Ellyse lay in her bunkbed staring at the bottom of the bed that was above her face. She traced the pattern of the wood with her ocean eyes again and again. She didnt feel like getting up. Her perfectly straight hair was splayed around her head on her pillow. Her eyes were darker than usual, a sign that she was sad or depressed. There was a good reason why, though. Her sister was gone, missing, disappeared. Sweet little Cascade who was only eleven. Ellyse knew she could take care of herself but, she was a bit over protective and plus her sister was missing. That was enough to get anyone worried.
She let out a sad sigh and turned on her side to face the wall the bunk was against. A single tear escaped from her eye. Cascade was her life. She was the only one she trusted and loved with all of her heart. That may sound a bit strange but, it was true. Ellyse didn't have a good reason to trust people when she was younger. Her parents had abused her, her friend talked behind her back, you get the idea. So basically Cascade was all she had They understood each other, they were there for each other. She gave a small sniffle as she thought of how much she missed her.
Ellyse thought back to all the memories she shared with her, both the good and bad. She smiled to herself at all the good or funny ones and flinched at the bad. She remember when they had first met, it was fairly awkward and they had both got off on the wrong foot. It took them a while but, finally they had come to care deeply about eacother. If only she was here now.
Ellyse smiled as her eyes found a picture on the wall. It was one of her and Cascade under water swimming with the fish. She reached out a hand to touch it, her fingers just grazing it as she pulled away. "Oh Cascade.." she whispered in her British accent. She gave a weak smile before turning to lay down on her back again. Looking back she realized that most of her happiest memories involved Cascade. All of a sudden she heard to door to the cabin squeak as it always did when opened. She couldn't help but feel hopeful. Maybe she had returned! Ellyse curiously turned her head to see who it was

After listening to Justin and Tina for a while, Cascade got lost in the conversation. There were so many emotions she had yet to experience, and she couldn't follow their conversation. Rather gutted, she slung her backpack over her shoulder and made her way out of the Aphrodite Cabin. Before she headed back to her own, she sprinted to Julien's cabin. If what Justin had said was true, about some character being able to raise the dead, Julien could be...alive. But there was no such feat. When she reached the Demeter Cabin, his bunk was still barren and drab, lonely without its occupant.
An empty feeling made Cascade's stomach churn, and she felt her eyes water. Quickly brushing away the mysterious water, she assessed her brain with facts of the human body. Could she actually be crying? Camp had made her a new person, with several emotions to spare at the moment. Now she understood some emotions, and could even feel them.
She still wasn't good with people, though, so she traced Julien's initials on his bed sheets with her index finger and ran for her own cabin. Upon her arrival at camp, she had never made contact with her sister. That was completely idiotic of her, but she couldn't go into the past to reverse what had already been done.
Cascade heard the familiar creak in the door when it opened. Inhaling the semi-familiar scent of the cabin, she knocked softly on the door. "Sister, are you in?" Yes, Cascade had family. Family that she could relate to. She wasn't sure if she 'loved' her family member, but they definitely had a special bond. She'd met Ellyse before disappearing, and every day in her cell, had thought of her. Cascade didn't know what she was to Ellyse besides a sister, but she figured that she was about to find out. She opened the door all the way and surveyed the cabin. It had been almost exactly as she had left it. Well, her bunk, at least. Ellyse's was occupied, and she felt something warm inside. Ellyse was the only one she could ever trust. Ever. It wasn't that she had trusted Ellyse with everything; they just had a special sort of bond that was forged by blood. Ellyse had poured out her heart to Cascade, and patiently waited for Cascade to unload on her. She was so patient with Cascade, so caring, and such a wonderful sibling. Finally, after training while away without leave, she was ready to tell Ellyse everything. After all, with such a pure-hearted girl, nothing about trust could possibly go wrong. Right?
She heard sniffling and immediately felt a pang of pain in her chest. The emotion or feeling that took over inside brought unbearable pain, but she couldn't comprehend it. On the off chance that Ellyse wept for her, Cascade experienced something entirely new. "Ellyse, I've returned."

Ellyse let out a small gasp when she saw the small form of her sister. A large smile was already forming on her face. She almost couldn't believe it. "Cascade!" She almost yelled in her British voice. She flew off the bad and ran to her little sister. Ellyse wrapped her arms tightly around Cascade. "I've missed you so much. Where have you been? What happened to you? Why didn't you contact the camp?" The questions poured out of her mouth one after another. She held her younger sibling at arms length and looked her over. She didn't seem to be seriously injured or anything.
Ellyse gave her beloved sister another smile before enveloping her in a hug again. She still couldn't believe that her sister was back. She always knew she was alive though. Ellyse never once thought she was dead. It was just a felling in her gut hat she had. "I'm just so happy you're back!" She just stood there and continued to hug her sister. She wanted to make up for that time when she was gone. Finally she wrenched herself away and went to sit on her bed again. She patted the spot on the mattress once to how that Cascade could sit there is she wanted.
Ellyse's eyes were watering but, this time it was tears of joy. She wiped her eyes with the back of her hand. That huge smile still lit up her face. This was the best thing in the world. It felt like her whole life was a bit brighter. Well, a lot brighter. She had her little sister that she loved back. This was the best thing she could have ever asked for. "Thank the gods you're alive and well."
(Short, sorry)

(Ha, you call that short!? The minimum is like 20 words. owo; "Well, at first I was just wandering, and I crossed the camp boundaries by mistake. Then, social services caught up with me. I was in a holding cell for ages, just because I wouldn't rat myself out." Before Cascade could tell her anything else, she was hugged and hugged and hugged-Ellyse was seemingly overjoyed at her return. "Urm, yeah. I'm alive." She tentatively wrapped her arms around Ellyse, hugging someone back for the first time. "Please don't cry. Do you mind if I sleep? My voice is overworked. I promise I will tell you everything when I wake up." Exhausted, Cascade sat down on Ellyse's bunk and put her head in Ellyse's lap. She looked up at her big sister, who had the broadest smile imaginable and felt warm inside. Satisfied, she slowly drifted off into sleep. Who are you, kid? You don't belong here. You never belong anywhere; kids like you. Wanderin' in the streets, are you? What's your purpose? You look a little Asian, eh? Well, goshdarnit, I ain't never seen an Asian kid in the city that just wanders here alone. Pathetic. Your parents, I mean. They didn't push you enough. You must have a terrible family. In Cascade's dream, she recalled a peddler that kept insulting her and her family. He made a snide comment about her family, and then insulted her siblings. Ellyse never deserved to be insulted. Perfect Ellyse. At that moment, Cascade had felt rage build up, and she watched as herself in her dream wiped out a crowd nearby with a geyser of water from underneath the bridge they were on. Her other side had taken over, the one filled with rage and hate. And she had harmed others. She had wasted so much power that she passed out for two or three days straight. When she woke up, she was in a holding cell, and the warden was on the phone with child services. When the warden came in with a sweet smile playing on her lips and two police officers at hand, Cascade knew whatever nice things that came out of the warden's mouth was bound to be a lie. Hello, dear. Mind telling us what happened out there? You were the only one on a usually-busy bridge, and you were unconscious on the sidewalk. The entire bridge was soaked, but only you were dry. Sweet pea, you're not in any kind of trouble. Auntie here is just trying to help you. That's what we're here for. Help. You need some of that, dearest, so why don't you tell sweet aunt Rebecca what happened? Can you remember? Cascade reminisced over being grilled in an interrogation room, watching her dream self from afar. She winced as the dream version of her was slapped by the warden. STOP MESSING WITH ME, LITTLE PUNK! YOU THINK WE ASKED TO BE HERE? JUST GIVE US OUR ANSWERS BEFORE WE LOCK YOU UP AND THROW AWAY THE KEY. IT DOESN'T MATTER THAT YOU'RE A KID. WE'RE LOOKING AT A POTENTIAL TERRORIST THREAT AND MURDER OF THE SECO- Cascade ignored her dream self, wandering in the blackness, when she heard a voice calling her. Sitting up with a jolt, Cascade found herself back in the cabin, awake. [[Sorry, it turned out to be longer than I thought...owo;]]

(Haha, it's alright) Ellyse remained silent she she told her what happened. She nodded and was about to say more when Cascade's arms wrapped around her. "Yes, sleep darling. You need it. Take all the time you need. She smiled broadly as she lay down in her lap. As her eyes started to close Ellyse hummed 'Puff the Magic Dragon' softly. She stroked her head as she slept. She remembered that her mother used to do that to her when she was younger. She wondered what she was dreaming about if anything at all.
Ellyse sat on the bed for a good two hours with her sister. Sweet little Cascade. She didn't deserve to have to go there and get caught. Ellyse was just so relieved that she was alive. In the distance she heard the conch horn singling it was time for lunch. "Cascade," she said somewhat loudly to wake her up. "Lunch time." Ellyse smiled as her sister jolted up. She gave a small chuckle and got off the bed. "I'm going to give you a few minutes to get ready, change, whatever, I'll be just outside the door." Ellyse gave her sister a smile. She thought that she might want to change after her trip and freshen up after her nap. "Oh, by the way, you might want to brush your hair sleepy head," She laughed softly and walked outside to wait. (Meh...Short...again xD)

Grabbing a hairbrush, Cascade absent-mindedly combed through her hair. Just a few strokes would do; that's how her hair worked. Slipping out of her dirt-streaked outfit, she found some casual clothes and wriggled into them. Her stomach felt angry, and she peeked through the door before a ray of sunlight beamed into the room, momentarily blinding her. Her eyes adjusted slowly, and she stepped outside, breathing in the fresh air. "Ellyse, how long was I asleep for?" Ellyse was smiling, and she felt welcome near her sister. Slinging her backpack over her shoulder, she stood next to her sister on the porch. Half-sister, sister, what did it matter? She finally had some family. She finally had someone to care for, and someone to care for her. Ellyse was the only one she could bring herself to truly care for. She wasn't entirely sure what Tina and Julien were to her. Acquaintances, perchance, but she hoped to make some friends. Tina was a likely probability, but Julien could never come back unless she found that strange Nick child.
The conch horn sounded once more, and Cascade recognized it as the sound that woke her up as well as the noise that rounded up campers for an afternoon meal. Looking up at her sister, she looked from the Mess Hall to Ellyse over and over again.

She smiled as Cascade walked out of the cabin. Her hair was neat and her clothes clean. She thought about her question a bit. "For about two hours," she finally decided. Her stomach gave a loud rumble. She gave an embarrassed grin. It had sounded like a dying whale. Ellyse noticed a smudge of dirt on her nose. She crouched down by her and wiped it off with her thumb. She looked into her sister's eyes. "You look beautiful," she said softly in her British accent. For once it put more emotion into her words instead of taking it away. She smiled and gave Cascade another hug before brushing of her pants and getting up.
The last call for lunch rang out in her ears. She looked playfully back at Cascade. "Come on, I'll race you there," she took off at a fast jog. She looked behind to see if her sister was following. She couldn't help with all the smiling and hugging. She was just so happy to have her sister back.

"Uhhh...." Cascade had no idea what to say in reply to Ellyse's nice compliment. No one had ever really complimented her. She felt warm in her cheeks, and she didn't know what that meant. It was rather strange, but she accepted it anyway. She kept being hugged and hugged and hugged. Cascade usually hated physical contact, but with Ellyse, it just felt so...so...right.
She let Ellyse run off in the direction of the Mess Hall and quietly followed, taking out her earphones and softly playing music. Cascade didn't bother running; she didn't even know where the mess hall was. Speeding up her pace a little bit, she trailed behind Ellyse's dust.

Ellyse slowed down when she realized that Cascade wasn't exactly running. She continued in a walk. There was a new spring in her step that was never there before. She stopped and waited for her sister to catch up. Her sister was a bit behind. When she had caught up she pointed towards the big, open pavillian. It was filled with people sitting at large benches. There was one table for each cabin. Nearly all of them were filled. "There it is."
(Lazy, I know. You should make the new thread now. XD)
