So Max had it planned out. Go with Pyre first, freeze time, make an excuse, then go with Garret. Simple right? Knocking on the boy's side of the Minor God's dorm she awaited Pyre to open the door, since she didn't reply, she hoped this would be obvious. Wearing a white dress and gold flats, her hair pulled back in a curly ponytail and a small white and gold hourglass necklace around her neck.

Pyre slowly opened the door set up between the two parts of the Minor Gods dorm. "Max?" he said with slight surprise. "I-I didn't think you were going with me." Opening the door further, he continued. "I was just going to stay here. Everyone else is gone." In the corner of the room, his laptop was flickering with a new e-mail almost ready to be sent home - his real home. "Just give me a sec, okay?" he asked with his usual, gentle smile.

Max smiled "All said in given time." she then noticed the flickering laptop. "Yeah I'll be at the girl's side of the dorm." she told him as an excuse to give him time. Not awaiting a reply she bounced back excited to see the dance and if it would be as pretty as promised.

Pyre smiled, shut the door, ran over to the laptop, and finished the e-mail. It was basically just another e-mail to his mom. Nothing special in it. He was just keeping her informed on what was happening in his life. Send.
Then, turning to his closet, he selected the outfit he thought best fit with the occasion. Quickly slipping it on and combing his hair, he returned to his desk. Quickly, as if he'd done it time and time again, he pressed the invisible button on the edge of desk, placed his laptop in the spot that opened up in the wall in front of him, and closed the door. He grabbed a wing necklace - the one gift he'd received from his father - and slipped it around his neck, returning to the door the same moment it was in place. "I'm back," he smiled, opening the door.

During this time Max was in the girls dorm frowning at her reflection. It seemed...so strange. Pulling her hair down she began carefully pinning ger hair back up, and when she thought it looked good she smiled. Ok, time to plan. Pulling out one of the small dance flyers she looked at the times. Which made her fish through her pillow case for her phone. Her fingers moving quickly as she put a vibrating alarm on. Don't lose track of time, or she won't have enough energy to keep it up all night. When she heard him she put the phone in her jacket pocket and grinned "I guess we are set then,"

Pyre blinked, apologetically. "Sorry for the wait." As the entrance to the dorm was in the boy's dorm, he stepped aside to let Max through. "So... off to the dance?" he asked, smiling. What exactly was it with Pyre? He seemed to always smile. Always seem overjoyed. He always hid his memories.
There were some who would love to remember their past. Pyre just wanted to forget it. His smile faltered at the memories for a moment. Today wasn't his strongest day. He was on the brink. Unstable. But going to the dance with Max should make the day perfect. Shouldn't it? Returning to his usual smile and false emotions, he backed up slightly and turned, side-by-side with Max, and began to walk towards the door. "Thanks," he whispered, not wanting a reply.

"That's right," she said grinning. She smiled. Which wasn't hard to do. Since Max was one to react the way the people around her did. And Pyre being the person around her half the time she was smiling.
Thanks... the word made her head tilt. "For what? I haven't done anything..." she said honestly.

Pyre turned his head and looked at her with his stormy blue eyes and smiled. "You've done a lot for me, whether you know it or not." With that, he opened the door and they were off to the dance.

Max, honetly, did not know it. And on her way there she pondered the thoughts of what she could've done. As far as she was concerned she tried to break his back by trying to knock him off the ropes course, she could've made him puke by taking him back in time. She could be hurting him by going with Garret at the same time, how were these things helpful?
