Julien summoned a wall of vines to guard him from the flame as best they could, though they quickly caught fire. At least this fire was natural and not the hellfire Shade controlled. "Yes you do," he said, still cold and bitter toward the son of Hades. "You used to have a place here. Now, you have the guts to attack it - attack us? We were your friends. You left on that quest along with five others. You could have saved her. No, now you are here trying to murder innocent little girls." Forcing a vine to sprout in the eye of the inferno - the area where Shade was - he willed it to circle around the boy, forming a small cylinder with an open top. "What happened to you? When I first got here, I heard all these great things about the questers - all of them. Kayden Coyne being brave and Jasper being kind. You were mentioned possibly the most. You were always praised for being nice to everyone and willing to help. So many people looked up to you, here. Now look at you."

Shade glared at Julien, but he couldn't help but drink in his words. Who was he? Who had he been? And why did he never remember any of it. "No..." He managed to say, and Hades has sensed his doubt, reinforcing the artificial memories into his mind. They were so real, and he believed that was the way it was. "no, i was always raised in the Underworld. Dark is my friend, and alecto would take me to training every day. I was running an errand and bumped into the questers. They tried to kill me..and...I don't remember!" In frustration, his flame winked out for just a moment. shade had lost his concentration. Kayden and Jasper. The leader and his friend. Kayden was dead, right? Wait, how did he know that? He looked at Julien through the vined cage, gritting his teeth. "Kind? That's definately not me." He held his hands in front of him, sword dissapating. A flame began to form in front of him as he prepared to shoot it through.

(Time for Julien to die!)
Julien paid no attention to the fire, but instead had begun to lose his rage and was thinking about how Shade could lose his memory. The vines were already burning but he was far back enough to where the flame didn't harm him and the vines were thick and moist so they burned, slowly. Had Hades somehow been responsible for this? After all, that was who he seemed to be working for. Perhaps he would tell the cabin leaders his suspicion once he was done, here.

"Ugh..." Shade couldn't control the heat anymore, and he was sure it would be enough to shoot through the vines. Little did he know, it would do more than go through the vines. He released the column of fire, eyes widening at the sudden heat. Too much? but it was too loud and a loud crackle of angry searing black fire burst out in a roar, penetrating the vines and heading towards Julien.

Julien saw it coming but it was too late. He let out a shout, dodging to the side. The fire hit his left side with such force it spun him around into the air. He was dead before he hit the ground. The heat had been too much and his blood had begun to boil. The inside of him cooled rather quickly, though, his blood and muscle returning to their usual temperature, or near it, at least. But his skin was still hot to the touch. He lie there, motionless and red from his burns, without a pulse. His plants withered and died as grass began to grow, wrapping around him.
There he lay, Julien Roux, son of Demeter. His eyes were calm for in his last moment, he realized what was about to happen and there being no escape from it. Maybe he even had some drachma in his pants or coat that he'd forgotten about that he could pay Charon - the ferryman - in order to be taken to have his soul judged and where Hades would decide whether he would be sent to Asphodel or the Isle of the Blest or, perhaps out of spite for attacking his son, the Fields of Punishment.
Either way, he was sure he'd be able to at least catch a glimpse at Lauren one last time. Perhaps they would laugh, together, in the Underworld. Maybe they'd keep each other company. Maybe they'd even become true friends. His blonde dye in his hair had been burned out from the heat - as he'd bought the cheap stuff last time as it was all he could afford - and his hair returned to it's natural black shade. He looked goth, there, with the dark eyes, dark, long hair, and calm yet angry face. Maybe someone would find him. Maybe they wouldn't. Only the cruel fates would know.
(Exit: Julien, stage left! xD)

"I..." Shade fell to his knees, energy leaving him far faster than he anticipated. He coughed, feeling drained and completely exhausted. He had killed him, he realized, and for some reason, instead of being nonchalant like he usually was, he was horrified. He was so scared of himself for the first time that he realized, he wasn't supposed to be doing this. he was definately going to talk to Hades about Julien. Isle of Blest, was it? His dying spirit was one he could read for his last wish. It was to see that girl.

Tina had woken up in the middle of the fight, when Shade had been summoning his fire. She let out a scream as it was released, penetrating the vines. "NOO!!" the little girl was on her feet, running towards her dead brother. Tears stung at her eyes. Please be alive, please be alive... Her praying was useless. Julien's eyes were glassy, empty. Because of me...
Tina's hands were shaking as she sobbed, for the first time seeing someone important to her die in front of her eyes. "Julien...Julien..." It was because of me...

Shade shifted to sit in the grass and watch the little girl cry. He didn't know what he was supposed to say. He had killed her brother, and there was nothing he could do about it. One small idea touched his mind, and he stood up, standing next to Tina.
"Hey." She seemed mute, and was still sobbing. Shade stared down at the girl, hazel eyes guilty. He would take her, he guessed, to the Underworld. As a prisoner, but really, he would show her her brother again. He was going to make sure she knew he was going to the Isles of Blest.

Cascade found herself wandering toward the direction of a column of fire that had been shot upward, sort of like a flare. She saw Tina, a stranger, and Julien-however, Julien was on the ground, burnt and unmoving. Scrambling toward the unconscious carcass, Cascade felt for a pulse. Julien's wrist was cold. Bitterness gnawed at her heart as it sank, knowing he was dead. Whirling around to face the stranger, her blue eyes shone with a defiant energy, blinking in an accusing way. "Did you do this...to Julien?" Her tone was dangerous, layered with mystery. It wasn't often that she got a friend, but somehow, everyone close to her would sooner or later end up dead. Trembling with rage, she realized that if she'd only come earlier, her ability to manipulate water could have come in handy to save Julien's life. All she could hope now was that Tina didn't blame her for being late, and that Julien would be safe in the Underworld.

Shade picked up the unmoving Tina, who was frozen in shock. He turned and was about to leave when a voice stopped him. He turned to see a small girl a little older than the daughter of Demeter that he held. She must have been Julien's friend. He gave her a small, pitying smile with a hint of apology. He didn't expect her to forgive him, though. "Yes, I did." He replied quiety. Then he was suddenly gone, swallowed and replaced by the darkness of a shadow, along with Tina.

Cascade froze, unmoving, just watching as the stranger faded away to nothing, stealing away the last friend she had at this camp. She stood there for several moments before realizing her cowardliness was the cause of her only living friend's disappearance. Her mind scrambled to figure out who the stranger was. Still new to camp, no one had told her anything about strange people coming to burn the place up.
