Nick wrapped her arm around Renate with a smile "It's too bad Zeke is too weak to save you, maybe I can keep you as a ghost. I like your company," even if it's controling her. He laughed. Acting like Zeke wasn't there. It was Nick's thing, to act, to torment, to be a warm heart in the outside but as cold as dry ice in the inside. His ghostly gray eyes dark and reflecting amusement.
Nick Salvador had the ability to control ghosts, and to become quite close to one. But the problem was making a live subject into a ghost without killing her did use up alot of energy, the rest of which he was using to stay semi transparent so that things couldn't kill him. Clever, maybe. But he was sending his control over Renate was slipping a slight degree. She would beable to move a little, maybe just her eyes, but the rest he still controlled. For now.

Keep me as a ghost and I swear I'll haunt you... she thought angrily. Though no sign showed her thoughts. Everything was under Nick's control. This was his game and quite cruel too. Then she felt something loosen her eyes flashing as she sent Zeke a 'freeze him and give him frost bite for me now so when I get back I can slaughter him' look.

Zeke was, well, confused. He didn't know what he was supposed to do. He cared about Renate but she seemed to be ignoring him completely, despite seeming interested in him for the past few weeks. Or, again, was Zeke just imagining all that? He was far too distressed, unfortunately, to pay attention and missed Renate's look. However, he still sent a small shard of ice at Nick as a warning, knowing it would pass through him with minimal damage. "Let her go," he said, trying to make himself sound as focused and sane as he could.

Nick smiled at Zeke "Let her go?" his smile took a sickening turn, he was feeling his control over Renate slip to the point she could probably talk now. So he had to act fast "I guess it is time for her ghost to move on," he told Zeke. Renate's ghost flickering at Nick tried to make her fade out easily, but seeing he couldn't keep her dead and himself transparent forever it was a bit choppy.

Zeke practically growled, snapping back to his senses, momentarily, as Renate's ghostly form faded. "Tell, me Nick," he said, voice dripping with pure loathing toward this boy. "I know ice can pass through you without killing you, obviously... but does it hurt?" At that moment, a pillar of ice erupted from under Nick, jutting from the ground. It did not move, but simply stayed in the same place - for now. Zeke could think of plenty of ways to make Nick feel true pain. Agony, suffering, despair - all brought on by the relentless frost of the dead of winter. Renate was in danger and he had to do something about it. He wasn't about to let his feelings get in the way. He had to focus on the fact a person was in danger, not that it was Renate. Not that it was Nick putting her in danger. She needed help and that was that. He had to ignore all else.

Renate felt her voice come back. And in a instant she tried to tell only to find her voice soft as she began fading "Nick stop! This isn't funny! I'll kill you for this." she growled. Which sounded more like a weak threat as she was fading once again. But this time fading was strange. Blinding as she swapped between the ground above abd the Underworld as Nick attempted to make her fade.

Nick laughed at the both of them "I would watch my tongue. Because I might just kill you" his voice a snarl directed at Renate with pure loathe that came out of his hatred for life. He then turned to Zeke "Why should I?" his eyes a dangerous glint.

(This whole thread is sloppy for me, looking back. I mean, it started out, fine, but once it got to Renate dying, it just collapsed. I'm sorry!)
Zeke melted the ice, seeing it not work. He sighed, out of options. His only reassurance was that Renate wasn't fully under his control - a sign his power was slipping. This also meant, unfortunately, that Nick may end up killing the daughter of Ares. Zeke was completely unsure of what to do and looked to Renate, helplessness shone in his eyes. It was a rather unusual look for the usually bitter and ruthless son of Boreas but it was all he felt. It didn't matter how powerful he was at the moment because Nick was better. There was just no answer to it or, at least, none he could find.

(I have to agree entirely. I can't even remember how Renate was supposed to get her life back 0.o Bleh I think we should start wrapping it up though cause Nick won't stay until he passed out. Since Zeke will prob kill him then)
Nick smiled at Zeke, Renate returning once more, but not due to Nick but rather the fact his powers were getting weaker. The ghost though instead of returning as a ghost just returned inside her. Color ever so slowly returning "It seems like the Korean girl melted the ice in poor Zeke's heart," Nick laughed. Though it wasn't a kind one, more sick, cruel. Though in this camp their are many cold and mean campers, none were truly...evil. And cruel to the point they'd nearly kill someone for their amusement.

(ehh I was just going with whatever you were doing Matt :3)
Renate felt herself start fading. Was this what dying was like? she wondered as the world became darker. Shooting a quick glance at Zeke. Nick had caused this...maybe next time she shouldn't be so trusting... But slowly as the light faded out the darkness came in, and the black turned to gray as she slowly started opening her eyes, coughing slightly. The color returning slowly as she opened her eyes and looked around a bit. Her head feeling heavy.

Zeke nearly collapsed right there, believing Renate to be dead, no longer caring about Nick's taunting. Then, he heard a sound from behind him. It was only a cough but he knew where it had come from. Turning around, he ran to the daughter of Ares, kneeling beside her. The air around him was no longer cold, as it usually was, as he brushed some hair out of her face. "Renate?" he asked, ashamed that he had not stopped Nick. She would probably be disappointed with him and he just wouldn't be able to stand it. At least she was safe, though. That was all that really mattered.

Nick sighed knowing the game was up. And using his last bit of energy he turned himself completely transparent, to return to the minor gods cabin without Zeke and collapse on his bunk feeling tired from the use of too much of his powers at once. His ghostly gray eyes on the ceiling. Well at least now he can keep an enemy close by, a couple beds away to be precise.

Renate's eyes opened. Zeke's blurring figure making her close them again as she shifted her body feeling heavy and strange. The same feeling she had when she feel asleep for two days out of exhaustion. Her vision focusing again she tried to smile, though her head hurt a bit. Maybe a side effect from having your ghost ripped out of you. "Hey Zeke..." she said her voice crackin slightly.

Letting out a sigh of relief, Zeke extended an arm, offering Renate help to her feet, before he could really think. Maybe she needed to lay there for a moment to regain a little of her strength before she could stand. Or maybe she just didn't want to stand, yet. Feeling a bit confused as to whether or not he should have offered a hand, he nearly withdrew it. Instead, he kept it where it was, his face kind. "I'm sorry..." he whispered, apologetically. He'd let Nick go too far. Now, Renate was paying the price. She'd nearly died and he would never forgive himself for it.
