Carter let his gaze glide over the crowd. He heard no questions. Either his plan was flawless or the monsters here were simply too incompetent to spot out a blemish in his otherwise golden scheme. "In five days' time, I expect you all to be waiting at the border in the woods, where Zephyrus Creek runs nearest to the outside world. You had all better be ready when I arrive." The dragon continued, giving helpful tips as he felt some of these beings in front of him needed them. "Any stragglers will likely be killed by a demigod circling around in an attempt to attack from behind. Don't run ahead, as anyone too far ahead of the rest of us will also be killed."
Taking one last glance around, Carter stepped down from the make-shift stage and approached Kim and Fang, once again. "Did I cover everything or is there something one of you two would like to add?" he asked.

Fang didn't bother hiding the genuine surprise on his face the moment Carter gave him a position to lead. It was unexpected and unplanned, and the son of Ladon had no plausible reason to trust him, though he had seen his kill already. The vixen decided that letting Carter see his unveiled shock wouldn't be a bad thing. It would at least give him somewhat and air of modesty.
He gave Kim an amused smile and then shrugged as Carter left the "stage" and the eager monsters to discuss. Ugh. They were so pathetically noisy and eager that it made him sick. Sure, he jumped at the opportunity to kill a few demigods, but he certainly didn't want to eat them. He greeted Carter with a trademark sly grin as he returned.
"Well, you did cover everything about the raid other than the fact that you were going to randomly put me in charge of some of those...um...things. A little spontaneous, don't you think, on his part?" he directed the last bit at Kim, though it was a move to lighten her up rather than jab at Carter. He didn't want Kim to be disgusted at him about sharing a position of authority. It was already a little obvious that she would act hatefully to him anyways, since she was the kind to refrain from showing tolerance to maintain her cruel image.

Kim actually bothered to pay attention to the last tidbit Carter had added to his spiel. She especially was alert when he called her out by pinning a question on her. Shrugging, she blew it off like she didn't care. Kim didn't really have faith in the plan, but either way, she knew her main priority was killing the most she could, and second to that priority would be staying alive. She didn't really know what she would do with the demigods she killed. Kim knew that she didn't really want such disgusting meat in her mouth, but in a way, she was vicious enough about keeping her reputation she'd probably just pretend to eat one anyway and give the real corpse to some passerby weakling that failed to get a kill. It never occurred to her that it was logical to eat your kills, since she was really permanently in a human form. She had eaten human food for a bit before realizing she had no knowledge of cooking and that she was irritable inside public areas with the stench of mortals stinking up the entire place.
She chuckled ever so slightly at Fang's comment, hiding a slight scoff in between laughs. "He probably put you in charge because you look remotely sane." Inside, Kim was having an internal debate about how to act toward Fang. He seemed to be someone she might have actually gotten along with if the circumstances were different, but she had a reputation to uphold and a temper that she lacked control over. Even if they were to form some sort of alliance, it would be short-lived and temporary because her anger issues would screw things up.

Carter gave both of them a small laugh, though it was hollow, without meaning. It was only a sign he recognized what they'd said was lighthearted. He still didn't like Kim and Fang was still a mystery to him. He could read Kim - she was a hot-headed megalomaniac with a twisted past. Stereotypical dictator. Fang, however... the only information he had on him was what Fang chose to share. It was... disconcerting yet, in a way, enthralling.
In reply to Fang's comment, Carter showed a small grin. "Just try to put up with them long enough to get the job done. I put you two in charge because I know you're both smart enough to keep them in line and kill as many scum as possible."
