Jackie rolled over having been knocked to the ground by Leon. Her voice a deadly hiss "Well your friend there killed MY family. I don't care if he saved your life. He ripped MY life to shreds," she spat at him her imperial gold sword spinning as she jumped to her feet and dashed off leaving Leon to get to Arcane. Nothing would stop her. No. She would not let him get away. It had been a long search, and now this Leon was keeping her away from revenging her family.
Jackie wanted Arcane dead. She knew he'd come back but she wanted him gone. She wanted him killed by her own hands. Jackie running at Arcane and throwing her remaining daggers with deadly precision. Leon would probably chase after her. Hold her back. But she was ready for him to come up, she had a handgun with imperial gold bullets she hadn't used yet, and one dagger she hadn't thrown at Arcane. A stygarian iron dipped in poison. This one would either kill her opponent or leave him wounded if it sliced his skin. Her other daggers she'd return for later. She knew this place well enough.
Jackie was fast, you can give her that, she was a track athlete in her school. So running at Arcane wasn't tiring, not yet, he wasn't very far, for her to get tired she would have to run a 800 sprinting, or a mile normal pace. She had trained hard enough for that much. Though she would admit she probably couldn't run more than a mile and a half without stopping.

"Hey, wait!" Leon knew something was off. Arcane was a clever and logical person...Erm...monster. He wouldn't storm into a mortal home and kill off a whole family, and leave one girl to survive on her own at that. No, it didn't seem like something his friend would do. He sprang forward, wincing as his leg crumpled beneath him. He couldn't keep up with the two in a pursuit of frenzy. Now that the manticore was taken care of, it was only a matter of time before Kim the Chimera decided to show her face. She would come with backup, he was sure.
"Arcane, get out! Run for it! I'll be right behind you!" He shouted, scrambling to get his sword. He cursed at himself, then swooped forward, transforming into the full form of a lion with a majestic golden mane. With a roar, he pounced forward, reaching Jackie in a few bounds, overtaking her. He skidded to a halt, blocking the mortal's way. "Turn back," He told her with a throaty growl, "I don't want to hurt you."

Jackie laughed. A insane and bitter laugh "You hurt me?" she said. Rolling her eyes her hand running over the handgun. "I'd like to see you try," she snarled. Spinning the sword and she wielded it with skill and strenght sending it slicing through the air and straight at his neck. Beheading was not her style, but right now this fool was keeping her from what she wanted.
Her blue eyes locked on Arcane for a moment. She could shot him. She could take the chance of possibly missing from the distance. But now she was close enough. And she wanted him dead. She wanted him dead more than she wanted herself dead. Which was alot. Jackie was suicidal. But she had been slowly recovering, but now, with her family's killer right there. She felt everything come crashing back, the years of therapy had nearly worked. Sure she was still a bit wacked up, out killing monsters, but given 2 more months that would have stopped to a near none. She would have only targeted the murderous monsters, the ones leaving little girls such as she had once been orphans. But no. Not anymore. Now she wanted them all dead once again. The sight of her nightmare outside a dream was enough to drive her back. To delete everything.

"Okay... Have you ever tried seeing a psychiastrist? Normal humans run away." Leon asked in his lion form, not bothering with her sword towards his neck. The blade bounced off with a horrible metal screech and a shower of sparks. He still remained in front of the girl. "You can see through the Mist. You should know there's a reason it exists. It's to keep you mortals from getting mixed up in our messes." He stood his ground, his lip curling to show his pearly white fangs.

Jackie laughed "Psychiatrist!" the word was spat out. She was insane. She was completely mad. Her head was spinning. How was he here? Did this monster plan this? Was this a plot to get her killed to? End the line?
His mess? she wasn't involved in his mess. She was involved in her own. Her own complicated mess. She had seen him murder her parents, who wouldn't go out and kill the person who ripped her family apart. Who caused her to start training at a young age. The person who made her sit in a white office every morning staring at the blank face of a psychologist who tried to repair her. Who tried to rid her of this depression, insanity, and frustration.
When she caught sight of those white fangs she hissed thrusting her sword at his face to distract him when she in a second pulled out the handgun. And held her finger to the trigger. She wasn't shaking, she was pointing it directly at Arcane, who was behind Leon, so it may have appeared she was pointing it at Leon's shoulder. Her focus clear. Her aim perfect. "Normal mortals don't have their father's killed infront of them at the age of 6. Maybe next time insure you get rid of the whole family. Because I am only going to end what your friend started," she snarled

Maybe this girl was just a slight bit nuts. "Okay, you need to listen." Leon morphed back slowly, his golden mane antimony away until he was a normal human with blonde hair and gray eyes. His hands were raised in a kind of stand-still surrender kind of thing. "Look, okay? I'm not trying to fight you. He isn't either. I was fighting those monsters because I don't kill demigods or mortals for food. You have to understand that we don't want to fight you."

Jackie laughed. She was a complete lunatic. A dangerous, armed, insane girl. That could possibly even pass for drunk by the way everything started to get fuzzy. Her emotions rushing to her face and causing her to look kinda reddish. "I don't want to fight you, no. I want to kill him." she said with a angelically sweet smile. That for a second could make her pass as a possible granddaughter of Aphrodite, but the way her light blue eyes gleamed through the whole look off. They weren't anything angelic like that bright smile. No, they were dangerous, murderous, she wanted death. She wanted it so bad. Her hand on the trigger she watched the two. Unsure of wether she should shot now and be quick and shot the lion at the same time, or wait. Since she wasn't sure if the lion in mortal form was also nearly indestructible.
Then she thought. If she shot Arcane, and if Leon were to open her mouth, she'd possibly kill both. Sure there was the chance she would fail. But maybe. Just maybe she would get the revenge she wanted. She needed.
Little did she know that Arcane was also her new found friend, the one she was rather fond of, Carter. Whom she believed to be son of Nyx. And had ran into after having killed an old monster, what it was she never bothered recalling. She killed enough monsters inbetween she forgot how many. Why bother counting? Jackie smiled, the innocence was sickening. How could an angel hold a gun with perfect aim and have a murderous gleam in her eyes? How could a angel look so innocent and perfect but be prepared to kill you? Insanity. She was insane. Arcane had made her insane. She was closer to maddness than she had been in months. But it partially wasn't her fault. It was the combination of all those emotions running through her.

Arcane dodged the dagger, easily, leaving behind him a pitch black mist. It would definitely be much harder for Jackie to hit him if she had no idea where he was. He wanted to yell at Leon to get out of there but he could only speak in his mortal form and his voice would be too recognizable to Jackie. He wanted nothing but to help her; to find the real murderer. He couldn't do that if she didn't trust him. If she found he was actually a monster - one that looked quite a bit like the killer - she'd go crazy.
Instead, he expanded the mist to surround them all, quietly making his way as best he could to Leon. They needed to get out of here. Of course, Leon would want answers but he wasn't worried about that at the moment. His world was running off course before his eyes and he needed to set things straight. To do that, he'd have to escape.

"It's rare that I find a mortal so bent on killing." Leon muttered, just as a thick black mist rolled over them. They were completely shrouded from each other. He still had his scent, so he picked up Arcane somewhere off to the side. This was perfect cover to get away for now, but it was also a problem. From here, Kim would see. Kim would know Arcane was helping him. He was getting his friend into a world of trouble. The son of the Nemean Lion shook his head, wondering if it would have been better if he had died tonight. He moved backwards silently, nearing his friend. It was time to go. Go back.

Arcane snuck around Jackie, slowly but silently. In his dragon form, he could see through the mist as if it weren't even there. He could pick out every feature of his surroundings. He saw Jackie towards the middle and he made sure to steer clear of her, wanting to get out of here as quickly as possible. He knew what she was capable of as well as how far she would go. He could see her insanity seeping through to the surface. She was out for blood - his blood.
Nearing Leon, he reduced the concentration of mist around the two of them so that visibility improved just enough to see each other, though the mist was still strong around Jackie and around Arcane so that you still could not see his body. No one had ever seen Arcane's body without the mist covering it and they didn't want to. It was a nightmare in solid form. He wouldn't allow anyone to see it. But Leon should be able to see his outlined form enough to know he was there.
Kneeling, he awaited Leon, wanting him to get on his back and he could simply fly away, avoiding conflict. It was either that, or he grab Leon in his mouth by the shirt and fly away, putting faith in already torn mortal clothing.

Jackie snickered watching Leon. And for the second she looked away to see him back up Arcane had disappeared. In anger she pointed the gun at Leon. The fog making it nearly impossible to see anything. But she didn't need to see. The killed at night anyways. She felt fury, she had lost what destroyed her life for mere chit chat with this fool. She felt her gun fire a shoot. Her head rushing as the world spun in her fury. She felt the recoil of the fast but silent fire. Her hand vibrating but she kept it still, the imperial gold bullet was deadly. Fast. But it wasn't certain hit. She knew if she missed his chest she should've hit his shoulder. Which unfortunately wouldn't kill him, just a fatal wound. "Idiot..." she hissed under her breathe not being able to see wasn't a problem. Her vision was getting blurry from the quickness of how much her emotions changed and how sick she was getting. How much she had to drink earlier that day when she was hanging out with some friends and how tired she was all contributed to her lack of control right now. She was dangerous, and a bit reckless as she then listened for the faintest sound to send a bullet at it. Her heart beat slow and calm. This was her job. Killing monsters. This was her dream. Finding that monster that killed her family. This was her training. That she had after the death of her family under the instruction of her guardian a son of Helios, Isaac. This was everything and not only was it might shed never forget. But this will be a night shed certainly change.

Arcane heard the gunshot and winced, ready to be struck by a bullet. He felt nothing, however, and figured she'd missed him. Then, it occurred to the dragon that the gun may not have been aimed at him. He hadn't been paying attention to it or any of his other surroundings. He'd been looking at Leon the moment he heard the gunshot. At that moment, he cringed, bracing himself for the projectile for it never to come. He was unsure of where it may have landed or what it may have made contact with. Quickly, he turned his head to Leon, hoping he was okay.

"Took you long enough." Leon thought to himself, turning to scent Arcane land near him. The mist cleared a good enough of an amount for him to see. Before he could make his way over to his friend, however, the echoing ring of a gunshot cracked into the silent night air. It was too fast and unexpected for him to react. Bullets were supposed to be harmless to monsters, but he did instinctively spring forward. Moving forward just a little wasn't dodging, so of course it did hit him, though it only skimmed his shoulder.
A burst of red hot pain ripped through him, exploding outward from the top of his shoulder where the shot had grazed him. He managed to catch himself as he felt a tiny trickle of warm blood run down his arm. It took all he had not to gasp in surprise. This feeling was either celestial bronze or imperial gold. At least he hadn't gotten hit squarely, or he would've been long on his way to Hades by now. Leon stumbled forward, gritting his teeth and managing to hop onto Arcane. "Go!" He wanted to yell at him, but if he did, it would give away their position to Jackie, and he suspected she had more of those bullets. Those were formidable weapons to monsters. She was the most effective assassin, though ironically mortal, that he had ever met. He would memorize her scent. He had to be wary of her.

Jackie didn’t heard anything. And in her fury realized she wouldn’t have such a problem if she hadn’t forgotten her night glasses in her old room with Isaac. A gift from Isaac that now had some use. She wanted to shoot in every direction and prey it hit one of the two or both. But that would be a waste of bullets, which were quite difficult to come by. Though she knew someone who sold them to her and never seemed out of stock. But the high prices made it obvious it was hard to come by. Which was why she was one of the only people to own one, since a gold sword lasted longer and in a sense was cheapeer than a couple bullets. But then again she was also one of the most dangerous assasins, often being called for her services. In her eyes she was doing good. Taking the life of those who roam the world in a sense immortal and killing those who would never return. She viewed her work as a good. And she enjoyed it. Though in a year she wouldn’t know what to do to find a publc job. Not that she needed one. But people would question a strangely rich girl just out of hgh school, in college, and gaining money as if she worked when she did not. So her plan was possibly going into the CIA, or FBI, maybe even a cop. But she wouldn’t care what she did. Her public job would never be something she would care for if this insanity continued. Which is what her adoptive father is worried about. He didn’t know she was an assassin, but he knew whatever she did at night when she snuck out was a priority to thinking ahead to college, to her future.
