Garret may have as well just layed in his bed that day. He would be the first student in SCA to complete and hopefully pass his final exam. Most of the other students didn't want to remain in SCA to become teachers but Garret didn't see a life outside SCA without some sort of work experience. And control over his powers.
Sitting in an empty desk he stared at the packet. So far he would be the only student to be filling it out and turning it in. But he liked Survival Class which was near the subject he would hopefully be teaching, fighting monsters, since it was good to be rational when fighting.
Smiling he filled out the last question on the form before turning it in. Looking at the giant fancy archway he wondered if a friend would show up to either A, also take the test, B to get him for some random meeting, or C come here for the least favorite teacher's class, Statistics, which was his next class. Not to mention they would be having a test today. Ohh joy.

Max bounded into the class in perfect schedule. Catching sight of Garret Max grinned "Taking the exam? Was it hard?" she asked cautiously. Though knowing he would most likely not reply. Shrugging she sat down in a seat next to his "Ahh Statistics, one of the most unusual subjects to take as a demi-god in a Half-Blood Academy," Max frowned at the book infront of her. The thick leather bind obviously expensive like everything else in the school.

Garret looked up to see Max flashing a smile he said. "Nahhh. I think you should be answering it yourself Ms. I can jump ahead in time and see the test answers" setting down his pen he grabbed her book. "We'll your book is in better shape than mine..." pulling his own tattered stack of paper he set it on the desk. "I dunno, maybe demi-gods need to bored monsters to death using Statistics," he said laughing.

Max rolled her ivy eyes. "You know if I did jump forward in time all the time I certainly wouldn't be here, and I would have avoiding this subject. But I do feel tired at times," she said smiling slightly. Seeing his book she snickered "What did you do? Fight monsters with it?" shaking her head slightly she took her book back.

Garret looked down at his book and smiled while speaking sarcastically. "Yeah, on my way across the Courtyard I ran into Medusa and hit her a couple times with my book, then outside the door I fought a dragon. You know nothing major. Just doing my share in beating monsters senseless with senseless books,"

Max rolled her eyes but acted as if she believed him. "I'm surprised you didn't get petrified," then adding with her own bit of sarcasm she said "yeah did you know their is a pack of wolves outside awaiting you to beat them with your book. Obviously everybody wants some,"

Garret snorted shaking his head he brushed some hair out of his eyes. Leaning back he looked at the clock. "You know we still have 2 minutes left...You're pretty early for someone who can turn time and get here exactly when the bell rings." sighing he decided to ask. "So...Max are you going to the show today?" his eyes still on the clock.

Before Max could answer, Pyre decided to walk in and crash their party. "Alright, Statistics. Oh, hey guys!" he said with a smile. He was surprised to see the two in here so early. It was unusual for anyone to get to Statistics before the bell rang. Even the teacher was routinely late.

Max opened her mouth to reply her face slightly pink but the color faded as fast as it came as she maintained a formal discomposure. "Hey Pyre," she said smiling her usual smile. Grinning she said "A minute before the bell, early compared to most." but as if her voice brought people the run started becoming flooded Demi gods coming in as they filled the desks. The teacher, as they knew had a camera to insure they were on time while she herself was always late. Despite the fact she was a centaur and could run pretty fast.

Pyre gazed at Max with a smile. Alas, the moment did not last. The bell rang and he was forced to take his seat. Statistics? What kind of half-blood (with the exception of Athena's kids) would ever use stats in real life situations. I'm definitely going to beat this Empousai. The stats are 10 to 3! Yeah, right.

Garret's eyes narrowed slightly as he felt sure Pyre purposely kept Max from answering. Deciding not to let this get in his way he decided to rip out a sheet of paper. Acting perfectly well he pretended to take notes on the scribble in his text book. But infect he wrote a note: So how about going to the show tonight with me? Or we can do something else... Garret hoped it was obvious he was asking her out. Due to the fact he's never asked anybody out he didn't really know if it was obvious. But you can still hope. Folding the note and sliding it carefully onto Max's desk. The teacher finally beginning class inna rush.

Pyre smiled at Garret, evilly. He knew he would try asking Max out. Pyre, however, would take a more subtle approach. Before Max noticed the note, a breeze just happened to blow through the classroom from the open window. The note flew across the room and, conveniently, into the trash can.
Raising his hand, Pyre asked to use the restroom. Passing by the trash can, he pulled up the note with his powers and walked out with a grin.

Now Garret felt like pounding his face. So when he asked to go to the bathroom instead of letting him read the note he made it soo soggy it became small little rolled up people. Then he grabbed a pen, his notebook then rewrote the note, but instead of ripping it out he handed the hard leather bond notebook to her, or actually slipped it under her arm.

Max was about to grab the note when it blew away in the wind. Pyre. She knew no wind could take the note away. And with a sigh she decided to ignore them. Slightly curious about what the note said. But she still kept up with the class. Taking notes the whole time as Garret slipped his notebook under her arm she looked up at him slightly and flipped the book open covering the page so only she could read it. Face expressionless she closed the notebook once more as the teacher approached. A blush rising as she fought it down. But she felt confused. Why now? Notheless. Max couldn't ignore her wish to agree. But instead she wrote in reply. We'll see...

Pyre, instead of going to the bathroom, decided to read the note. Unfortunately, that would be a little hard with it soaked in sea water. Garret... he thought. Pyre liked Garret, he really did, but Max was a little more important.
Since he couldn't exactly read the note, he just inferred as to what it may have said. This, of course, was obvious with the dance later that night. Sneaking to a window, careful as to not let the cameras see him, he opened it and plucked a few of Max's favorite flowers from the ground. Quickly closing the window, he ran off to her locker to place them in. Then, all he had to do was stall Max's agreement to go to the dance with Garret until after class when she would make the trip to her locker.
Try as you will, Garret, you could never best me.
