Terry sat at their temporary "camp" at Horsethief Lake. His side was bandaged and he was slightly feverish from the nectar he had taken to heal most of it. Shade's sword had made a pretty big cut. He looked at his arm, which had also been wrapped somewhat clumsily. It had hurt, being burned by the fire. Terry's pale blue eyes were dead and blank. For the first time, a heavy and dull mood hung around him. He wasn't smiling. He wasn't cracking jokes.
Terry was thinking about his best friend. He didn't know him. He had tried to kill him. Shade was gone. He looked around, wondering where Matt or Kat was. Kat had some explaining to do. All that talk of secrets and such. And Terry had not liked it. He was almost too afraid to ask her about it. The quest wasn't done. They still had to continue. As if there wasn't already enough stuff to worry about.

Kat of course found this experience alarming. How long would it be until she would encounter another Hades helper? Such thoughts kept her up at night. And during the day she would lay in between trees and sleep listening to the soft whispers of flowers.
Opening her green eyes she felt the small amount of tiredness slip away. Positioning herself up right she shook her head and of course set off to go find the wounded Terry. Which didn't take long. But when she saw him she froze. He probably has questions. Does she want to give him answers? Seeing his clumsy bandages she frowned. Fighting her urge to just rid them off and redo them herself.
Taking a deep breathe she approached Terry her green eyes on his face as she studied him carefully. Smiling grimly she said "Hey Terry. How are you dealing?"

Terry almost jumped at the sound of her voice. He had been sitting there for quite a long time. He had grown accustomed to the silence. It matched his tired and dull mood. He forced a smile as he turned around, trying to act cheerful around Kat. He wasn't the only one affected by the outcome of this. She was probably going through some stuff too. He couldn't afford to be sad. Kat was, after all, his special someone.
Terry wasn't going to ask her anything about what had happened. It wasn't his business. They were her secrets, maybe it would be uncomfortable for her if he asked. So he wouldn't say anything until she decided to.
"Yo, I'm doing alright...I guess. Still hurts, but I heal fast." Terry smiled sheepishly. "I got careless."

Kat smiled slightly. "You know you don't how to pretend everything is fine. Shade was closer to you than anybody else..." she told him as she approached her eyes focused on the clumsy bandages. He would surely get his wounds infected. Which wouldn't be good. Maybe he should wash them off.

Terry looked at her for a few moments, then let out a small sigh. He turned back around, his smile slowly fading away. Terry stared at the grass, unsure of what to say. "Yeah, I guess he was, wasn't he?" His laugh was kind of bitter. Terry wimced, laughing hurt now, for some reason, and it wasn't only because of his wounds. He pressed his hand to his side and shook his head. "Man, this sucks..."

Kathrine felt pity for Terry and didn't know how to react. Sitting down next to him she carefully began fixing his bandages her voice a soft cautious tone "You know none of this was you're fault. Shade was going to eventually make contact with his dad. But I guess it just turned out for the worst..." she looked up her green eyes soft. "Shade will eventually come back, and if he doesn't we're still here..."

Terry listened quietly, but kind of tensed when she began to redo his bandages. "You don't have to..." Terry stopped. He was no son of Apollo. He was horrible at the bandages, it would be better if Kat fixed them. He smiled sadly. "I wonder if it isn't my fault. He gave me such a dirty look. He really hates me. But I wonder, what seemed to cause him to forget? He was like a completely different person."

Kat shrugged "Hades is s powerful god. I don't know if he would control his own son, but it can be a possibility," she told him as she tightened the bandage as she made small banana leaves create a sort of over the ground canal carrying the lake water to were Kat was at. A soft soaked cotton being pressed on Terry's wounds as she carefully cleaned them.

Matt during thus whole conversation was either asleep, juggling grapes, or climbing vines looking for the disappeared Shade. Sure he heard some of the story. But not all of it. Plus he was still hoping for the shy boy to come popping out of the shadows and scaring his half to death. Though he could wait if popping out of the shadows meant getting sliced up like a piece of meat...

"Ouch!" Terry winced at the pressing of cotton, even thought it was rather soft, but his cuts stung really badly. They hadn't been cleaned properly after all. Maybe they were already infected. But anyway, Terry tried to ignore it and let Kat clean it. She was really good at this stuff. "Where's Matt?" Terry asked. He didn't want him going around alone with Shade maybe targeting all the questers now.

At the mention of Matt she paused. Thinking for a moment "...probably working on his juggling skills..." she said smiling slightly. It was Matt, the goof's thing, try to join the circus and be a fully qualified demi-god, he would then be truly skilled at a majority of goof-ball things.

Terry grinned with her at the thought. "I wish I had the coordination to juggle." he almost laughed at that. He was careful, though. Laughing meant tensing his cuts. He needed to hurry up and heal

Kat snickered "The coordination to fly around and nearly drop people 50 feet from the ground but not juggle?" her voice a laughing taunt as she finished and stopped her powers. Studying his bandages she felt content with them. Sure it wasn't perfect, but it was better than before.

To ruin such a calm moment Matt was clambering through the bushes and running at them. Which would answer Terry's question. What was he running from? A large hybrid snake-rabbit-thing. Which was definently not cool since he successfully juggled 10 things before the snake lunged forward and he leaned back the venomous bite nearly missing. Adeline rush helped him survive afterwards as he ran and became Tarzan until the edge of the bushes were he stumbled and rolled forward. Leaping in leopard form he stood next to Terry and Kat his ears twitching as I'd saying 'Nice to see you guys! Do you happen to have a sword or will I have to wrestle this thing?'

Kat stated at the leopard wondering what he was saying. But the hybrid explained it and she leaped forward infront of Terry. How is it when she needs a sword it's not present? Making a the bushes split apart she made a clearing. Her focus on defending the already down Terry. Staring at Matt she smiled "You know having a human controling plants with me would be even more helpful than a giant kitty,"
