Tina sat in boredom, looking out the window of the car. The fields and trees flashed by as they entered an unfamiliar area to her. Camp Half Blood. She had tried saying the name so many times. She had repeated it over and over, and she couldn't get used to it. It was too foreign, like another language. Last month she had been told about her mother. Last year was the first sign she was a demigod. She had stroked a daisy, wishing that it wouldn't wilt, wishing it would grow to be full and strong.... It had blossomed a bright color with just one stroke of her fingers. Her dad wasn't as surprised.
Now here she was. Tina's grip tightened on the strap of her green duffel bag. Inside were her usual belongings...and a sword. A short sword her mother had given her last year. She had learned how to use her powers, but her swordplay was extremely weak. She didn't want to endanger her father by staying. And she wanted to learn how to defend herself better. So here she was. Camp Half Blood.
Tina stepped shyly out of the car, not really hearing her dad's farewell. She dragged the duffel bag out from the seat. It was a bit heavy for someone as small as her. But she liked it that way. She could hide behind it somewhat. Tina was...shy. Shy was a bit of an understatement. She couldn't really talk to people without feeling intimidated. At school, she was easily bullied or manipulated. Now, as a demigod, that would be a very bad flaw to have. It was turning out to be a bad thing already. She just stood shyly at the entrance of camp. She was too timid to ask where she was to go, or what she was to do.

Seeing the new kid Justin, son of Aphrodite jogged up looking as attractive as usual. His brown eyes gorgeous as he looked down at the minuscule child. "Gello, I'm guessing you're Tina? I'm Justin son of Aphrodite, and your assistant for this evening." grinning he took the bag out of her hands. His French accent faint, as he charmingly loomed around camp. He was super sweet, a failure at swords fighting, a pretty good archer, and probably like every other child of Aphrodite, looking like a model at all times.

Tina blinked in surprise to find a boy talking to her. That was something that usually didn't happen. He had the look of a supermodel. She instantly found herself blushing, which she quickly scolded herself mentally for.
"U-um, yes, haha what a joke, greetings<3 Matt, um, thank you." Tina spoke in her stuttering speech. You could tell already she was flustered. Tina found herself speechless like always. Whenever she tried to talk to someone, she would find timidness taking over control, and she would be unable to continue.

Justin flashed one of his million dollar smiles "It's all cool. Well do you know who your godly parent is yet or are you still undecided?" he asked the little girl kindly as he held her bag.

Tina stared up at him with her wide blue eyes. He really did look like one of those boys out of the movies, she decided to herself. "Demeter." Tina whispered. It was so quiet that he would have to strain to hear her. She tried again, a little louder this time. "Demeter."

"Ahh well Welcome daughter of harvest." he grinned cheekily. "So ill show you to Demeter cabin where you will meet Julien another new kid. Your cabin leader Kathrine is on a quest, but we hope she's back soon,"

"A quest?" Tina was beginning to gain a little confidence now. She wondered what kind of quest it was. Was it dangerous? And it looked like she already had a half brother. The thought made her feel shy again.

Justin smiled his million dollar smile. "Questing, dangerous stuff, but exciting. Theirs always excitement in fighting monsters and jumping off cliffs. Which isn't as scary as it seems," he said in a dream like voice his eyes on the sky now.

Tina blinked her now wide innocent eyes. It seemed plenty scary and dangerous to her, but maybe she didnt understand. From the look Justin had, it seemed like he really wanted to go on one. She couldn't imagine fighting and hurting anything. Even if that thing was a monster that wanted to kill her. She would more likely run than do something like that.

Looking down at the little girl he smiled "You know you can't live until you try something new and push boundaries. Life would be black and white without some excitement," the words probably the wisest he'd ever said. But they came from the observation he made from her expression and form of acting. She didn't seem to ve the type to go sky diving, despite how fun it is.

Tina looked up at Justin with wide and innocent blue eyes. Her expression spoke clearly, she would be too afraid to go do anything risky. It was mosre of a habit to run than a decision. That was probably a sad situation for any demigod. A demigod fought and lived, Tina ran and lived.

Justin shrugged "I guess your still young. Courage will build up one day, and I can picture you becoming the best swords master around," he winked and grinned.

"Swords?" Tina nearly yelped the word. She controlled herself from continuing on 'swords are sharp!' Tina couldn't imagine being a swords master, working something so dangerous with expertise and cutting down things. Honestly, she would feel bad for anything she killed.

Justin blinks "Or be a instructor or something...I dunno, but I wouldn't be surprised if you did become some super skilled fighter,"

Tina~ "Skilled fighter?" Tina nearly choked on the words. She must have looked stupid, being a little kid absentmindedly repeating his words like she couldn't understand them. "I don't think I can ever..."
