Tina walked around forlornly through the forest. She kicked a stray rock away from her. She was feeling a bit frustrated as well as depressed, seeing her older brother like that. It made her feel useless. She turned to a tree, feeling the dryad watching her. She bit her lip, and closed her eyes just to think.
This feeling. It was like...home.
Tina could feel the plants around her. Then she began to dance. It was light as first, then grew more graceful with larger swoops of movement. With a wave of her arm, the grass flew up, growing taller than her, and danced around in a tangled netting, swaying with her every movement. This was her forest. She could sense the peace and unity. She knew everything was in order.
Suddenly, she flinched, the plants stopping around her. They had whispered in her ear. Someone was hiding in here that didn't belong. Tina began to shiver, and turned around. Behind those bushes, someone was there. She moved her hand, and the bush bent away, revealing a dark haired boy taking a nap. When he opened his hazel eyes, she recognized him instantly as the boy who had attacked the camp last time. She let out a scream, loud enough to attract anyone in the general area.

Shade had rested in camp for the night, spying and observing. Looked like the quest had ended badly with a death. It concerned him not. He heard a rustle, and opened his eyes. A little girl was staring at him, to his surprise. The son of Hades held her surprised gaze with one of his own. His hazel eyes narrowed for a moment. She had seen him. That would just not do. He was gone from his spot under the tree in a moment through shadow travel.
Shade landed behind Tina in her shadow, hands lighting up in a flame. He had draped his arm around her neck in just a moment, flame right next to her face. "Shhh, you're loud, you know." His voice was quiet and calm. It was lazy, as if he could just kill her now and be done with it.

Tina was about to run and keep screaming when she felt his prescence behind him. She hadn't brought her sword, and the grass around her was burned down before she could react. She was frozen, unable to move. His arm was around her neck, and she noticed that he smelled like pine, as if he had been living in the woods for a long time now. Had he actually been here the whole time? She began to shake out of fear. She was across he would feel her shivering, which only made her tremble more. The black flame was so close, and she could feel the heat right next to her face.
Had no one heard her? Tina was desperate, she needed help. She wanted someone to come. One tear slid out, not being able to control her fear anymore. She was afraid, so afraid.

Julien had been at the edge of the forest, trying to come to terms with Lauren's death and figure out how to apologize to Kat after he had yelled at her like he did. Suddenly, he heard a familiar scream. Tina... he thought, immediately breaking out into a run. Luckily, she hadn't been too far into the forest and Julien had found her with the son of Hades - Shade. "Let go of her," he commanded in a low, menacing voice. Lauren was dead, he wasn't about to let the same happen to his little sister. A vine began to sprout behind him, growing and thickening. He didn't even realize it was there, he was controlling it subconsciously. "Get away from her and get out of this camp."

Shade heard running footsteps, tsk, her scream had attracted attention after all. This little girl was pathetic, shivering and looking like she was going to faint. "I told you to be quiet...didn't I?" He asked Tina when Julien appeared. He tilted his head at the sight of the angry son of Demeter, and eyes the vine with a bored expression. "Son of Demeter...are you threatening me? A person who loves plants shouldn't play with fire."
The vine growing out behind him burst into a black flame, and his hazel eyes seemed to glow in a deadly light. His father had given him so many power-ups, that he was far stronger now. He could use his powers at full potential now. "So this is your sister, isn't it? Tell me, what are you going to do if I don't let her go...What if I, instead, accidentally burned her while you tried to attack me?" He moved his flaming hand a little closer to Tina's cheek, watching Julien with his dead eyes.

"Then I'll be sure yo make your death slow and painful," Julien replied, walking a few steps closer as another vine began to grow from behind him, fueled by his rage. Sure, that sounds like a strange source of power for the son of nature-loving Demeter, but it worked and it wasn't something to mess around with. "Get away from her, NOW!" he added the last part as a yelling command. At that moment, the vine shot out, thick as an elephant's trunk and longer than a tree is high, with seemingly no end. It went for Shade's throat, intent on strangling him until his fires flickered out. As you can tell, when Julien is angry he isn't much good in a hostage situation.

"Julien!" Tina squeaked, trying to stop her tears and just show that she wasn't going to cry because of this. She didn't want him to get hurt. He had to get away. She turned to see a vine grow out of the ground, and her eyes widened. He had control over his powers now! She was surprised by it, but realized it came out of his anger right now. Oh, please don't fight, please don't fight. Don't get hurt...
Then Julien summoned another vine, aiming it at Shade. She closed her eyes.

Shade gave him a devious grin. "Death? I like your determination. Fine then, I'll be your opponent." He whacked Tina aside, out of the way. "You're a distraction." The son of Hades burned the vine into a crisp. His sword fizzed to life, and he grabbed the hilt. He sprang forward and sent a slash at Julien. "Where's your weapon, boy? You didn't come here to challenge me without one, did you?"

Tina was about to turn around and cling onto Shade to stop him from attacking her brother, but a swing from his arm sent her flying away. She landed a few feet away with a small cry of pain. Her vision was dizzy before it just went black

Julien drew his knife at the last possible second, blocking the blade with his own. "I've already lost a friend; I'm not about to lose a sister," he said as another vine sprouted out and attacked Shade from behind, this time aiming for his leg to pull him back. "Leave."

(So, is Julien really going to die?)
"Leave?" shade almost laughed, not noticing the vine for a moment. "I lost a friend also. I didn't even know he was my friend to begin with. I'm figuring things out. I'm here to learn about who I was, and you and your sister are ruining it." While he was talking, the vine wrapped around his ankle, catching his attention. His left short sword fizzed to life, and he jumped backwards, throwing it straight at Julien's face with precision, not even bothering about being merciful. He touched rolled backwards, touching the vine at his foot and turning it to ashes in a matter of seconds.

(Yeah, I got sick of him... so, in this thread, hopefully, you'll kill him! I was thinking maybe you could burn him? Like, not catch him compltely on fire but burn him enough to kill him.)
"You mean traitors have friends?" Julien asked, coldly, as he ducked, the sword going over his head as the grass around them grew to be taller than him. "The more you burn my plants, the more fertile the ground gets and the easier it is to make new ones," he said, knowing a bit about plant biology, though not enough to teach it or anything. "Tell me, what happens to the son of Hades when he dies? Does daddy take pity on you?"

Shade blinked at his comment, "See, that's what I don't get. Everyone says I'm a traitor. Who exactly did I betray? I don't remember coming to a run down place like this to stay." He glared coldly at Julien.
He once again set fire to the grass. "Than I'll just keep burning no matter how many plants you send at me. It's a test of will, isn't it?" He ignored the comment about his father, narrowing his eyes. He would never ask his father for a favor. Honestly, he kind of hated him, it was just that he was weaker, and he had really no choice but to obey his orders. There was a social status in this world, and the pawns were born to bow to their masters.

Julien was taken by surprise, a little, by Shade's comment. He doesn't remember? he thought, though his anger came rushing back a moment later. "How could you forget? You had friends here - a sister. Now, you're claiming you can't remember?" He was disgusted with Shade, wanting to send him to the Underworld never to return.
When the grass burned, he instead targeted the trees, forcing their branches to grow and curve, their sights set on the son of Hades, the source of the hated fire. "I suppose it is," he grinned. The fire was hot but he ignored it, knowing he'd been in hotter environments.

Shade made a frustrated expression as if he was hesitating, but the moment was gone when julien attacked him again. "I don't know, okay!" A flaming inferno erupted around him, black in color and searing hot. his temper flared in the form of his power. "What did I forget? How did I forget? How do I know? I don't have a sister, I don't have friends here, and most of all..." He stopped, the thought still weighing heavily on his mind. He felt...guilty, but he couldn't place the reason why, and he hated it. "Why do I feel, that I could've been there to stop that girl's death?" He narrowed his eyes, the branches going up in angry flames. "I don't even know her!"
