Every book has a first chapter, right? Well.. this would be the prologue. Vi still didn't know anyone here. Disregarding the girl she pissed off and the tour guide that showed her around, she knew no one! Not even her cabin-mates! Julien had told her about.. Summer? But about no one else. Were they the only two in the Hades cabin? No.. there had to be more. But she could never be sure.
The girl was sitting in the middle of the floor, reading some book about Greek myths. I wonder why! Sure, she had known she was a demigod since she was ten and living with her mother, but not much about the gods themselves. In her past time, she liked to read on them. It was starting to get a bit late, and it was her first day. She hadn't met her siblings. ( That sounded weird to her, considering the fact that she was an only child. )
With a long sigh, she snapped her fingers and a low roar of green hellfire erupted from the tip of her fingers. Her arm reached to grab a jar and she set the fire inside, then set it beside her so she could read without any lights on.. other than the illuminating light from the Greek fire. The only thing that could make her day would be meeting someone that.. "understands" her.

Seemingly created by the darkness and shadows, Summer stumbled out of the corner of the cabin. Normally, she would have had a more graceful landing, but she was too shaken up to think about anything like that. Shade, the only family she had, had turned evil and attacked their camp, working for their flippin' father. So she was officially alone now. The daughter of Hades had come back from the archery range, shooting arrows at targets while imagining Hades' face instead of the red-and-white circles. Of course, she lacked talent with a bow and arrow, but that didn't stop her from trying.
For the first time in years, Summer had been worried and cared for someone, and what did they do? They go and join the evil side, along with their father! And who knows why Hades declared war against the camp? Hmmph. Maybe she would be better off wandering the streets of the Mortal World again.
Maybe she... Summer froze, cutting herself off in mid-thought, and her dark eyes flickered to where green flames blazed in a jar, to the person sitting on the floor. Huh... Her eyes softened a bit at the sight of the girl. "You are a child of Hades?" Of course she was, the fact evident from the jar. She even looked like a child of Hades, with her pale skin and dark hair, not that Summer usually stereotyped people. Summer herself probably looked like a washed-out version of a child of Apollo. Well, what do you know? A new sibling.

The girl snapped her eyes from the book up to Summer. And you are? She asked, putting her book down and standing up. Err.. sorry- I'm Victoria.. call me Vi. Her nickname was pronounced like "v", not "veh" like at the beginning of her name.
Going back to the fact that she wasn't the nicest person, the girl she egged at was Nike. Nike got mad at her and stormed away. But if she had a sibling, or two, wouldn't they understand her? Possibly? The girl blinked her dark colored eyes and smiled warmly at the person, who truthfully, she didn't know was Summer. Maybe someone to check on me? She thought, studying the girl in front of her.

"I'm Summer Anderson, also a daughter of Hades. Perhaps you've heard of me?" Summer wasn't sure how long Vi had been around camp, or if anyone had bothered to inform her of her cabin mates. Summer wasn't that well-known either, and about a quarter of those who did know her... well, she didn't get along well with them, let's say that. Summer scowled at the thought of Silver, the cold and cruel-well, to her- daughter of Zeus.
Summer usually would have been pale white, stammering, and trying to shrink away from a new camper, but she figured someone sharing the same blood as her would be easier to get along with. Even though she'd only known Shade for a few days, that hadn't stopped her from missing him when he went on the quest, only to never return as his regular self again. Heck, when he attacked the camp, that had probably been his regular self. He had been a threat to the camp, and I didn't help attack him... She closed her eyes tight for a brief moment, then blinked them open again, ridding her mind of the battle. They focused again, dark and green, on Vi.

The girl blinked. Oh, yes. Julien told me that you lived here, too. She smiled, leaning back on her bare feet. The troubled look on her half-sister's face got her suspicious. Something wrong? She sat back on the mattress of the bunk and arched a brow. Her toes curled and so did her fingers, as she stretched sorely. She had walked, shadow walked, across some of the country. How independent was she!
But it wasn't like she was forced to go by herself. Well.. the only person that forced Vi to leave was herself. And frankly, she was glad that she left. If must've been a relief for her mother.

“N-no,” Summer responded, startled Vi had asked. Most other people, while talking to Summer, just kept silent, their eyes flickering around, hoping she would end their conversation soon. Summer didn’t mind; she wasn’t a social person anyways.
She cleared her throat, and repeated, “No, nothing’s wrong,” in a more confident and brisk voice. Her eyes silently begged Vi not to push on deeper, to drop the subject. She really didn’t want to talk about it. But… Maybe it would be easier, since he was Vi’s half-brother too. Didn’t that give her a right to know?

Sorry, I'm doing an art project for school. x33 Vi blinked, looking into her face. Well, you can can tell me when you're ready. Her smile got tight. So, how long've you been at Camp? She yawned again, changing the subject as implied. Vi had been here less than a day, so that really didn't count for anything. How many beads do you have? She asked, anxious to know how much longer Summer had been there than her.

Hmph. This new sibling was quite…aggressive in a way, if Summer did think so herself. Still, she wearily nodded, thanking Vi silently. She would, but not anytime soon, that was for sure. Until she had time to think it out.
“Oh, I haven’t been here for very long either. Only for a few months.” Her thoughts drifted back to her arrival, and she couldn’t help but smile. Now thinking back, her entrance to the camp was laughable. Summer had been chased through the entrance by a monster, and then fainted.

The girl blinked. Well. She wasn't that new compared to the girl. Vi thought she would have been there for at least a year or two. Guess not, the new camper thought. Well, as you know, I've been here for about a day.. and I came here on my own. Her shoulders shrugged apprehensively. It would've really sucked if I was a child of anyone else other than Hades.. I shadow walked here. Her point was really at the end, kind of thankful of her father. But at other times, she wasn't.
On the inside, however, she was glad that she had a sister. Someone to relate to, if you get my drift. Vi needed someone like that in her life.

Summer slightly raised an eyebrow. "You mean shadow-traveling? I think that's the technical term for it, but I'm not sure." She hoped it was, or she would've looked pretty stupid in front of her new half-sister.
"Where did you stay before you arrived at camp?" Summer questioned, then regretted it. Questions like that usually led to something personal, and if you had a father like Hades, 'something personal' was something bad, and something bad led to awkwardness and anger.

She nodded. Yeah, whatever it's called. She shrugged. Then the question hit her. Talking about her near past didn't bother her. She never really knew why it was painful for some people to bring it up. I mean, your past will always be there and you can't take it back. Why be ashamed or afraid? Embrace it while you can, and re-live the times that you've earned, she thought.
I was with my mom. And my step-dad. She paused for a moment to word her sentences properly. I always thought he was my real dad. I have always called him dad. When I was ten, my mom told me the truth about him not being my dad and.. well, Hades. I'm grateful about her telling all at one time and not leaving me on a cliff, you know? Things would've gone worse if she waited. The girl paused for a moment to catch her breath. Do you have a life story? She shot back, thinking that it was equally fair for her to ask since she did.

Summer suppressed a smile, since it shouldn’t be funny, but Vi’s aura seemed to be arrogant and improper to her, what with the ‘whatever’ and ‘sucked’. A twinge of admiration tugged in her chest for her new half-sister, that she was independent and could think for herself.
She was partially surprised Vi decided to share her history with someone she barely knew. “Do you have a life story?” Ah, crap. Summer should’ve seen it coming. It was clever of Vi, though, since in a way, Summer owed her in information, leaving her no choice if she wanted to keep her respect. “I had no father, and I didn’t ask. The monsters started coming when I was 7.” Summer hesitated a while, struggling to remember the right facts. “I was always sent to boarding schools, and always expelled. When I was 14, my mom told me who…who I was, and I finally attended a public school. I made friends…” She couldn’t exactly count them as friends, since they had pretended to be a demigod like her, won her trust, then turned out to be a monster and attacked her. Summer swallowed hard, continuing, “Then, one day, my friend, a satyr, was killed. The same day, I came home, and my mother was dead, lying on the floor, covered in blood.”
Flashes of the memory pierced her head, and she squeezed her eyes tight, but it kept playing behind her eyes. When she blinked her eyes open again, they were misty, swimming with thoughts and memories. “The monsters came again, so I ran, as fast as I could, towards camp. I’d just made it when I stumbled through the entrance, and fainted.” Now, it didn’t seem so funny.

Terry had never gotten around to drop by and say haha what a joke, greetings<3 Matt to Summer ever since he returned from the quest. He was heading there now, hands stuck in his pockets. He was tall, with blonde hair streaked with darker stands, as if it were going through a transition to become dirty blonde. It never finished the change, though. His light blue eyes were the color of the open sky, and it suited the son of Hermes with his carefree attitude. His permanent sly smile was still there, it had just been dulled down a considerable bit. Staying positive was a good thing, but some of the problems circulating around camp didn't give him the chance.
Honestly, Terry felt guilty for not being able to stop Shade. When he had heard about the attack on camp, he had been stunned. Whatever was going on, it wasn't good. The gods were messing around again. Shade might never come back. He remembered when they had first been seen off at the before the quest. They had both promised Summer they would return. Oh, Shade returned, alright. Just...in a different way. He arrived at the cabin, knocking on the door gently.

The new girl blinked and dazed off for a moment, contemplating what the girl was saying to her. In the painful parts of the story, her face softened, more than usual, and she she got to feel some kind of pity for the girl. Her sister, in retrospect. Hey- look.. I didn't mean for you to slip up anything painful.. I mean- I somewhat understand.. She reached out and hesitated to lightly touch her on the shoulder to show that she actually meant what she said, and she wasn't just saying it to.. Well.. Say it. If it helps any, I- She was cut off by the knock of someone at the door. She took her hand away and started to pop her knuckles, as always. Don't worry, I'll get it.
The new, "happy" camper trotted over to the door and hesitated a moment before actually putting her hand on the knob and twisting it. She opened it to see a handsome, rather tall, individual. If you're looking for a ray of pretty sunshine, you're at the wrong place. Welcome to the Hades cabin. Vi smirked at her own comment then looked back at Terry. Looking for someone who is not me? ... Who I am assuming would be Summer. She figured out the answer to her question quickly, with the help of her over thinking, which is not always a bad thing.

Terry was waiting patiently at the door. He could have waited for an hour and he wouldn't have minded. He was staring at a patch of sunny grass out of boredom when the door opened, causing him to almost jump. To his surprise, Summer wasn't standing aat the doorway, it was a new girl. Chiron always kept the cabin leaders updated so they would know to say haha what a joke, greetings<3 Matt. He smiled at the girl, taking her in with his bright blue eyes.
At her amusing Comment, Terry replied, "Well, the Hades cabin still has light in its own way." Then, politely, he shrugged, "Yeah, I was looking for Summer. May I come in?"
