply. Though, now that he didn't have to put up the innocent mortal act, he didn't exactly have to be completely nice and naive. He could have a little bite to his words. "Why do you?" he countered. "I'm not the only one here hiding secrets, though your secrets have never been hidden from me." Pausing, he added, "Nice job in the alley, by the way. It was a lot of help." Finally turning to her, shrugging off the idea he'd seen movement, his eyes met hers for a moment. But that moment was brief as he quickly realized the movement wasn't imagined. "Jackie..." he said, warningly.

Jackie smiled "So why didn't you come clean to begin with?" she held the needle firm not ready to stick it into his neck and send the poison through his body. Her bright blue eyes locked onto his eyes fearlessly "You know you don't have much to fear rather than death," she told him her smile bright and a bit dangerous. This was what she was waiting for. A sign to know he wasn't mortal. Now all she needed was proof he wasn't a demi-god. But his warning made her frown "What Carter if that's even your name." she said quite clearly and not looking behind her.

Arcane would have smiled when Jackie wondered if Carter was even his real name had he not been so worried. "Run," he said, eyes widening at the shape behind her. He recognized it, vaguely, but it was still hidden in shadows and he couldn't tell who it was, exactly. So, instead, he drew his sword, hoping - and would have been praying had he not despised the gods - Jackie would run. But hopes and dreams are shattered every day and today didn't look very kind.

Jackie snorted at Arcane's face. Believing it was an act "ha! Run from a fight! I'm no coward," she told him her blue eyes flashing as she stood there stubborn and unaware of whatever was behind her. That was until she saw a shadow move. A frown an her face as she looked at Arcane "What are you trying to scare me with magic? Cause it won't work," she told him flatly. She was hard headed and stubborn. And being stupid, not looking behind her was foolish.

(Do you want me to be the one to post the monster grabbing Jackie or will you?)
Arcane was still trying to pin a name to the shape he saw. He knew it probably wouldn't attack and kill Jackie while she was in the light. "What? No!" he said, replying to Jackie. "What are you talking abou-" he stopped himself, seeing the shadow grow. "Okay, I may or may not be able to do that but I can assure you I'm not doing it at the moment," he said, spinning his scimitar. "Now, run. Please." He was doing his best to stay calm. He couldn't lunge at the monster as Jackie would think he was lunging at her and he'd grown a liking to this mortal. He wasn't about to see her killed by a monster lurking in the shadows.
