Silene was originally a long range fighter, but it had felt weak. The daughter of Khoine had always felt more risky and skillful at close combat. She eyed the targets, wondering if she had gotten rusty. She smiled coldly at the thought. Yeah right.
A cloudy freezing mist formed around her quickly, turning the already chilly winter air around her even colder. Ice particles formed without even a gesture, and an assortment of throwing knives formed around her. She shot all of thematic the target, having them form in a complete and perfect circle in the bullseye. The last dagger of ice penetrated through the center of the ring she had made. A last stray knife she held in her hand, studying the crystal hilt. She threw it to the side, zipping into the bushes. "You there, eavesdropping isn't kind."

Stumbling out of a bush, Julien sighed with the relief Seline's ice dagger had missed him. "S-Sorry," he stuttered. "I was just seeing how good you were." He felt as if everyone around him had mastered their powers while Julien couldn't do anything even if he tried. A few kids had claimed it was because it was nearly winter and, being the son of the goddess of agriculture and plantlife and such, it would probably be a little more difficult to master his powers at this time. Still, he felt pretty pathetic compared to the other campers.

Silene regarded the boy coldly for a moment, before turning back away. "It's fine...I guess." The daughter of Khoine felt uncomfortable. She hadn't really had anyone watching her train before, unless they were training with her. Beginning to get slightly nervous, she went over to a rack. In one fluid motion, she flung a bow with pin point accuracy for him to catch. She tossed a quiver full of arrows after it in succession. "You should do some practicing."

Julien caught the bow, but the quiver fell to the ground, arrows spreading onto the ground. Hurrying to pick them up and place them back into the quiver, he slung it over his back, having a bit of trouble with it, and turned back to Seline. "I-I've never used a bow, before. Are you sure you want me training next to you?" he asked, scared of his own lack of skill. Julien glanced at the bullseye, nervously, and shivered at the thought of a misfired arrow.

Silene was greatly surprised as well as amused with his words. He had never used one before. Oh, this would be interesting. The demigoddess walked towards Julien, who was awkwardly fitting the quiver on. Her winter green eyes deep like the color of a frosted pine tree. She reached out a hand, skin paper white and smooth. She adjusted the position of the bow in the right angle. "You should at least try. All demigods give every weapon a shot, unless they have already mattered a weapon of their own. I don't take it that you have, right?" Silene eyed the boy, and released a cold and quick smile. It held little bemusement. "I'll stand behind you. You'd have to be a master to shoot backwards."

"You'd have to be a master to shoot backwards."
Julien grinned. "Oh, just you wait!" he laughed, pulling an arrow from the quiver like he'd seen done on many Robin hood movies, careful not to smack Seline in the face. He'd heard she wasn't too kind to others and didn't want to get on her bad side. He really didn't want to get on anyone's bad side.
Notching the arrow, he pulled his arm back, holding on to the tip of the arrow but not touching the string as he knew not to do from friends who seemed to enjoy archery, attempted to take aim, and released the stress on the string, sending the arrow flying... into a tree. An angry dryad came out, yelling and pulling the arrow from her tree, but returned to the oak after Julien apologized, looking helplessly at the sky. Perhaps his mom would help him out. Maybe she was secretly an archery whiz. If she was, it surely hadn't rubbed off on Julien.

Silene watched in amusement, her green eyes brightening in bemusement. The dryad was probably one of the only things since she had arrived at camp that made her crack a genuine smile. Her eyes glittered as he apologized to the tree spirit. She looked away so he wouldn't see her grin as he returned, looking less than hopeful.
Silene turned back when she had regained her usual demeanor. A mist clouded around her, and she forced it together in a single cloud in her hands, compacting into an ice bow. The girl pulled back the string, showing the stance to him properly. "Like this."

Julien smiled, trying to encourage himself. "This?" he asked, attempting to imitate the stance. Anyone with half a satyr's brain could figure out he had never touched a bow in his life, other than maybe at Cabela's while his father was buying ammo and hunting tags for hunting season, when he used to bring home anything from a deer to a squirrel.

Silene couldn't help it. She cracked up. His stance was alright, but it was his expression that was hilarious. He seemed to be trying as best he could. She hadn't laughed like this in a long time. The time when Ash was still around. The time before he died because of her. Or so her mother had said.
"If you make friends, that curse of yours will just get them killed in the end. They will just deceive you in the end anyway."
Silene's smile fainted, but her green eyes were amused. "Ah..you're close, just raise your arm a little, and when you pull back, pull it to your ear. Keep your back straight."

Julien was a little surprised, though it didn't show, when Seline began to laugh because of the things he'd heard about her, all the warnings to steer clear. Her, Silver and Zeke were the worst this Camp had to offer. Still, she seemed nice enough or, rather, she wanted to be nice but refused to allow herself to make any friends. Seline seemed to be trying to stay strictly professional.
Still, Julien obeyed and straightened his back, lifted his arm up, slightly, and pulled the string back to his ear, letting loose the arrow for it to fly into the target, though it still didn't hit the bulls-eye.

"Much better." Silene nodded, eyes still somewhat glittering in amusement. Her bow disappeared into a misty cloud and dispersed in the cool morning air. She looked down at her fingers, pale white in the mist. A faint line of scars went across her fingers. She quickly tucked her arm tightly to the side, unable to look at them for some reason. They were the results of training intensly to become how strong she was now. And still, she couldn't match to any of the children of the Big Three. Stronger. She had to be stronger still to impress her mother. She had pulled the bow back so hard with her strength, the rope had cut into her fingers. Still she tried for more. A harder shot. Silene disliked that memory now. She used to see it as a part of her diligent history, but now that she looked at it, it had been pointless. Still, even if she was stringer still, she could not be as strong as the Big Three.

"Psh, I'm a natural!" Julien joked, eyes glinting with amusement. Notching another arrow, he shot it with slightly better accuracy, though he still didn't hit the bulls-eye. Walking over to the target, he figured he'd better take the arrows out. Otherwise, his luck, he'd shoot one of them and watch helplessly as it snapped in a split second. He really didn't want to explain to Chiron how that'd happened.

"You're good enough if you hit the target on your first try!" Seline replied with raised eyebrows. She went back to practicing beside him. Her knife forming themselves quickly as she shot them one after another at the targets. They hit the center, the second shattering the first, and so on. Ice danced around her in a weaving defensive pattern. It matched her naturally white hair and pale skin.

Julien nearly dropped his bow. Seline seemed like a goddess with the power she held. He only wished he could do half as much, just make a tree grow or make a few more strawberries grow in the fields at the edge of camp. No, he was here just starting to learn how to shoot a bow. He couldn't fight with a sword; he had tried fighting with a spear, too. Both of which he failed miserably at.
Turning back to the target, he began firing off a few more arrows, each either missing or hitting the very edge of the target. A few hit towards the bulls-eye, but none came anywhere near enough for celebration.

Silene was rather enjoying the training. Sometimes she couldn't help but be engulfed in working her powers that she loved with so much zeal. Eventually, she began to notice that Julien wasn't doing as well and had a rather dejected mood about him. Silene shut off her powers, the mist around her evaporating to join the cool air surrounding her. She went over to Julien with that cold smile of hers, but this time, it held some playfulness. "You need to concentrate, and when you aim, keep both eyes open, don't shut an eye. Also, aim a bit higher because you don't pull back hard enough. It will arc. Strong arrows fly straight." She added the last part teasingly.
