Garret had everything set up. The lantern sitting lightly on the ground as he carefully began his descend up the vine wall outside the Girl's minor god window. He lightly tapped on the glass not wanting to awake Pyre and have him start a storm and fall the while way down. Garret felt his heart beat as he searched through the curtains for Max's sleeping figure. Holding onto the ledge and trying to balance he slowly cracked the old window open and as silent as possible whistled softly so Max could hear him.
He could make out the shadow of the white rise he gave her earlier that night with a note telling her to be ready around his time. He felt his muscles tense as he held on awaiting her. But decided against awaiting her at the ledge but rather at the ground. And climbed down.

Max had received the rose earlier that day and felt some warmth since the dance. Since lately all she had been getting was cold words, dark mutters, she felt...regret. She didn't want to hurt either of them by choosing but then she lost all. What could possibly go wrong? She had nothing now why not take the chance with Garret again?
In the dead of the night she heard a slight tap on the window, then a whistle. Slipping out of her bed and into the snow boots she had placed next to her bed she silently made her way to the window. To see Garret awaiting her at the bottom with a lantern. Grinning she looked down. "What did you do? Climb up just to climb down?" she whispered smiling as she soon started climbing out the window with ease. If the high ropes course tought her anything, it was balance and strenght. Hair blowing in the wind she made her way down quickly. Her eyes glancing up at the window to make sure nobody was watching her. She was already in enough problem with Pyre, her X-bestfriend, her X-date to the dance, and her current dorm leader. Which would work against her.
Landing gently she smiled. "Not mad at me anymore?" she asked Garret cautiously and silently. She hoped he wasn't, she missed her friends, she missed laughing at their ridicule. She missed it all. Wrapping her arms around herself she looked at the dark sky, the cold air definently mad at her as well.

Garret smiled warmly at her "Of course I'm not mad anymore. If I was I wouldn't have sent you a rose," he watched her feeling a bit bad for not talking sooner. He didn't know what to say. Sure he felt hurt and angry about the dance, but in a way he sorta expected her to not know how to pick. Cause he knew if she picked Pyre he would be mad and think it's cause she feels bad for Pyre and he's her cabin leader, but if she picked him he figured Pyre wouldn't be too glad since he tended to get all the girls, and pretty much anything he wanted.
Holding out his hand he grinned "Ready to go? I hope you enjoy the cold," he said a bit of mischief in his eyes. Sure he wasn't necessary gonna throw snow at her, no tonight would have nothing to do with snow. But more of ice, picking up the lantern with his other hand he led her through the darkness and towards the icey floor. Sea salt right underneath the ice, sure he would show off. But it would also be fun.

Max smiled feeling glad that he was no longer mad. Taking his hand she smiled growing warmer as she stepped with him following the light of the lantern he used. Which she guessed was so that he didn't attract a whole lot of attention. "So where are we going? Because the cold isn't necessarily my friend," she told him looking through the darkness expecting to suddently be able to see.

Garret smiled at her question "A frozen sea," he told her honestly. She wanted to know, so why not tell her? They soon neared the ice and he lead her to one of SCA's pools, the salt water pool they had since salt water pools are better for your skin than chlorine pools. Which was good for him since he actually got to control his water. He had turned off the water heating so the top froze, the bottom still liquid as he made the water raise carrying the ice with it as he led her on. "Don't worry you won't get wet," he told her smiling.

Max's mouth opened in protest. She could barely see and now he was taking her to a frozen sea? He was a bit insane. But she smiled. Deciding against the protest. It's not like she would be doing anything better soon. She sighed stepping onto the ice after him. Gripping onto his forearm to avoid falling into the pool and freezing half to death. Especially in her favorite jeans and her expesive silver shirt she had bought during Christmas break.

Garret smiled at her "Don't worry," he told her holding her steadily as he made the water raise higher and spin toward the other side of the pool, the lanthern he held now higher as they nearly touched the ceiling. Taking out a match he light it with the lanthern and set the paper lantherns scattered around the ceiling afire. The water keeping them under control as they blazed beautifly. Placing the lanthern down he led her onto a different slate of ice.

Max laughed "Worry? Well if I fall and freeze? Cause we both know I'll be holding you accountable," she told him as the ice spun under her and she held onto Garret tighter until the ice slowed down and her grip relaxed slightly.
Looking at the ablaze lanterns she smiled at Garret warmly. "It's beautiful," she murmured watching the fire as the water underneath spun. It was like a show, a beautiful show.

Garret laughed "No, I don't think you will fall. I promise." he told her making the ice spin making the fire seem to dance. The water rose and fell making the pool like the ocean. Restless, but calming. The fire reflecting off the water's surface.
"I thought you would like it," he told her with a shrug.

Max snorted. "Yeah right. I doubt you would just knock me down just to prove you know how to swim," she told him referring to when they were younger and Pyre and them had been messing by the pool and Max fell in. Out of all the things they had done, they had done things to bring them closer. Sure their were times when she wanted to roast their heads on a stick. But others she couldn't imagine life without them.

Garret laughed "Don't hold that against me, that was years ago. Plus you didn't believe me," he added the last part with a laugh. The water underneath the ice moving slower as it slowly began melting the ice from soo much movement. But standing still allowed it time to freeze up again.

Max laughed "It wasn't like I believed you were son of Poseidon either, but I suppose we all make mistakes," she said smiling. The edge of her lip faltering. She had made a mistake that costed her a great friend. A best friend to be accurate, Pyre and her now rarely talked. And when they did it wasn't like before...

Garret grinned "I didn't believe you were daughter of Time either," he replied truthfully. Infact Garret at one point of time was convinced Father Time was some wrinkly old guy who flew around with a pouch of dust and threw it at kids to make them fall asleep. But of course he wasn't so immature now, and he knew Chronos was actually a god, not a old man.

Max smiled "Well we all learned something," she told him as the ice slowly stopped moving. Leaving the water time to freeze over. But she knew it would be wiser to step of the ice. But she wasn't going to unless Garret made the first move because if he suddently makes the ice move and she falls into the water it would be against her.

Garret smiled and thinking the same thing stepped off the ice. Holding her hand he led her outside for a stroll "So I was thinking, that I can try to get Pyre to talk to you again...Like friends..." he told her shrugging sligthly. He had talked to Pyre earlier that day, and he seemed over most of it.
