If anybody didn't know how to control her powers, it would be Kathrine, daughter of Demeter. The fact she was cabin leader was stunning, well not really since the only other Cabin Member died not to long ago giving her the title. Kathrine could even tell that the other Cabin Leaders felt unsure of her leading this one-man cabin. Especially since Demeter cabin tends to fill up depending on the season.
Kathrine huffed as she carried the huge pot of flowers outside her blue eyes trying to see over the accidentally grown vines that were rumored to have tied up another demi-god. Walking steadily she tried to focus, but the second she stepped off the last step she rolled forward. The clay pot breaking, the flowers growing by dozens infront of the Demeter cabin and Katherine covered in soil.
Eyes narrowing she turned to see what had tripped her, rubbing her pink hands she spotted the tree root. A laugh sounding in her head. Growling she spat at the root making it disappear into the earth again. Turning around her cheeks flushed a bright pink as the sound of laughter echoed through the air.
Why couldn't I just be a Aphrodite kid? she thought miserably as she faced the laughing half-bloods. Chin held high she tried to ignore the fact that soil covered her blonde hair and that the flowers that she was only supposed to take out into the forest scattered throught the clearing.

Watching silently, Aaron stepped forward. His hazel eyes giving a death glare to the other half-bloods, silencing them instantly. He walked up, helping her brush the soil off of one plant and gather the scattered flowers somehow.
At the slight touch, the plant lend back and wilted. It shriveled, growing black and crumbling to ash. Aaron took a step back. He had forgotten for a second there. He just wanted to see the plant. It was a bright pretty color. Looks like it wasn't for him. Demeter probably didn't like him anyway. He looked up at the girl in silence. He was too shy to speak, but he remembered his manners. He took a step back from the rest of the flowers in case they turned into that small pile of ash one of them became. "Sorry."

Kat brushed some soil off her jeans and then shook her blonde hair trying to get a majority of the soil off "Thanks," she said wistfully. Her cheeks still pink. The seeing the dead flowers she shrugged "If you didn't kill them I would have," she smiled. "Son of Hades right? I'm Kathrine daughter of Demeter,"
Snorting the flowers sang No surprise you have to make friends with a son of Hades to tell the truth the flowers weren't fond of Aaron. Nope especially with Hades as a father, since they infect adored Persephone. "Hey you guys can die during the winter or now. Make a pick," she snapped at them. Their was a small grunt and they disappeared into the grass and grew away from the cabin and near a far away tree as they muttered angrily about Kathrine's rudeness.

"...." He was a wordless kind of person. Since he came, he hadn't talked to anyone yet. Aaron watched her conversate with the plants. It must be kinda nice to have things to talk to. His hazel eyes were amused and surprised. He looked up and her greeting. ".....Shade. My....friend...called me Shade."

"Cool," she said grinning she threw a dirty look at the flowers as she spat out "Since we coincidentally ran out of weed killer, I guess you can help me get rid of these stray weeds" the words made the flowers grow threatening thorns. Kat we may love your mother, but we can hurt you this made the blonde laugh. "Hey I don't talk to weeds at the same moment a apple dropped by her foot looking up angrily she snapped "If trees weren't so nosy maybe they wouldn't be chopped down for paper,"
Clearly the girl wasn't a nature person. So when Demeter claimed her everyone was surprised. They all figured she was daughter of Aphrodite or something. Sure she was food with swords and pegasuses. But she was a blonde that valued her new clothes moore than the dying trees.

She didn't seem to get along with her powers. Aaron's calm look was turned to a little bit of confusion. He took a step forward and the flowers recoiled as if saying 'get back!' He was surprised that they could have a personality of their own. He didn't like to kill things, and he didn't do it on purpose the first time. He looked at the Demeter kid, not sire what he was doing. He just stood awkwardly away from the plants, shuffling to the side.

they don't like you. But hey join the club! she smiled. So any better with your powers than I am with mine? a flower laughed Doubt it. He's son of hades the way the pink thing spoke the name made Kathrine hiss in annoyance You would think flowers were pretty and sincere instead of air brained, arrogant, and wrinkly, hissing the flower grew to her size. Powers stretching she held the flower's stem watching it turn greener You know I like challenges cringing the flower shrunk and eventually left to join the tree with the others a few feet off.

"......" He held out his open palm, and a black fire sprang to life before him, dancing on his palm. He dropped it onto the floor, and it spread around him, enveloping him in defense. He could do other stuff, but this was the first thing he learned to do. And it came to him naturally. He snapped and the flames hissed and disappeared, levying a smoldering patch of grass. Whoops, more property damage. Flustered a bit, he looked at her apologetically.

That's intense she said smiling. Grass is probably the only thing that doesn't hate me. Waving her hand the grass grew back greener and more lustrous than before. I can't control much. Not unless they decide to cooperate. I mean I can successfully bring grass back, though taking it away is a challenge...

"Thanks." He nodded at the compliment. He had received his powers and weapons and trained them at seven. It wasn't her fault she had less control. He looked at her with his hazel eyes. They were calm and smooth. "But your powers are still nice. Once you get control, won't it be even better?"

I suppose...I'm getting alittle better... she smiled. Her first year here was horrifying for the other Demeter kids who ran from one side if camp to the other trying to rid everything of overgrown flowers, weeds, trees, vines, and thorns.

She seemed to be the only Demeter kid left here. So there was no one to correct things that went out of control. "If anything goes out of control, I can help you." His voice is earnest. He owed her for his bandages. He would be glad to help.

"Thanks." she said earnestly, help would be good. The flowers cringed in horror at the words Great extreme extinction coming our way... but Kat ignored them. Maybe he can help her learn to control her powers. Sure his powers were nearly the opposite, but hey they were powers?

He nodded, waving away the thanks. It wasn't needed, he was glad to be able to help. He looked at the sky, itching to go check out his cabin and his stuff. "I need to go."

"ok bye," she said waving before heading towards the flowers. She still was going to take them away. Clapping her hands she said "Come on, time to go," sighing the shrunk and left her frowning. That's not what she meant sighing she shrugged and went to her cabin to wash out the rest of the soil.
