Julien glared playfully at her and did as he was told. He aimed a little higher; he made sure he kept both eyes open; he tried to concentrate. When he fired off the arrow, it hit more towards the bulls-eye than he'd ever done, before - though it still wasn't in the middle circle. "Maybe some day I'll be able to hit the bulls-eye," he said, hopefully.

"That's quite the dream." The sentence was out of her mouth before she could stop it. Silene was used to pushing people away and such, so her usual habits of insulting another were evident. She felt a spark of guilt for saying such a thing, and she immediately recoiled, wondering how to make up for the remark. "I meant that.." She looked at him, waiting for a reaction of any kind. "You'll need practice, and I can help...I'm sure it'll happen..." Why was she offering help?

Julien smiled. "Thanks, Seline," he beamed, notching and firing another arrow, which flew about to the same spot as the previous. He didn't take any offense by her comment. Well, maybe a little, but he just shrugged it off as he did with everything else. Sure, once he got mad enough, he'd start throwing some comments back, but he didn't mind them, today. Today, he was happy. He was getting the hang of the bow and arrow.

Surprised by his nonchalant reply, she blinked her winter green eyes a few times. If she could blush, she would have, but she never did before. Her pale white skin didn't seem to have the ability to flush and turn red. The daughter of Khoine turned back to her own target with a small scoff. "You're ridiculous, there's no reason to thank me."

Julien smiled back at Seline. "Sure there is," he replied. "Without you, I would still be hitting trees and apologizing to dryads. You've helped me a lot within just a few minutes. Pretty soon I could rival you!" he teased, though he knew he would never be able to rival Seline. She was simply the best he'd ever seen and he tended to watch quite a few campers and see what he could learn.

Normally, Silene would have flashed a glare at Julien, but she stopped herself from the urge and calmed herself down. There was no reason to be angry. Keeping a calm expression as cold as ice, like always, she nailed the center. Growing bored, she decided to do something else. She pinned the target's outmost ring. One by another, until the whole outside of the target was ringed with ice daggers, each two inches apart exactly. She tried to find a reasonable reply, but instead, the words came out of her mouth slightly jumbled. "S-stop joking around. I did no such thing."

Shooting another arrow at the target, he glanced at Seline, his only reply being a smile. Slowly, he walked over and took out the arrows which were sticking out of the target - as well as the few which had been misfired and hit the ground.

Silene studied the blonde boy, her eyes tracing everything about his cheerful and gentle features. Yes, he was very much like him. He even looked like him. Silene turned back to her own target, somewhat agitated now. She pulled back to bowstring hard with all her might. The rope began to cut into her fingers as she released the strong flying arrow of ice. It penetrated into the target, shaft sinking in deep. She barely felt the blood dripping from her fingers. It was something natural to her. Her mother always ordered her to push herself as much as possible. Pain was something that would accompany hard work as well as success. That was how she was raised.

Julien walked back and had fired a few arrows before finally realizing things had gone a little silent. Glancing over at Seline, he notice a hue which didn't match that of the child of the snow goddess - red. "Y-You're bleeding," the words were out before he could stop them. She'd probably already realized that. From what Julien could tell, she was more of the strong, silent type, even if that title was normally attached to males. From what Julien could tell, she was kind and wanted to be kind but something was holding her back from doing so. Something kept her secluded. Still, it wasn't his business to get into. He wanted to help her but he didn't want to get involved. There might be something more to her story he wouldn't like.

Silene blinked, his words snapping her out of her distant trance. She glanced at her fingers, realizing that she had shot more than once, making the cuts only deeper. "Ah...So I am. How careless of me." Ice froze on top of her wounds, sealing them as if they were a part of her. "What an inconvenience. I'm sorry. There is no need to worry." She gave Julien her cold smile. The daughter of Khoine knew this would probably scare the boy, but it seemed better that way for her. Maybe he would stay further away from her, and she wouldn't start to smiled so warmly ever again. Little did she know, it was her own mother killing those too close to her. The goddess wanted her daughter to be iron bound and solitary.

Julien stood, un-wavered by Seline's cold smile. He flashed a smile back at her and shot a few more arrows before gathering them and turning to Seline. "I really have to go. This was my free time for today until after dinner and my cabin has battle training, next, so I have to grab my armor and knife and everything," he said. "So, I'll see ya later, Seline!" With a smile, he turned and ran off.

Silene watched him go, maybe a little bit longingly, but mostly calmly. His reaction had not surprised her. He had seemed a bit frightened off at the last part. It was better that way, she thought yet again. So many had left so abruptly the same way. This one, she couldn't count which number this one was. She gazed at the ice sealing her wounds, trying to think like a "normal" teen. Was it odd? That is, was it odd to train this hard? She allowed the ice to melt, and her wounds began to heal themselves as the ice disappeared. She clenched her fist, flexing her fingers. Well, she might as well get back to training. "Goodbye." She whispered to herself, realizing she had forgotten to reply to Julien.
