It was warm and quiet, perfect for Tina. She slept soundly and quietly, her face peaceful. She was burrowed under a warm blanket, dreaming of her father. Why was she so tired again? She couldn't remember. Maybe it was the bullies again. They always made her feel so weak and vulnerable. That was all a bad dream now, she was safe at home.
Tina opened her sky blue eyes, finding herself staring at a wooden ceiling of a cabin dumbfoundedly. She almost called out for her father. Then the memories flooded back and clouded her mind, making her shudder. The monsters that had attacked camp had scared her out of her wits. She didn't want this life. But if she didn't want this life, she would have been dead already instead of fighting back against the monsters, correct? Oh, she hated this, hated it! Tear began to form at the edge of her eyes.

After she left the infirmary, her eyes began to wander. Cascade analyzed the cabins down to every miniscule detail she could muster. Glancing at her surroundings, she saw that Julien was nowhere to be seen. Could she have lost her way? She couldn't have been looking around for that long...
Sitting on the dew-covered grass, Cascade took out her sketchbook and pencils, beginning to draw her surroundings and the intricate details that her eyes had seen. Her pencil strokes were short and quick, the rough sketch quickly turning into a beautiful drawing of the cabin in front of her. Curiously, she stood up and slowly made her way to the cabin, putting her pad and pencils away for the time being. Putting the hand on the doorknob, she braced for impact.
But nothing came. Inside the cabin was a small girl about the same age as Cascade. The girl looked frazzled, as if she'd just woken up. Staring at the girl with her brutally cold eyes, Cascade scanned her for any danger. It didn't appear the girl was a threat, especially because it was Cascade infiltrating her cabin.

Tina nearly jumped at the sound of approaching footsteps. She sat up, staring at the door with wide and frightened eyes. She hoped it was Julien returning. It wasn't. A girl almost as young as her opened the door. Startled by her prescence, she wondered what exactly she needed. Tilting her head slightly to the side, Tina couldn't help but stare. This girl seemed a bit unfriendly with her cold blue eyes. Maybeshe had a rough time.
"H-hello." Tina began, "Um...Is there something you need?" She was a bit confused as to why a random camper she didn't recognize intruded. Was she a new sibling? Maybe not, she didn't look like a Demeter kid.

Cascade shifted from foot to foot, tilting her head in response as a friendly form of imitation. Julien hadn't taken her to this cabin, perchance because inside there was a girl at rest. Stepping back, she bowed politely. Her mother had always said that it was a custom to be polite. Unsure of what to do, Cascade simply stared at the girl. "Um. Hello. I just arrived here and...wanted to see what this cabin was like."
Seeing as the girl bore a surprised expression, she cleared her throat. "Which cabin is this?" Already, Cascade had forgotten which cabin she was standing in; she'd been busy studying the texture of the walls and such, taking a mental picture of her surroundings so she could draw later.

Tina leaned forward on the bed, fascinated by the girl before her. She was young and confident, nothing like she could ever be. She wondered who she was. "Um, h-haha what a joke, greetings<3 Matt, I'm Tina Skye, daughter of Demeter...and this is the Demeter cabin." She blushed realizing she sounded a bit stupid saying the last line.
"What cabin are you from?" Tina asked her shyly. She usually hated carrying conversation, but she was interesting in someone her age. She had no good friends in the camp.

She saw that the shy girl looked up to her inalienable confidence. It wasn't real, but it was convincing. Unsure of what to say, Cascade shifted from foot to foot once more, biting her lip. "I'm a new camper." Tina nodded as if she understood, and seemed to shrink back in size even more. Cascade began to wonder if she was intimidating Tina, and tried to soften her stare. However, without experience, it seemed her expression did not change one bit.
Tilting her head, Cascade looked at Tina with her piercing blue eyes, as if beckoning the girl to move on with the conversation. There was nothing to say-the mental link seemed to speak for it all.

Tina tried not to back off. She wanted to know more about her, but she handy really answered her question. "Oh, I'm a bit new too." Her voice was quiet, and came out in a squeak. She tried to raise her voice a little more this time. She repeated the question. "Um...what's your name? What cabin are you from?"

"I'm Cascade, and I do not have a cabin. Pleased to be acquainted with you, though." The girl seemed to have tremors of nervousness passing through, small quakes of trembling erupting as she appeared to try to keep talking calmly. Tina spoke louder, and Cascade felt that there was some confidence, but something had happened to the girl.
Cascade shifted from foot to foot. She was to tell Chiron soon of her suspicion, so why not tell Tina? "I hope....we can be friends." Cascade muttered, instead of what she was going to say. There was no point in telling Tina.

Tina broke into a little smile. It had been really long since she had heard that line. Her best friend who had always protected her had said that. She had always relied on the other girl. Now, she missed her so much. Cascade kind of reminded her of her. The daughter of Demeter hopped off her bed, looking over shyly at the other girl. Her hair was indeed a mess. "I would...very much like to be...friends." She paused a little in her sentence, still hesitating and timid.

Friends? It had long been since someone had OFFERED to be her friend. Well, let's just say it'd never happened before. People generally scorned her from public. Now, this girl, who had a sort of natural beauty, was asking to be her friend. Cascade wasn't sure if she should accept the girl's invitation, though. Nobody had been particularly trustworthy, Julien being a first. However, something about Tina intrigued Cascade, and she felt as if there was a chance Tina and her could become rather close. "Um...sure..." Cascade felt her expression slacken, but it didn't appear to be happy. She had never smiled before, and a voice in her head told her to beware of others.
