Shade was in bed on his stomach. The nurse had stitched the wound in his back. It hurt so much even with the painkiller.chow that it was wearing off the stinging of the medicine was unbearable. The bandages wrapped across his back and stomach. From waist to chest. It was because it stretched up his back. Apparently the nurse had said it was long but not deep. He wouldn't be able to return to his cabin for four days. That meant two days for his point of view. He always healed quickly. He had countless bruises that were no problem. His arm had a cut that was already almost healed. Terry had fixed his nerves back to normal.
Terry had said his apologies so many times that it made Shade send him out. It was fine. It was the demon's fault. But he couldn't get the look of his friend's eyes filled with hatred out of his head. He thought about Dodge. If what Terry said was true, the man he had loved for so long could not be trusted. But it didn't matter. He would know what to feel if he ever saw Dodge again.

Kathrine walked in with a pot of the gods-know-what. The strange plants were a mutation of a japanese cherry blossom tree, purple grape vine, and a flower. An amazing growth by her. Strangely the plant is very resistant. She had infact tested it out, since it won't stop singing "Hey," she said walking in with the pot "Here's a...what-it..."

Terry was on the bed in the room next to him. He had one cut from the demon and a sore right arm from tensing it too hard too long. He would need a day to recover his energy before he was up and at it again. he slid out of the blankets quietly and walked into his room. He saw him stir.
Terry had watched the nurse give him the stitches and medicine. Shade had clenched the sheets in his hand so tight that they were still crumpled. But he hadn't made a sound. He seemed to be in constant pain. Terry had apologized but Shade didn't accept them. He said there was no need, and that they were good.
Terry walked over and sat down in the chair next to his bed. He could see the pain in his eyes. "You okay, bro?" he lifted his head to see Kat walk in with some....flowers...he had seriously never seen that kind. He smiled. "Yo."

Seeing Terry she smiled "Hey Terry. Feeling any better?"

He looked up to see Terry sit down next to him, so he started to get up. He shifted into sitting position. He didn't want his back to touch anything anyway. It was fine. "I'm alright. I'll be good in two days." He waves at the cut on his back. It had sealed together and was already scabbed. It still stung like crazy though. He looked up and nodded to Kathrine in greetings. He was still the shy type that didn't talk much. He saw the flowers. "Thanks for the..Uh...thanks." He didn't bother to touch them. He would just kill them.

Seeing how he didn't touch them she said "They won't die. I've tried, lighting them on fire, burying them, freezing them, electricuting them, poisoning them, polluting their insides, destroying their roots, growing a different plant inside- that explains the grapes- and feeding them to animals," she laughed. Those flowers liked her, unlike the others, they did what she asked. The problem was, they never stopped.

"haha what a joke, greetings<3 Matt Kat, I'm doing fine, actually. Just tired, is all. Apparently that demon was taking my energy for a while. A day. I'll recover by tonight." Terry smiled and looked at Shade, his gaze stern. "Is it alright for you to sit?"

"But...they're plants..they wilt when I touch them." He muttered. He looked at it doubtingly. He still didn't feel like moving them. Maybe later. He looked up at Terry. "The nurse said it was alright. If i dont strain my back or let anyhting touch it, I can move. I cant walk around though, it strains it. So she gave me these." He waved towards the crutches at the end of his bed. "I've been learning a lot from the infirmary lately."

She flashed another smile and said "Hey Terry watch this," then looking at the flowers she set them out "Sing," she said. And they began with a sweet melody "Dance," she then told them. And they swayed in perfect rhytim. "Give them something to drink," and they grew upwards to them and softly squirted out some grape juice. Kat never tried getting wine out, that was what Matthew did, and she knew she couldn't. But normal fruit juice worked.

He watched in fascination, unable to say anything. He reached up to touch one of the leaves...and it didnt recoil. It didnt die! This was the first one. He raised his had to feel the petals. The first time to feel a flower's petals. He winced as his back throbbed. He lowered his hand. No stretching, he reminded himself.

"It's a success! This one listens! Congrats, you're gaining some control." He praised. He looked back to see Shade touch it. He watched amazed. It didn't wilt. Terry smiled. Then he nodded in thanks to the plant and took both cups of grape juice and passed one to Shade. "Careful, don't stretch."

He spotted his stuff on the table next to his bed for the first time. He grabbed the swords careful not to strain his reach. He put them on the bed and stroke the sheathes.

"It doesn't all the time," she told him wistfully, but smiled as Shade touched it "Petals are soft aren't they?" she said grinning "Stop singing," their was a protest among the plants But this is the best part. It's for you Kathrine. You will like it and love us forever. Kathrine shook her head "Nope, time to stop," but the flowers protested and she sighed "Fine finish," so the song continued.

He couldn't help but chuckle at their interaction. These plant liked her. And he was glad to see it. He turned to see Shade take his weapons off the stand. "Those are important to you, aren't they?" he asked, remembering the day he first came, freaking out over them.

He nodded slowly, checking to make sure the blades weren't nicked. They were spewing fire and alive. The iron was cold and sucked in darkness, blowing out freeaing air. He put his black flame on it, making it contrast. It burned harder and cut harder like that. But he had to say words to activate them. When his energy ran out, they quieted. They were whispering to him now. "Smoke and wither." He whispered the words and his swords gave a tiny hiss. They wavered in the light, turning gray. Then from the hilt to the tip of the sheathe, each one turned to smoke and blew away into the air.
